I think this young man is successful because he is trying to help people that aren't wealthy, have a home. He's not price gouging, didn't pack the homes in like sardines in a can, and he is letting people have a little say in how they decorate their rental lots. He's done a great job and I know his renters are grateful to have such a beautiful place to call home. Now he needs to write a small book with all of his tips on "Fighting City Hall, County Regulations, and Winning!" He could e-publish himself and I would def buy one.
Looks like sardines to me. What’s the point of owning a home if the ground underneath is an endless rental fee. He certainly had a vision & has done a great job considering. I just wish my fellow Americans would venture outside of the sardine neighborhoods.
@@enturnetrol7869 there are no cheap “real” houses out west. And what makes a house real anyway ?And by the way, we used to live in smaller houses before we started buying the McMansions. If you’re spending time outdoors you don’t need that much space. These are great.
@@adamanderson8838 Agreed, these houses are just as close together as the Mcmansions. If you have to pay to rent the land your home is on than this is no different than a mobile home park or RV park. I'd rather buy a small plot of land and put my tiny home on that. Than it really is all mine. As it stands I've seen some of the advertisements for a tiny home and they cost the same as a regular size house that's on it's own plot.
@@adamanderson8838 you're basically paying rent to the land for water, electric and trash. How else is he suppose to keep the place running? Of course he's gonna make somewhat of a profit. It's not like those homes were free to build. The builder of the homes gets a payment I'm assuming unless the owners pay in full.
This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. ru-vid.comUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.
They need to do more of these for those who don't want to live in apartments & pay skyrocketing rents this would be perfect and I wish I could do something like this here
Veteran's Community Project is building tiny home communities in Kansas City for military veterans who need a safe home to live in while transitioning from unsafe living conditions. They also provide support and services to help veterans whether it's finding a permanent home, employment, getting an ID, military benefits they are eligible for, etc. It's truly extraordinary how they are helping these men and women. They recently started a community in Boulder, CO and possibly Indianapolis IIRC.
Yeah it take a real dedicated group of people or a super strong man like in this video, he battled for years against everyone it seems. I have seen some inspirational videos on Kirsten Dirksens channel about some Portland communities in the city, they had support from the city to experiment.
How about you start it the price for land in his state and city for 5 acres is only 250,000 The mortgage would be around 2,000 which if you let four tiny homes sit there your mortgage is paid
I live in Phoenix, AZ and this is the first time hearing about Luxtiny. Very nice, so glad to find out about it. We need more of these in Arizona. Cost of living is sky high!
Yes, Lakeside is a really small community with limited healthcare, shopping, transportation, etc. I think it is about 3 hours from Phoenix, so not really practical for someone who travels by plane, needs specialized medical care, etc.
I’m grateful for people like this man who didn’t thrown up his arms and quit… he persevered and this is commendable… he’s helped a lot of people and built a community.
@@karenwebster2465 it’s a wonderful place to live. The climate is awesome! I have lived here 31 years. Raised my kids here. Now it is time for me to explore this country so I am building a skoolie. I would highly recommend this area for someone to live though.
I really enjoy seeing and learning of the people who are fighting to make tiny living possible. The community is beautiful. I wish them continued success Thank you for sharing 💕🙏🏾
The Mare Pasture in Sulphur Springs Valley, Cochise County, Arizona is building a Tiny Home Village. For more information contact us or follow us on IG instagram.com/themarepasture/ www.marepasture.com
LOVE this guy's idea, mission and drive. Many continued blessings for him, his family and all the residents. We definitely need more communities like this and someone pushing tonmake it happen.
The idea is excellent, but I really don't get why all these Tiny House Communities are still set up as RV parks. All these beautiful Tiny Houses lined up in rather dull rows. Why not set them up like a little village with meandering streets? It would have a much warmer feel to it.
@@bfdee1603 true its just a layout choice, but if you watch the Kirsten dirksens video on a Portland village community from 12 days ago , it shows exactly how it can be done with small houses, close together with a beautiful green shared common area. But I think that community was build by experienced architects and social activists in a city that support radical ideas for more affordable living. The man in this video had to fight his way all the way through , really impressed what he has achieved.
This is my dream! To build a community in my area in California. Thank you for sharing your story! Bless you, you family & community. I’m still on the hunt for the acres. This is life changing.
There needs to be more communities like this. I live in Canada and housing is so expensive for many people. This way more people could buy their own home and have a sense of pride. A small town in my area is actually building 3D tiny houses for the displaced youth.
Question will you own the land? If not, you will be paying higher prices down the road for renting the land or the landowner will sell the land to a corporation who only cares about making shit loads of money at any cost. They will force you to pay more money in rent or force you to leave because the rent is too high. Like they are doing right now to many trailer park residents and the landowners of the trailer parks.
My dream is to live in a tiny house in a community that everyone knows and cares of each other. Hopefully one day I will. Thank you Jenna for this nice video as usual 👍👐
I really like this. Every state needs more Tiny home places like this. In my community you are not allowed to have a vegetable garden. We have lots of rules.
It's hard to imagine a group of people sitting around a conference table and voting to have rules so hateful and ignorant, that they won't even let people grow food. If we don't fight back to turn things around, America is going to collapse.
That can be rescinded if the community is in need. Denial of access to any good thing is unfair, imo, access to all resources was given to all humanity to sustain the physical coat of armor that keeps the strength and power of each in good charge.
It always amazes me that after all the years of people living tiny, of all the videos about tiny living it just blows me away the level of ignorance about it. There’s no code adjustment, no anything. Congratulations! It was worth fighting for!
Did you miss the update on the approval for the universal building code include standard specs for tiny home builders, developers, etc. For the benefit of all, its a big win.
@@Rchl.Campos, That doesn't mean that it is automatically accepted by government officials in communities, cities or states. Local ordinances are written by local "politicians," or even neighborhood/subdivision builders. They can set the minimum square foot acceptable to build a home there.
This is a place I could definitely live . . . if I had any money at all to buy a tiny home. People like me who live in crummy, ancient & falling apart trailers because they're all they can afford, dream of such place. Well done! Keep up the good work. We need ten thousand people like you with vision and gracious generosity.
I love his attitude and his concept of community + affordability....well done!! I know that these folks are truly happy to be living the simple, good life.
What a great idea. Tiny house living is the future, especially with today's cost of living. Man I wish we had a community like that here in Quebec, Canada. I would live there in a heart beat. Good job to the man who created it, and thank you for sharing. Hopefully, it will inspire others to do the same.
Great job! Especially against all the obstacles that you had. They need these communities all of the country so people can afford their own home and feel pride in taking care of what they have!
I love what he’s done and so many would love to have this in Georgia. That first house that he said was a rental would be perfect for me especially if it’s under 75k.
I live in Ga as well. The reason we can’t have this are the zoning regulations. They want you to make the home at least 1500 sf in most counties…& put them on a minimum of an acre. Smh.
I love that guy, he fought through and won. He’s done a great thing. Hope he has help, can’t do that all alone, and raising his young children too. Didn’t see the mom, hope she’s ok. Beautiful community, God bless them.
Got the land real cheap, get rich, and then buy a huge house 20 miles away from there when it goes the way of the trailer park it will become with the depression around the corner.
Jenna, I love your videos of tiny home community entrepreneur / creators. This is an interesting subset of entrepreneurship. Love these guys' passion! Thank you for posting
This would be a great project to bring to Chicago. There are areas here on the South Side of the city that would be great. 🙏🏾 This is definitely Luxury Tiny living🏞️
For years i always want to leave in a RV and looking at what this many people came about tany homes i really like that idea i wish i could have money to do just what he did awesome
I’ve never commented here before but I just love this community! Very much worth the fight and the houses are beautiful in their distinctive buildings. As a Canadian I’d like to see a little more “green” around the houses and maybe even in between some of them but other than that I can honestly say that I’d love to live there! Bravo! GB 🙏😃👋🏻🇨🇦
It's a desert so keeping it green can be hard depending on the plants. If they aren't ment for the desert then they will use a lot of water to keep them green
@@rickmclee2889 Actually, it’s not in the desert, but in the mountains close to forests. They get snow in the winter and there is a ski resort nearby. Northern Arizona is different than the southern desert. But it is dry and water is probably an issue.
@Karen Prophet-Lacasse Watch the follow up video where the couple has two of these tiny homes in Luxtiny. That guy is helping to plant MANY trees all around the community so that in a few years there will be much more greenery.
We need places like this here in Australia as an option for affordable housing. Unfortunately, we have a lot of bureaucracy and outdated housing regulations that makes it difficult or impossible to do something like this.
Couldn't agree more. The price of housing over here is ludicrous and I feel so sorry for the younger crew wishing to enter the housing market. It'd be great to see these types of communities around Australia.
Well, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that the typical American household uses over 300 gallons of water per day but the typical tiny house uses about 1/10th that and is typically much more energy efficient...
There is enough people with money like you that could put money into community’s like this for us people that can’t afford the home and land rental prices of today❤️
I'm so glad this guy pushed for a tiny home community. Even though it was not easy I am happy he didn't give up. Now in 2022, more people are becoming homeless because of the high cost of apartment rent and also mortgages went up. With the cost of living skyrocketing in 2022 and salaries not going up, people are turning to other options to live.
A community playground and pool would be great additions. Also lighting and landscaping will put it over the top for desirability. Each home looks great. A follow up video to see the completed community would be nice.
I have had a dream for several years of making a tiny home community for artists/creators/artisans. I own land and even some outbuildings (such as they are), but I haven't the foggiest idea how one goes about turning any of this into a community.
@@MJthebookworm Do people want to live near a city of size, though? I'm just outside of a village of about 1100, and the nearest 'Larger' town (~60k) is 30 minutes away.
@@LQOTW it dont matter to me honestly..as long as stuff is not too far away ya know? I think anybody that lives in a tiny house community dont care about being so close to a city as long as they have semblance of exclusion
I know of some free information and resources to help me in my journey as I hope to provide this type of environment as well. Collaboration is a key to open doors for expanding community, empowering humanity...oops,I'll stop there
I love the creativity put into them. I was questioning why people don't use their regular homes as a creative pallet, BUT it quickly occured to me how much more economical it would be for a smaller space. I know I'm expired.
I lived in one of these trailer parks before when I was too poor to afford a house. Of course back then it cost less than a car to own one twice the size and the lot rent was a LOT cheaper lol. It's amazing to me what people will overpay for.
If only this was in Nevada... I am looking forward to purchasing my first, and hopefully only, tiny home. I love that LuxTiny isn't run like an HOA. The creator of this community knows what homeownership should be like, and he has made it happen. This is exactly what I am looking for in a Tiny Home and it's surrounding community.
Maybe reach out to this guy via snail mail and write him asking for advice on what your first steps could be. I am not sure which part of Mesa you are in, but maybe somewhere out along University Road and Ellsworth area could be pretty. The neighborhood along the lightrail closer to Tempe might be more forward thinking as well??? Here's a toast to your bravery and strength. We need more people like you and him.
This reminds me of Verano student housing at UCI. My 3 kids and 2 adults lived in a 2 bedroom apartment but it worked. They're some of my fondest memories because of the community. There were multiple playgrounds and of course the beach 10 minutes away, but he could put a pool and Jacuzzi in Luxtiny! I think it's awesome!!!
I know he has limited space to work with, but I'd love to see more of these tiny house communities in more unique layouts, with larger lots and more space between units. This layout feels more like a RV park.
This what I have been researching. I’ve been looking for land. The code business is what I’m trying to learn. We have a tiny community already here in GA but I want some land to do this for many of those of us that can’t afford these expensive houses nor who want huge homes especially those of us that are finally nestfree. I would love some info on what to ask, etc.
God bless you, Steve. You are an angel. This is exactly what I have wanted to be a part of for years; a tiny house community! We are presently in Alamogordo, NM, and are not thrilled for many reasons but mostly it is TOO HOT! We hope to be able to sell our house next year and we hope you will have a Phase 4. Thank you so much.
100k for this kind of living and still not getting to own ur little piece of land? Having to forever pay $4oo rent is the reason I don't live anywhere with HOA. It's still too much for what it is. This is just a fancy trailer park. There isn't anything wrong with trailer parks but let's call it what it is. I could see it working for some people and I actually think it's an amazing idea but the cities need to work with developers and make this not such a headache to create. Bottom line is our country sucks and no one should have to shell out this kind of money for something like this.
our country sucks? What? seriously lady, leave. or make it better. If you don't like this community or this kind of living make your own community. Don't blame the city, town, village, don't blame the county. Dont blame the state dont blame the USA. Be thankful grateful for what you have. Don't vote for fools.
One of the first and most important things that I see is that this is NOT a 'cookie-cutter' community. It's interesting that every home looks different and adds to the diversity of this community.
Tiny home communities are desperately needed throughout the US. But, the monthly lot rental in this community and most others is NOT affordable. This community as with so many others looks exactly like a mobile home park. The tiny houses are all very nice, but the lot size is even less than you get in many mobile home parks. This community is definitely NOT affordable for most of us who are desperately looking for a place to park our own tiny home. If the housing market bubble bursts its going to become more affordable to buy a traditional home. I'm hoping this will happen because so many young families have been priced out of the housing market.
Are you taking reservations for spots for phase 3 yet?? I want to be on a list. My husband and I will be out in AZ in January and would like to schedule a tour.
You might want to contact him via his own website just in case he doesn’t see your comment here. Good luck with getting a space there. He seems like a good guy and it would be a good place to live. I love the community gardening idea and also the gathering place he’s planning. A firepit would be good and maybe a small stage area for those who have musical talents.
Thank God for people like you and I'm a Black American who is a humanitarian who loves people and no matter who you are I see you as a human being. 🙏 YESSSSSS!!! 😊😘☺️

Eh not for me. If I were to live a tiny house lifestyle I want my own land and no neighbors that close. This is like a trailer park. I’m thinking he lives in one of those 500k homes .
He's doing a great job. I would love to live in this community. You can have a small garden and chickens if you like. This is really living this day and time. Peace of mine and security all together. Thanks for sharing.
I want to get a nice tiny home someday, hopefully soon. It's just the right size, easy to keep clean and less junk, furniture. There should be a lot more of these Parks. Tiny homes look better than Mobile homes, unless it's a nice new mobile home.
This would be perfect for my mom. She is on disability and considered retired, she just survived a major car accident and just wants to live somewhere she can afford. Plus she wants the ability to have a garden and chickens and everything this place has to offer. Living in the valley has been extremely tough for her. I hope we can get her a spot here.
Yes there are. Check out Incredible tiny homes. Jenna interviewed the owner of those tiny communities which are all set close to each other; it looks very nice. I would love to live there.
