RIP Sparta. I love you with all of the world and the world had a lot of love for you. You've been with me for 13 years, through so many ups and downs in my life and you were there to comfort me and celebrate with me for all of those times. Thank you my boy! I love you, I'll miss you and of course, I'll never forget you. I mean, I can't. Look what you did! I just shared you with the world but you did this! You were something else buddy. Rest easy my boy.
RIP Sparta . May your family find peace knowing you are free . Your memories will last forever . 1 cat left a huge impression on the world . We will miss you big guy . Hugs to the fam
That is a whole heart truth, had a dog pass away recently who was around when I was 12. Now, I'm 19 and she passed. Really puts perspective on how far you have come as an owner and as a person.
My cat passed away the same way. Had a stroke when we were gone and was paralyzed from the waste down and went blind. Very upsetting. Had that cat for 14 years.
Mine had a stoke I believe as well, but was not paralyzed. For the final three months or so he was fairly off, just looked sidetracked sometimes, and liked to lay in odd places he’d never previously hung out. Then one day he just had a thousand yard stare and would walk straight into walls and stay there, couldn’t walk anywhere other than straight. I had to catch him from walking straight off my bed. He pooped as well. Took him straight to the vet and put him down... he was in his mid teens.
I would be sad to but at the same time he lived a great life and 14 years is a lot. I would be crying and sad but happy at the same time if you get what I am saying. I have 3 cats to if your wondering. I have had 2 cats that died. One died of old age and the other one had cancer but was like 14. Sad day
It really does hurt losing animals. Animals are amazing companions, they never question your intentions, they never roll their eyes at your or complain. It really hurts losing them. They are family. Even if it's just a hamster.
El Ka well unless you have severe ADD and were distracted while he clearly mentions he took Sparta to the vet, go to the video after this and head to the 3:00 minute mark where he mentions taking Sparta to the vet.
I am a construction worker/ heavy equipment operator. I served in a ranger battalion in the army when I was young. I've spent time behind bars, I've been divorced. Through it all I held my head high and held strong. But when my buddy Jack, a Manx cat, died I cried like a baby. The love of a dog is special but when a cat loves you, that is a truly wonderful thing. God bless you and Sparta. The internet is forever and therefore, Sparta lives forever. Best wishes, I know how you must feel.
I remember watching the Mean Kitty song when I was 5 years old. Now I'm 12. Thank you Sparta for filling my heart with love. We will all miss you very much
I can’t believe he’s gone, for the last 15 years I’ve been watching this little cat grow up & loved everyone minute of it. I can’t even deal with this right now I am balling my eyes out for him. He was our Mean Kitty, who was also the sweetest, kindest, most welcoming, loving Kitty ever. So long Mean Kitty, you were & still are loved more than you could even know. At least now Sparta & Loki are together again, where ever they are now.
No one remembers sparta? This guy made the mean kitty song in the early youtube days. It is a classic. Look it up. RIP sparta. Loosing your pet can be worse than loosing a human sometimes.
To Cory: I really want you to know that you sharing Sparta with us for all these years had been such a beautiful thing. I started watching your channel shortly after my cat, Oliver, passed away -- around the time you started making Sparta videos. He was very special to me and I was very devastated by his passing. Sparta really helped me to cheer up. I soon adopted another cat, CiCi. In Feb of this year we lost her, too. So again, to cheer myself up, I came to check Sparta out. Sparta and you have always been light and happiness and wholesome joy that's always been needed, especially right now in the sad times we are in. Losing Sparta feels like losing a friend we never got to meet. I know the pain you and your family must be in. I know how badly it hurts to say goodbye to a beloved feline friend. I said it before, but I'll say it again, please know we are all grieving with you. We loved Sparta and he'll be missed. He'll also forever be THE Mean Kitty. Another will never take his place. Thank you, again, for sharing Sparta with us all these years. Thank you for bringing us the joy he helped spark. Thank you for those minutes, each video, where everything was just good and pure in a world that sometimes can be draining. We're with you, all of your fans and all of Sparta's fans. To your wife & kids: It's always great seeing you all in videos and it was quite obvious how much Sparta loved all of you. I know you're grieving too, so I wanted to extend my condolences to you as well. My hearts with you all! Rest in Peace, Sparta
Sparta came into my life at a young age. Children now have baby shark, and I had Sparta. My childhood was no doubt better. I’m now 14 and I came back to the song after years to see that Sparta passed away. Rip Sparta 😭😢
10 years from now. Kids that had baby shark will say this exact same thing. You didn’t have it better. You only think so because it’s YOUR life and YOUR nostalgic memories. Anyone that lived from the 60s to the 2010s says this. Your nostalgia is blocking your vision and that’s poison for the soul.
@@cheddis3249 it’s imbecile. And yes I agree I love the Sparta song way more. But 10 years from now when kids today don’t even know about this song (but they do know the baby shark song) they’ll be saying exactly what we are right now.
@@Drunkenmallsanta yeah I kinda realized the spelling thing right after I sent it. The only thing is there is no real idol behind baby shark. There is no meaningful figure that can pass away, and there is no true nostalgia in it (in my opinion):
I’m so incredibly sorry. My heart just broke for you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in such a big way. Loki will be waiting for Sparta on the other side ♥️
Unfortunately I see this video 2 years too late.. but I want you and your family to know.. that Sparta had a nice life with you. He was a good cat. He enriched your life and you his. A pet could hardly wish for anything better. A loving family who will be there for their beloved animal to the end. I hope you are doing well so far and Loki too. Best wishes A friend from Germany.
My six year old daughter absolutely LOVES Sparta and makes me play the Mean Kitty song all the time. He may be gone but he'll never be forgotten. Thanks for sharing Sparta with the world.
I haven't watched Mean Kitty Song in years and this just showed up in my recommended. So sad! We all have to say goodbye eventually. :( Everyone loves Sparta.
same here, it is never easy saying goodbye to family, human or fur babies alike - its devastating :( Sparta will be over the rainbow bridge playing with all the other kitties now :) xx
I have only just found this channel and I don’t think a lot of people will care if they are or not because this is still incredibly sad to watch. And you using the term “Only Og’s” is just condescending to new people here just trying to share their condolences to him and his family
I feel you man, my cat died of a brain tumor about a year ago and it was one of the saddest moments of my life, losing a friend like that can realy destroy you, but death comes to all of us and all that you have to cope with it is the happiness of knowing that you've given him a happy life.
This hits so hard, as a previous cat owner who was inseparable with his cat, and from a old-time fan of Mean Kitty. I feel ya Man... im sorry for Sparta.
Lemme just say, it takes a real, true man to cry in front of not only hundreds of thousands of people, but in front if his family. So much respect for you.
@PW's Dedicated Student Cory told on his instagram smpfilms that he had a stroke due to underlying heart disease. About 15 minutes ago Cory was brought inside to say his goodbye's I'm so sorry. But we'll have to face the truth no matter how sad it is. 😢
In 2003, I had a blue tabby I named Sparta. When I found your music video, it was the most amazing thing, to have found another tabby named Sparta that was famous. I lost my Sparta a month ago, having been twenty years old. I just did a search for you guys, to see your Sparta, and came across this. I’m so sorry, I had no idea, I wasn’t a regular follower, but I feel such a connection to you now. She was everything to me, I’d had her more than half my life. I dont sleep well at night. I watch one of my fav shows and hold her urn against my face, and hold her paw-imprinted slab of clay, until I finally fall asleep. Trying to find new meaning, a fire worth carrying. I hope you’re doing well.
I've watched Sparta since I was about 7. I'm now 19! He's lived such a good and exciting life and I bet, even if it is the end, he'll be satisfied with his family around him. We love you, Mean Kitty!
It seems as if are childhoods are finally leaving, we've grown up. We've said our goodbyes, and then they pass on. But we will always remember them, and we will always be able to hear there voice again, see there smile and laugh with them, even if they're not there.
Lost my cat the same way too. One day he was fine, the next he couldn't walk, and seemed to lose awareness of things more and more as minutes passed. Much love to all here who suffered the pain of losing pieces of their hearts.
My Luke died yesterday. He had the same thing, saddle thrombus. A blood clot that paralyzes a cat's back legs. Luke was panting like Sparta also. The vet was so kind and sent him to the Rainbow Bridge as sweetly as she could.
Oh Cory, my heart is breaking for you. I lost my childhood cat when I was 16, almost 10 years ago, and she had a seizure in the middle of the night when we were all asleep, and all 4 limbs weren’t working. I know exactly how you feel right now and I can’t be more sorry. Sparta has been in our lives (and yours) for an amazing amount of time and we’re thankful to you for sharing him to us and the world. Whatever happens next for Sparta, he’ll never leave our hearts and his memory will never ever fade. God bless you Mean Little Kitty. Bite on wherever you go next, you warrior! 💗
I’m so sorry Cory! I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. I’ve been watching Sparta since I was 15 years old and now I’m 27. Love him and your videos and now I got a female Sparta (she looks like him too) who just turned 3 last month. My deepest thoughts and prayers to you and your family ❤️😿
I lost my cat of 16 years in August 2022.. seeing them grow old and get sick is the hardest thing esp when you have to say good bye to them. I am sorry for your loss. My cat couldn't move either and would always lay down. When I was giving him a bath since he had pee all over him, right after I picked him up he dead in my arms.
You've given Sparta the best life he could ever have lived. No matter what happens, he'll always be there to guard you and your family. Love from us all to you.
Omg I just showed the mean kitty song to my stepdaughter and saw this 😭 poor baby. Im so so so sorry, it’s so hard to lose our babies. I have loved the videos for so long, I can’t believe I’ve been watching a lot of your videos since high school and I’m 30 now. Time flies way too fast. I fell off watching your videos for a bit and I know this is a bit late but I’m sorry for your loss. What an amazing saga this cat lived.
This is why I’ll never get a pet, I can’t handle this man, no matter how lonely I get, it’s better to be lonely forever than to lose something which will leave you even emptier
I lost a Chihuahua poodle mix long ago, she had been with us since she was a puppy - an expensive puppy at 200 dollars - but we loved her dearly. Sadly, me my brothers, my sister and our parents were all either at school or at work. So, when we came back home.. she wasn't moving, wasn't barking, nor acting like her usual Karly self.. she died August 2017 because of a heartworm
I’m a farmboy, from Cuba. Over the years of burying animals, and sometimes even euthanizing them. I’ve gathered a new understanding of life and death. We’ll all have to confront death eventually. It’s the price we pay for the incredible gift of life. So I’d suggest to you, don’t think only about death. But life as well. Every second, alive. Is a blessing. I would always be sad when my animals died, but later comforted in the fact that they were ALIVE, they walked, ate, had happiness and people who cared for them. A lot of living organisms never received a chance at life, and was destroyed before its creation. That’s how I look at it. Death is beautiful, because death is a result of being ALIVE in the first place.
This is exactly how my cat was behaving and looked when my family made the decision to take him to the vet, put him out of his suffering. We all snuggled him, talked to him, and he seemed to understand and be happy and calm down because we were there with him. After a minute or two, he drifted off peacefully, the last thing he heard was 3 of his family saying "You're such a good boy. We love you" and petting his favorite spots. Thank you for sharing this moment, and I'm so sorry. Love you dude. Cats are special, and I know my little buddy is waiting for me up there. Sparta is waiting for you too.
my parents had a cat before i was born. his name was little. he ended up getting a rare cancer and tumors spread all over his body. so sad. he died when i was 8, almost 5 years ago, but i’ll never forget the times he was with me. when i had nightmares he would always be in the hallway and i would grab him and cuddle with him and he always left after i was asleep. i wish animals lived longer.
This same thing happened to my cat. I took her and had her put down. Never did find out why that happened to her, but she was paralyzed, and could not use her back legs. Rest in Peace Sparta and Miss Lucia.
I suddenly remembered the original song a few days ago, it's very saddening to see this baby go. I like to think he visited every person who enjoyed his antics all those years back and that's why I remembered the song. Rest in peace, Sparta, you weren't a mean kitty at all.
He looked like he had saddle thrombosis (blood clot between his legs) I had to watch two cats suffer with this. And it is the most horrible thing I've ever experienced. :(
I only experienced it with one cat, I can't imagine it happening with two. It definitely goes down as one of the worst things I've had to experience, as well. I concur wholeheartedly
@Julia Milford Are vets working on awareness of issues related to using clumping cat litter? Cats licking literal cement off their fur and then suffering from urinary blockage, kidney failure, and maybe other issues?
"If it's time to go, remember what you're leaving. Remember the best." A certain quote from a certain show. I hope this helps a bit in your situation. Sparta lived a good life, and he is now a story and a memory in our hearts.
I used to watch Sparta years ago, then time went on and I just kinda forgot about this channel... I saw a reddit post about RU-vid channels people miss, and The Mean Kitty came up. I remembered him, and I went to check out the videos again. This is the first one I watched in a very long time, and I'm still crying. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you and Sparta for bringing joy to millions of people throughout the years. My cat, Ella aka LB aka Little B*tch died about 7 or 8 months before Sparta did, in 2019. I still miss her so much. She was a little rough to start off with, but over the years we grew very close and she was my best friend. I still feel a hole in my heart where she was. She was a good kitty.
My sweet boy, Chip passed away in October. I was blessed to be able to have a service come to my home to help him cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge while I held him in my arms. There was no fear; just peace. My husband died a short while ago and Chip was a huge comfort to me through especially the hardest part at the beginning. After Chip passed, “The Kitty Distribution Network” immediately sent out a kitten in need of rescue. He was dumped on my sister’s back porch with a bowl of water and dry dog food. I had not planned on taking in a kitten. I was interested in an older cat who was beyond the kitten stage. My big hope was a cat that needed a new owner because of a death in their family or an elderly person couldn’t care for them anymore. I would have been happy to bring the cat to visit their owner wherever they were if I could. However, I got Percy, named for his Persistence. He was 7-8 months old. He’s an absolute beastie right now but his moments of being wonderful are worth the mean kitty stage! Sparta continues to bring joy even now. Losing a pet is losing a family member. Though I opened my heart to Percy, it will never stop loving Chip, (or Teddie, or Opie, or Isabelle, or Toby and Skittles, and Elvira and Jasmine, and Snoopy and MamaBaby and so on and so on…). I was blessed to know a lot of wonderful cats because we used to rescue. We rescued over 120 cats and all got good homes! Along with my husband, my Chip is especially part of the hurt and the joy of my every day now. I am sad but blessed. Thank you for posting your joy and your pain with Sparta’s life and crossing. Clearly you have a good and kind heart to love your furbaby so much that they would break your heart so much one day. It’s still worth all the sad that comes with saying goodbye. May your blessings continue always!
Damn this year has been a year that's for sure.... I remember when I first started watching your videos... the first video I ever watched was titled "The Mean Kitty Song" and I will never forget it!! Still love it to this day. I grew up with Sparta and I will never forget him. Rest in peace Kitty.. Thank you for making our childhoods amazing.. We love you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
