What a wonderful podcast im very happy to see Jacques finally invited and tell us his story and share his wisdom, being a MOF (meilleur ouvrier de france) is the highest honor for a craftperson to get over here and it's an extremely difficult competition. Merci à toute l'équipe qui a permis de réaliser cette rencontre, amitiés de France.
Jacque is a gem! This is definitely my favorite SYWGF guest that you and Frenchy have had on. Doing a second listen through while typing this & it’s even better the second time through. Mr.Chocolate is so multifaceted, which makes him an amazing person to interview. Also, as someone who has lived on a houseboat too years ago, I had some flash backs when he talked about what winters were like. Oh man, when there’s a winter storm, you’re either cold or spending a ridiculous amount on heating no matter how well insulated your place is! 😅
Chef Torres taking inspiration from the color of home, and the colors of the original home of the chocolates (the cacao pod) is a beautiful statement about who he is as a person! ❤
After months of clowning Jacques and his tip(s), I can’t believe you actually got him to guest in the podcast lmao. Truly a milestone for the podcast for sure
Fattheads Unite!!🎉🎉🎉 Come on all my fatt fam, got a special guest and nothing could be better than to spend my morning with some of my most favorite friends! ❤ Welcome Jacque and do excited to see the banter!.. Just the tip!. Lol
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode with Jacques Torres! I watched it in its entirety (at roughly 2 in the morning) and really appreciated every second of it. He's really captivating, and so full of knowledge and wisdom. I love how clever he was with getting "Mr. Chocolate" put on his jacket after they told him he couldn't advertise his business. That shit is golden! haha Brian, you did a great job with handling the questions, and Frenchy....Well, you're Frenchy! Not much more that I can say but "thanks, guys!"
Frenchy is so humble for being someone that has worked with the greatest chefs. Not to say he isn’t one of the greatest, but wow what an impressive CV. Payard, Torres, Bouloud - legendary.
What a great podcast. I think the best episode. The podcast gets really good with guests in the industry. This might be something that make sense to have happen more often.
I have always respected and admired Jacques Torres. I first became aware of him when he was a guest on other cooking programs like Top Chef or Julia Childs. My kid convinced me to watch Nailed It! with him because Jacques was the co-host. It's so lovely to see him here and the respect that Paul has for him.
Yes! The Jacques Torres episode! We need the link for those bean to bar light color beans! Also liked the part of weighing ingredients direct to mix. Coming from fda regulated facility it works similarly, but much more controls.
What an amazing and genuine guy :D Loved this episode so much! I'd love to see if you can get Adam Ragusea on the podcast, if he'd even be interested, cause he's incredibly knowledgeable, I've learnt a huge amount from him. Can't believe someone was called Jamie Oliveoil, that was amazing. That person deserves free merch. Also can't believe the thumb pic! It was only on screen for 11 frames, but it was plenty of time to pause xD
When I was in college for theatre, my carpentry teacher cut off the tip of his thumb on the table saw while working alone literally days after telling us to never work alone in the shop because that's what could happen. Luckily (I guess) a few of us were across the hall waiting for showcall having dinner, and the two of us who weren't afraid of blood (and 1st aid trained) went to help/find the tip/clean up the blood. Never found enough of it for an attempt at re-attachment...
Learning the history of being a chef and the early discipline and arguably abuse to understand respect and technique is interesting to hear. I worked under a chef from France as a cook and it was brutal. I learned so much from that wanker too! ❤👍
Jacques looks amazing for 65! He and I are birthday twins (if Wikipedia got it right)! June 14th! I'm glad I have a good birthday twin I can name now. The only other one is Donald Trump 😢
@@SYWGFpodcast I also received my 'Handsome Thing' t-shirt which I rocked traveling to NC. I will wear it to La Rivage and Paul or you better be there...😂😂
