Sun Bear, Bile Bear, Honey Bear, Malay Bear, Dog Bear....Helarctos malayanus This bear has a lot of names but whatever we call it, it is a living creature which is very intelligent. The biggest draw for poachers to hunt this animal is to farm it's Bile (stomach fluids). like this video showed it is a gruesome and torturous existence for these 'Bile Bears'. To make things even more senseless, this bile has no scientifically proven medical benefits. Just like Tiger bones and Bear Gallbladder, some backwards and primitive cultures believe these items contain some mystical power to cure their ED. we can even recreate these products in the chemistry lab to exactly match the compounds harvested from animals. People need to be educated about these things. Most probably have no clue that the animal is even listed as VULNERABLE on the Wildlife Conservation Index.

Yes those are all other species of bear throughout the world. However, The names I posted above are all different names for this one species of bear they had in this video.. People call it many different names.

It's easy to say something like that about a situation you don't understand. The people poaching and burning the forests aren't some kind of careless monsters, they are poor people with no other means of work and no place to turn for other employment. It's up to the government of Indonesia and other countries with people in similar scenarios to find a solution.

I've had a great love for these wee bears since 1969. Wrote a high school paper on them in 1969. My teacher was stunned !! Being from Canada, not a normal choice. They still hold a large place in my heart. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Yup. an inch there and an inch there adds up quick. Even if all of the world's deforestation happened solely in the Amazon Rainforest, at the rate you described, it would take 100 years for it to be gone. And it's not happening all in one spot, so it's pretty simple to reforest. Mankind adapts to problems mankind can perceive. No need for alarm.

At first I didn't understand why they chose to use the narration from the bear's voice. That is until the end, when it is shown that the cub was taken by by people who trying to save what they could from an area that was being desimated for a food product. Powerful telling. Thank you.

I think palm oil is excessively demonized but if we replace it with other sources that don't produce as much oil, isn't that also counterproductive? We use more resources to produce the same amount of product. I think what we need are laws that protect forests and lawmakers who would push to enforce that law. Forests should be burned down for a plantation, I'm sure there are other and better land resources that could be used.

Palm oil is in a lot of beauty products and foods . Check the label before you vote with your dollar that you agree with what they do when you pay for it ! Find alternatives . Message the company and spread awareness. Be the change .

Im sorry but the first person narration is very bothering. I know its meant to give out a poetic feel and to make people feel more connected with the animal but whenever i see a sun bear, ive never hear this voice in my head. Id feel more connected with the bears if theres no first person narration by a human voice. If narration is needed, third person is fine

Great video, wonderful story; but I did not like the choice of narrator. It was a bit lazy-sounding and the vocal fry was rather annoying. I think, considering the video concerns a younger bear, a child's voice would've been more fitting.
