Mindful Design is timeless and irreplaceable. Thank You to all that have had a part in preserving this Gem of American Architectural History and sharing it here with us as well.

BEAUTIFUL. Fantastic restoration and taste. Absolutely no criticisms here regarding the house and furnishings, and I was very interested in the commentary by the owners. I just wish the video was longer and showed more of the house and maybe the floor plan.

Love it! So happy they found the right designer to assist in the restoration - and those glazed bricks - just wow!

Those glazed brick walls remind me of a Piet Mondrian painting.

Its like a West coast Eichler where the house is built around an atrium. Glad they restored it. They should get a property tax break for not destroying the original look. Here in Southern California Eichler owners who’s houses were restored get a big property tax break as long as the exterior of the house remains original and their are no additions.

What a great looking house! It has the aura of an ashram; peace and tranquility are quite at home here. An epitome of understated elegance. Peace-inducing garden and pleasant landscaping have contributed greatly to the overall effect of calmness around it. The earth Goddess, mother Earth, is dancing in content here, and so will guard this house and shower its residents with that priceless gift called peace of mind. A very nice video, and thank you very much for uploading it. Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania

Great house & renovation is the answer, like that its in Detroit. My daughter has a house from the late 30's that was on the cover of Architectures Digest in the 60's, she's in a Detroit suburb. Lots of treasures in style & history that should not be overlooked.

The back ground music is LOUD and TERRIBLE. I rather SEE and LEARN more more about the house or home. PLEASE redue this. There must be much more. Thank you

Thank you for sharing a beautiful restoration with thoughtful furniture. What a rare find! Sadly, because of all the glass, homes like these don't have the wall space for today's televisions and they become obtrusive to the design. In this case, of course, it belongs in the living room but does ruin the impact of a hught stonlabe s hearth and it blocks the view to the next room (dining?) which looks like it was a key design detail. Just quibbling. Beautiful!

Good for them. Sadly the way these days is to renovate rather than restore, totally changing history.

Why were the others torn down? Did they not age well? That house looks like a heating cooling nightmare! Especially in Michigan!

Agree....LESS showing TALKING HEADS, MORE SHOWING HOUSE while using home owner narration.

Great little film about a great house, but less music please when people are talking. And that was especially annoying music. I don’t see how it helps at all.

Built back before the OPEC oil embargo, when energy was cheap and the government had not imposed R value requirements on houses.
@persebra
@persebra 3 года назад
i guess they had the windows triple glazed.
@deezynar
@deezynar 3 года назад
@@persebra That's not cheap. The oil embargo killed the modern movement. Glass has made a bit of a comeback since then, but because of the extra cost to over insulate the roof and walls, to allow for the loss through the windows, even through triple panes, the sticker shock has reduced the desirability of modern architecture.
