This was when Roger Federer was at the peak of his power. He didn't have any kids, before he got his illness (mono), before he got his back problems. He won 12 slams in 4 years, he was having seasons with 80 and 90 wins and just 4 or 5 losses. He was just Supreme...

This was the last time when federer was really healthy....In 2008 he got mono and after that yeah he won slams but I would say as far as that we never saw federer at his full potential inspite of his all accolades...he started figuring ou nadal in 2007,I think he got his 0-4 record to 6-8 in 2007 but due to that mono in 2008 it restricted him to reach his full potential
@cineastik8220
@cineastik8220 Год назад
Yet I still find it fascinating how he figured him out after the beginning of 2017 and then again am sad he didn‘t play Djokovic in those years, despite him being not in form, but simply to gain confidence against him. Who knows how some matches, specifically Wimbledon 19, would have gone with the mindset that he could beat the Serbian… would it even have been a five-setter…?
@jeffreylara3835
@jeffreylara3835 Год назад
@@cineastik8220 Fed went to a bigger racquet at the end of 2014, and started playing much better against Nadal. Then he perfected his backhand thanks to Lubijic. Australian final in 2017 saw Fed play his best against Nadal, and then again in the Wimbledon 2019 semi final, which he won in 4 sets. hat was vintage Fed against a very strong Nadal.

That mono really knocked the sails out of him, physically and mentally. It was unfortunately at that period when he faced Rafa at Wimbledon, and Rafa got into his head. Roger lit Nadal up a few times in the ATP finals. The 2012 RR match still makes me LMAO. The one time and only time Nadal won was in 2013 when Roger was coming back from his back injury earlier in the year. That was also the only time Nadal ever beat Roger indoors. The GOAT debate rages on...but Nadal never won the ATP Finals while Roger won it 6 times and Djokovic 5 times (so far...I actually don't think he'll ever get to 6, but never say never).
