The main reasons why moonton isn't afraid to rip off riot are 1.They have the money 2.They have the casual player base 3.They are a Chinese company.

Moonton literally has control over the Asian market when it comes to MOBAs. They even went so low to ban pro teams here in the Philippines who were competing in their competitive scene and is also competing in the wild rift pro scene. They literally don't want the game to overtake them 🤣🤣🤣.

Riot a bit late in mobile era. Mootoon has already destroyed players mindset. Now if you show wild rift to new players, they would say "Its dark, Its slow, blah blah"

Ngl, ML turns our cheap android phones into handheld consoles. If RIOT can achieve that feat, they can turn the tide.

I played ML in highschool and stopped during college, and it really is a lot of fun to play, whether you pay for skins or just casually play, wanna waste time or play with your friends, heck, the best moments I had was playing it with my friends pre-covid. It really is all about accessibility and "who came first". If Riot capitalized on the Mobile MOBA craze, made Wild Rift before Moonton did, it would've been a very different case.

Two things as a ml player.. Its casual friendly. Promotes people to play with each other close irl rather than online like discord or some westerners since they are far away. And the difficulty. Since its on phones you have to understand the faster the game is the better, the mentality in regions plays too. This is just for their leisure and they wont play unlike other people. Normally only 1-3 hrs. While other games for just onematch takes 1 hr or 40mins.

The game won't die unless they ban the game in SEA

Honestly, one of the biggest reasons why ML got so popular in SEA is because Riot neglected the region. ML-SEA is what LoL SEA could have been.

It's insane how many channels I have seen so far covering this topic. It's like an Algo cash grab now for gaming content creators.

The difference is even if League started off as a DotA copy, they eventually evolved into their own thing -- the aesthetic, gameplay, and characters look different. You can put a DotA and LoL screenshot side by side and you can figure out which is which. ML is currently doubling down on how close they want to be to LoL, specifically WR, which is a detriment to their game. They keep applying things that mimic WR's content and mechanics without understanding its purpose. They gave one of their marksman characters, Kimmy, a clunky marker that doesn't work because the direction of her shots is delayed when you turn. It just makes her confusing to play. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with her old AoE display, but they put that marker because... WR did it. And they really do have a hard-on for WR. These massive overhauls of unnecessary changes came when WR came out. It's so blatant, it's disgusting. And don't get me started on the song copies, it so cringe. I don't understand how they're the "number 1 moba" in SEA, yet have THE absolute worst cinematics and graphics. My IQ dropped when an ML ad played showing 2 of their characters having a fart battle. They just seem so devoid of creativity. Say what you want about League, but you can't deny the amount of passion that goes into their music and art. ML should just stick to being their own thing. Stay casual, just keep churning out hot white babes and dudes, find their own unique look, focus on balancing their shit roster that gets outdated really fast (they revamped a character last year into an Aatrox copy only to have that character be a candidate AGAIN for a revamp because no one was using her), and stop panicking over WR because their market is different.

3 things where Riot failed: 1. They came in too late in the Mobile Market and when they did, it failed soft launch. 2. Too much China favoritism. 3. They didn't support content creators to hype their game.

One possible reason is the ml community is combination of variety of players. Even the "non-gamers" are joining the scene like security guards, grandmas/grandpas, single moms, school teachers, elective officials. Second reason is progress, players who plays ml that haven't played any moba aren't switching anytime soon. soon.

I'm from Indonesia, and 90%+ of our ppl here using mobile for our daily activity such as playing games, watching RU-vid, TikTok, etc and mobile games here (at Indonesia) are too big to ignore, ML, FreeFire and PUBG mobile is big 3 games right now

When it was released, ML is by every definition of the word, a copy of LoL (PC). As an LoL pc player in Indonesia, the very slow matchmaking, and pace of life that makes you play games on the go really is fertile soil for Moonton back then. However, today, the ML game itself is very different from the WR game; the lane phasing, meta, emphasis, hero balancing, toxicity. It is indeed started as a copy, but let's give Moonton credit on how they actually managed to develop that copy to be something quite unique

The knockoff version is much easier to play than wildrift.. it's casual friendly 😂😂

Moonton didn't just copy The heroes and the skills of those heroes ... There are some skins and voicelines similar to League

I think mlbb is one of the only clone games that can pass for its own game because of how popular it is and dedicated developers

played ML for years and abandoned it entirely when Wild Rift was released. It's just so much better in every way.

Seeing this makes me sad because Vainglory didn't even get the same recognition here in Asia. Moonton even copy skins from Vainglory. Please make a story about Vainglory so it will be revived again. Best MOBA for me. League of Legends Wild Rift didn't even come close. The simplicity of VG & its deep lore gives feel that no other MOBA games can. 2017-2019 were the golden ages of VG. Hope someday the community will kickstart a campaign for reviving VG

As much as how I hated MLBB when it was newly released, I became one of its loyal followers simply because of how they manage their community. They spend their money on the game improvement and support content creators to spread their game rather than spend much on advertisements (this is maybe why they have shit advertisements). One more reason why people are sticking to MLBB is that the game is relatively easier to play, casuals can play the game however they want and pros can focus on communication and strategy. As long as the game is still improving, there will be no reason for me to stop playing unless ofcourse if I will become busier.

(Fewer than 10, we follow COVID restrictions) Played a few ranked games five-men and it was the best games I ever had. Even though I was the tank, hooking people in with Franco and seeing enemies just getting obliterated by my friends while I just DON'T let them escape was the best thing ever!

I haven't played mobile MOBAs but since the pandemic happened, most of my friends that don't have their own PC wasn't able to play with us anymore, so we tried playing ML since there were a lot of people playing them in our country. I don't really like it that much but it was a good way to spend time with friends. If WildRift appeared earlier, maybe it would be the one that is unstoppable now.

Now for the progress of Mobile Legends we've past our 5 year anniversary and gave everyone a task to obtain a skin of a hero as an elf moon goddess and made a second big change of UI system, skin revamps, in game play style , matchmaking optimization, hero adjustments such as buffed or nerfed, and we're about to have a 3rd world championship (M3) Everyone will now see ML is just like your son or little brother and your LOL, that sometimes its ok to copy just not to much ok. the old survival mode was the only thing that i found from moonton that was unique when compared to other moba games, it was a staple arcade mode until they replaced it with magic chess. 2 yrs after they reintroduced survival mode but that version was a your typical battle royale rip off

Been playing both games for years now, TBH (from an unbiased stand point) both games are very fun to play, ML is more on the micro side and LoL is very much on macro side, ML and League has one in many of its goals and that's to bring happiness in gaming it's surprising on how ML has a lot of hate from the league community and vice versa, some are blinded by their biases and doesn't want to accept the fact that both of these games brings joy to their playerbase why not try playing the other game to see what's it like it could be fun

I play both games and honestly ML devs seems like they care more about the casual player base while riot just looks at pros. Also i just want riot to make map skins surely it should give them lots of sales.

This whole ML dominating the southeast asian region is a clear reminder that its people are hungry for "attention". I don't mean it in a bad way as I'm one of its people too but what I'm basically saying is we are too under represented in almost every aspect of E-sports and any other entertainment industry to be general. And Moontoon is basically giving feeding us attention by way of aggressively putting national heroes or myths as playable heroes for the game which in turn gives its people pride and want to focus on the game. There's also how they designed it so it can run on even the lowest end of mobile phones.

In ml, whenever you go to the public chat/world chat (specially in ph), you will literally see everyone wanting duos (mostly girls) and i'm pissed of it.

This ML thing had been a big arguement in the gaming community in the Philippines for a while.

I am directly involved in this market as a content creator from Cambodia. Yes, MLBB straight out copied LoL:WR but I don't see WR hitting hard anytime soon. As good as LOL on PC is, LOL: WR on mobile, Riot is doing very very very little in comparison to their photocopied game. Moonton knows how to hit the market, they jump straight in with locale language, locale content, working directly with content creators with monthly in-game diamonds as rewards. In Asia, we all speak diff langauge, so having a game setting it up in our respective countries and marketing to our "traditions" is a huge deal, as if the player feels like this game is from "My Country". Riot Wildrift on the other hard, decided to give up on some markets already still only sticking to BIGGER markets where they are not winning either. Not to mention, Moonton found a way to make it so new players can play their game with ease, ANYONE CAN PLAY. Compared to Wild Rift, you need some base understanding of MOBA or LOL. It's like, Riot made the amazing presentation for school project but don't know how to present it to the class, but Moonton is a professional salesman.

But Oddete and Lux aren't the same. 😥

Before WR comes out, ML rarely give free skin, like rarely, basic skin are worthy as hell especially for f2p... After WR was launched ml make an event every month or so which literally give free skin so they can attract the players more🤣🤣🤣

you cannot technically say its a "Clone Game" if they are in the different platform before. thats why riot can only sue for the designs and not the entire game and is also the main reason why MLBb is still out there.

I switched to WF after it came here but I went back to ml after some time again,no it's not because I spent on skins or dias,but I had been playing ml for about a year and a half and it was simply more fun,and I'm sure it's like that for others too.

Mobile Legends is casual and short enough for be funny, and is not a stressing hot garbage as league of legends is

NGL, went back to LOL after playing ML for a while. ML is actually more fun xD . The pacing of matches is great and the game is more accessible. And the fact they rip off characters from other games is sort of a meme in itself xD

Riot is just bragging about copied Thier games but its not all about characters, heroes, & graphics. They miss the important part of the game. Its the gaming experience, an of playing the game even you have slower internet. Having an interaction between player's taunting even after the game. Moba game has to be a fast game without compromising heroes ability. Wild rift has high graphics that's very difficult to play or even load to the server specially when you have data connection only. Wild rift is trying hard to make the a fast compromising its tank heroes ability and become more equally to marksman due to very high damage heroes has that no deff item can endure. I played wild rift for a couple of months and i went back to ML. its the gaming experience that matters. Eat your graphics.
