5AM this morning I watched half of this vid before work ..Had the second half watched by 8pm tonight..Big day ? still reckon you got the better deal..ha ha ..great video Nev.well done
Great video man! Flatties look like a blast on light tackle! I fish really similar lures and techniques here in the Southeast US so that's cool to see the carry over. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
How good are those Munroe's Soft Plastics..........Not only the flick baits, but the grubs, paddles, curl tails and ripple bugs. Awesome video to Nev 👍
Good to see a vid out again mate. I have never really understood why Aussies pronounce it "Brim" but its like that on all Aussie fishing vids so it must be a thing!
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ru-vid.comUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
I like your video so far. Vary editorial. But I had too stop to tell you that your casting technique is okay for stream fishing , for lakes an open area it sucks. Hold the line with the same hand your holding your rod with by using your pointer finger as a casting trigger. When you hold back an then swing forward , release then line by straitening your finger an then you’ll have power to make long cast. Hopefully it helps you. I’ve been doing it this way since I was a little kid, about six year old.
Awesome fish and what a beautiful place, looks like you had it all to yourself too! I'm dying to throw a line in but the weather in Sydney is so crap ATM...
As soon as you said "flatty territory" I knew exactly where you are fishing. The background gave it away. Were you there before, or after the entrance opened? That's in my backyard, and that's within an hours drive from my place. East Gippsland, is gods country.
Nev, I'm sending you my address so you know where to send those fish. Hahaha. Very good fishing video and we're so jealous we cannot get the same results. One day. Watching you being successful is good enough for us. Thank you.
Too much line slack. Eventually you’ll catch you reel with the slack line and hopefully it don’t break the line an lure goes fishing without ya. It’s happened to me several times throughout the years. I had too learn a better technique. I also fish salt water. I usually have 2-6 ounces of lure. If the line catches the reel or for the same situation is that if the bail closes at half cast , the line will snap an out goes lure fishing without me. It’s a sound you’ll never forget It happens to other anglers also that uses self closing bails. Manual closing bail is the way to go. I use a Saragossa by Shimano. That won’t close the bail on ya and won’t throw ya lures away. Also 50# line with 30#-40# leader. Some fishing I use 50#-80# leaded. Fresh water is way lighter of course. 20# line with 6#-10# leader.
Hey nev, love your videos mate. I have a similar anchor on my kayak and can never seem to get it to grab on a sandy bottom. Was under the impression that style is more for a rocky bottom.
And Nev I have just got into fishing with 10 lb Braid main line and use a fluorocarbon leader and I want to know what is the strongest knot to tie braid to fluorocarbon?
Great day out mate, can you tell me the name of those soft plastics? I thought you said 'Monroes' for the flatty one and I'm not sure if you mentioned the name of the Bream grub. I'd love to know the flatty one especially, I reckon the makers should sponsor you, cause a lot of us want to buy some after watching this session
@@NevsFishing Thanks, I just went and ordered the 3 and 4.25 in sub zero and blue ash. After I did the order I noticed another color that could be the ones you were using called swarf. oh well they look similar. Thanks again mate, can't wait to use em
Hey Nev, ive been looking into some fishing kayaks and noticed you have a pretty nice looking one. Could you please tell me what type of kayack you have and where you got it. That would be great. Thanks 😁
Hi Caleb he has a Hobie Compass, he has this video which breaks down the kayak and accessories, it’s a great watch! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VjZ5Igbw-a4.html

To me kayak fishing is about simplicity. Think you got enough crap in your yak? Ridiculous any way you look at it. Thousands of dollars spent on trying to out smart a fish. Get a life
Good video except for one thing...where i fish a 35 cm flatty is a good flatty. I fish of cowes peiir and i dont have a surfod to cast out of the corners so i go on a sandbar. My pb flatty from there was 42 and a half
Hey mate. Sorry I didn't see your other messages, I just get soo many. I use a small grapple kayak anchor and just have the rope on an extention cord holder, super simple setup
