Ankit Agarwal, a Kanpur-based engineering graduate, established Phool in 2017 to convert temple floral waste into eco-friendly incense and wellness products. As a pioneer in tackling the 'temple-waste' issue, Phool daily collects 8.4 tons of flowers in Uttar Pradesh, transforming them into charcoal-free incense and biodegradable packaging using 'Flower-cycling' technology. Additionally, Phool produces Florafoam, a biodegradable thermocol alternative, in partnership with IIT Kanpur. Employing 73 women full-time, Phool aims to expand its workforce to 5,000 by 2022, with a production capacity of 400 incense sticks per hour. #India #uttarpradesh #ganga #gangariver #agarbatti #phool #flowers #wastemanagement #river
