Yeah, he's not like full throwing it, he's just playing it loose, going for the hero shot at all times. He's either going to do something insane or give everyone else a chance. Better for the content either way on the individual challenges. Then in team play or when there are other pros in the lineup he shows what a beast he still is.

I have a pretty similar relationship with my CEO. We've known each other forever, long before he started our company and brought me in as talent. I'm in a senior/director position but at the end of the day he's still my boss on company time. I remember early on we were hashing something out and full yelling at each other in the middle of the office without thinking much of it because we bicker about shit as friends all the time. After we were done i heard this brand new girl from marketing whisper to her colleague asking if I was going to get fired. Everyone who heard it just started laughing because they knew two minutes later we'd be eating lunch together arguing about baseball or something random. We learned to keep any actual disagreements behind closed doors, but we both still talk mad shit to each other the rest of the time. Only problem is when newbies don't understand where the line is or try too hard to be smartasses. Tends to weed out who's got common sense and who doesn't though...
