My honest review of the new Genmitsu L8 20 watt laser engraver. This is a new hobby laser from Genmitsu that is budget friendly and works great with Lightburn and LaserGRBL.

Nice content. But I think you need to calibrate the camera with lightburn, the slight tilt you have in the preview is also clearly to be seen in the business card engraving. It's either not done on delivery by Genmitsu or has been misaligned in shipping....

Heads up, if you trace and then click your mouse to make a box around only the area you want to trace, you can save yourself unnecessary work and materials wasted. Good review tho.

I can't imagine a tilt sensor ever being needed... The money spent on that would have been better spent putting a chinsey USB hub inside so that it only needed one USB connection imo. There's some good ideas there, but some things are just terrible. I mean air and DC in on the FRONT panel?! Still seems a bit like the other cheap ones to be honest, but glad you scored it free and hope you build some neat things with it :)

Hello, new user here. I cannot get my unit to make its first cuts. Need some help getting the software going. It’s a brick unless my computer cooperates. Need someone to walk though the software use. Any videos on that?
