Dimash is a Singer from Kazakhstan, who boasts a 7 Octave vocal range. He's University trained in Classical and Contemporary Music, hence the reason why you always hear Operatic Style and Pop Style mixing in his music. He have been vocally trained since he was 5 years old, which means he has over 20 years of training under his belt, that's more than what your average Modern day singer has. Dimash's most favoured sport is Swimming hence the reason for his immense lung capacity and air support to be able to hold high notes for a very long period of time. Dimash graduated from University with a Degree in Musicology, which shows that he's not an amateur, but a professional who worked hard throughout his life and thanks to his dedication and patience is the man you see before you today.

"Olympico" next to hear the three best opera singers in the world (Baritone, Tenor, and Soprano) all occupying the same body. It combines amazing arrangement and staging with the GOAT of vocalists, Dimash. Seriously, he has no weaknesses. I have heard so many of his songs, and I still get something new, wonderful, and shocking in every one. So glad this old man lived long enough to hear him. It is like having Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, and about 10 other of the greatest artists across numerous genres all merged into one slim 6' 3" demigod who has a stage presence and ability to convey emotion in 12 different languages. I first heard Dimash in summer 2019. Few months later I was on plane to Russia. I had to! I had to hear this live. Lucky me cause then covid came and any further opportunities were gone. I have got another ticket for Prague concert - it was supposed to happen in the spring 2020, then 2021 and now new date is April 2022. Fingers crossed.

Another enjoyable reaction. The song “SOS (d'un Terrien en détresse)” is originally from a French-Canadian musical called ‘Starmania’ from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my RU-vid recommendations for more than a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation" and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera, as well as vocal students, and professional singers. I just came across your channel (and subscribed), and like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, his delivery, as well as his stage presence. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of his talent and vocal ability. I am looking forward to your next reaction. By the way, some Dimash fans are almost cultic to the point of fanaticism and they get outright defensive and combative over any perceived criticism of their "object of worship." Quite sad really because I am fairly certain that Dimash himself would handle criticism with much more grace and kindness. They would fare well to keep in mind that Dimash is just a man, not God. I am simply an admirer of good music and talent, regardless of genre, and do not count myself among the Dimash fanatics, but I am utterly amazed by him. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and comes from a very musical family. He started singing and piano lessons at the age of five when he was found to have perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master’s class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music". He graduated with Honours, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career. Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. During his live concerts, he usually performs for more than two hours and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. His range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), according to some analysts, spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest are: vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during a live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His main genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto) pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g. screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, as well as Middle Eastern methods.

Have you listened to Olympico? That is my most favorite. Very rich! Then you’ve gotta listen to Opera 2. Vitas forbade him to sing any more of his songs after he went higher and outclassed him. When Dimash sings he IS the music. His whole body vibrates with it.
