I had that mic before. Such a solid investment. When I had it, there was no ground loop noise when I touched it. Maybe it's a manufacturing issue that caused yours to be that way. Similar to Podcastage's review of the PreSonus PX-1 where it had some handling noise issue before he got another piece. I also checked its manual. And based on its frequency graph, it seems to have a similar frequency response as the Neat King Bee microphone. It's possible that they both use the same capsule, making the BY-M1000 a solid cheaper alternative.
i have maono pm500 it have ground loop issue and xlr connector screw loose more easily, so boya and maono have the ground loop issue. But i already buy it 😕 my solution is dont touch the microphone. i think chinese are recycle their microphone formula, i think by1000pro and dm500 sound very opposite, remind me of pd400x and pm500
I appreciate this review a lot. Sad to hear there's that touchy (heh) issue since I've been eyeing this mic for an upgrade, but it should be *possible* to skirt around. I'll have a look at your review at that dynamic BOYA mic too since I'm considering that one too (though it is quite a bit more pricey)
The Dynamic is actually really solid! I was quite impressed with the sound and build. I think it really gives the SM7b a run for it's money in terms of sound quality. The noise issues on this mic were a little disappointing.
I bought this mic last year it was a special and its solid, I looked for a lot of reviews and this made me skeptical but I bought it and I dont get that noise he is talking about I guess it depends with your setup.
@@andydafro5285 I know from experience that the noise is real, I had a mic exhibit the same issue where touching it induces some kind of ground noise. It ended up being a cable mismatch issue. The mic ports on my mixer is meant for unbalanced connections only. Balanced cables "work", but introduces a higher noise floor and the touch ground noise issue. (I don't know the technical reason yet.) So who knows if it might be that. But even then, it's something quite trivial for noise reduction to deal with after recording.
Hello, I'm thinking of getting a mic for VOs for Radio Broadcast at our school. Right now I'm thinking between the Boya BY-M1000 and the Maono PM320s XLR. Both seem to be condenser microphones but I really can't decide which of those is a better option. Which one would you prefer?
I don’t have any experience with the Maono, so I can’t offer much advice. I believe both to be quite similar in price and manufacturing so my guess is they would perform similarly
I bought this microphone and I realized that it sounds with a boost in the low frequencies and it sounds with a kind of emptiness. Apart from the fact that it has low volume, I want to think that mine is damaged.
I haven't used the Shure before, but I would likely recommend it because the noise issues with this mic are a little disappointing and I cant imagine Shure having problems like that.
Honestly it’s tough to beat the price! I think it has a decent overall sound. Maybe a tiny bit harsh in the upper range, which may make it a little fatiguing to listen to for a long period of time, but overall I find it to sound quite nice!
