Bach is of the Baroque period, ~1600-1750, and it was only in the Classical period, 1750-1800 that Mozart and Haydn started shaping the symphony genre. It that period they were mostly regarded as entertainment/background music (at social events). Beethoven was the one who shaped the genre into what we view it to be now.
and Vivaldi..??...back end of the 1600's, early 1700's....the world's first rock star perhaps..?? His 4 seasons, apart from its virtuosity ( and an inspiration for Paganini), was perhaps the first cohesive work of 'modern' music, rather than individual tunes, of which Bach was a master.
@@joshuawood362 Nah, this was classical, not rapid, so it's a serious game; you prepare, you need to sleep at night, you need to be in a very good physical shape.
style is so much better than Giri's style of avoiding tournaments to preserve rating and snatch the Candidates spot, also snatch a draw from the jaws of victory. Dubov style any day. For the viewers, and for the personal pride.
@@pranavg7466 it does make sense. MVL played and lost his spot, Giri didn't play and got the spot. That's the point. Style matters. Respect is given for the greater style, not for the dirty style.
This was a REALLY beautiful game! A symphony is really an apt metaphor, so much power through the harmony and subtle "little" moves. No single blunt move in the whole attack, gorgeous!
Imagine if every move was a pause the video moment though "Dubov begins the game with E4. Now I'll give you a couple of seconds to find the best opening response"
Thank you Antonio! A truly beautiful game. I remember GM Peter Svidler making the comment a year ago how great a Chess player GM Daniil Dubov is. GM Svidler may be playing against GM Dubov in this FIDE event, and GM Svidler is not so bad either!
his mentor morozevich is a great composer, of course he will teach to dubov how to compose beautiful play to win. Congrats to reach next round to dubov.
Nah, the responsibility would probably suppress these kind of playful master pieces, where he can take risks. My guess his current position, just out of top 10, don't know what it is now, is probably best for his style.
aahh, Dubov. Always love watching a creative mastermind at work❤ p.s. in the interview he was very critical with this brilliancy...really hope to see him in candidates one day...
That has to be the wildest, most open, staggering domination of another player that we have seen on this channel. Malakhov must feel like he's been allowed in the ring with Mike Tyson.
Thank you for this Antonio. You explained this game better than the rest available on RU-vid. I was looking for the intricacies of the lines and found it here. Some games just deserve the extra TLC you bring to the audience. Thanks and looking forward to more.
Dubov is the beauty, beauty is divine inspired cause you can see more time and you appreciate the rhythm. Is bach, is maradona, da vinci, apocalypse now, plato. Is something sublime that make us not think and admire leaving us with an ecstatic feeling and leave the world in the direction of the evolution. You are doing good Agda, thanks to make chess so popular and enjoyable without putting your ego.
The pros and cons of taking on c4. A central theme of the queen's pawn (and English) openings. Thank you Daniel and thank you Antonio. Very beautiful. I try and play like that, get a big opening advantage and lack the skill to exploit it.
dubov is young...and certailnly potential WC material....he has imagination, flair...and a solid foundation. It will be very interesting if he qualifies for the next candidates cycle.
The real beauty of grand Master chess is piece sacrifice. I think at lower levels we focus so much on saving pieces, and not calculating the advantages that may become available once your opponent takes a piece.
Poor Malakhov. Chess is brutal when all you do the entire game is respond to your opponents multiple threats, and you never get your own plans under way. We've all been there and it is no fun at all!
How about a meta-pause-the-moment-moment, where we're asked to pause the video to find out whether there'll be a pause-the-video moment later in the video?
