You don't understand fungibility then - each dollar has a unique serial number too, but they can be used in place of each other.

@@ifwecouldvote if i had a bitcoin from satoshis wallet, i bet i could sell it for a lot more than the market rate. Same thing if you got a bitcoin from a drugdealer, it would probably be worth less than a newly mined coin.

This isnt true though, each bitcoin/satoshi doesnt have a unique ID, only wallets and keys etc do on the ledger. Bitcoin is fungible, wallets and keys are not
