I can relate Im a ford guy I have a 2020 GT500 but I had to get the c8 Z06. Im thinking GM could have given this car a whole new name and left the Corvette badge alone.
I totally agree with you on this. They should’ve kept building front engine Corvettes and called this thing something totally different. I’ve been saying that for 4 yrs! I’m in love with my C8 Z07 ✌🏼
I'm partial to my Fords too, but I have to admit I'll never get sick of listening to that engine sing! We've got to get Kaleb's thoughts on the C7 Z06 vs C8 Z06.
@@petersonperformanceCO Comparison videos typically do pretty well! Two red Corvettes with the Garden of the Gods in the background would make a great thumbnail photo 🔥
I have the AWE Swithpath exhaust not Titanium but sounds great also no CEL paired them with an Eventuri Intake and Soler Perf Portd Throttle Bodies - decided not to do perf Cats - maybe in the future
@@Be_Dat1dude Same as my mods but I also have Soul Sport Cats. So no CEL yet? How many miles have you driven since adding the parts? I took my ported throttle bodies back off because I think it literally made the car too quick on the low end. Every time I would hit it at 6k RPM the traction control would kick in. Now it just sticks and goes. I guess More HP isn’t always the solution. The cats are the #1 mod that will blow your mind. You have to do them!!!
@@2020matrix8 Yep No CEL (knocking on Wood) I have driven 5200K in total and north of 1700 since the mod's. The low end power is definitely there. I did a recent 0-60 @ 2.5 but could only get it one time the rest were either 2.8, 2.9 or 3.1 (not in order). Besides the added sound what did the CATS give you - this would likely be the last bolt one mod I do. I think the biggest plus has been the Eventuri Intake
@@Be_Dat1dude yep the cats would complete it. Everyone else that I know that has done the cats get a CEL every 1000 miles or so but we just clear them with the cheap code reader and go on our way. If I was only forced to be able to do one mod and one only it would have to be the cats 100%.
Cool vid awesome car. I think a big factor to the grip discussion is the relative lack of torque and flat plane power delivery inherently supports grip coming from the racing world. I too love flat plane engine nothing screams like them. Haven't driven a C8z yet but imagine they are good cars. Italians make great FPC engines as well...
That’s very true. By the time the power is being delivered (4k rpm-ish), already rolling along pretty well. The power delivery is so smooth and progressive. Very predictable! We have also ProCharged base model C8s and they spin the tires a little easier (until we put on Signature wheels and Toyo R888R tires haha). It’s been a debate at the shop between N/A C8Z or boosted C8. Both are very fun and feel extremely planted to the ground! Thanks for watching!!
lowered and exhaust changed lol. this, after GM spent how long working on the exhaust and suspension for this car? sorry i absolutely don’t understand burning cash on either of these for this Z06 which is utter perfection as is. Its obnoxious in Race mode, it doesn’t need an exhaust swap.
The im a “Ford” or “chevy” guy in 2024 is a low key fanboy. Great cars are great cars, celebrate what they both offer in the realm of high perf and be happy. Geez
@@kennethantisdel9850 have you ever heard a Z06 in person or going by you at 7k or 8k in second gear? If you had, you wouldn’t think it sounds like a honeybee. Sounds more like Zeus riding a pack of Ducati’s, pure thunder. Speakers are only able to capture the high-pitched sound of this car. That’s unfortunate because you can seriously feel this car in your chest when you’re close to it or in another car when it goes by. But to be fair, I do have an aftermarket titanium, exhaust and high flow cats, but still.
I agree with original comment. I have owned a C8Z since last summer first FPC engine and think it sounds great from outside and harsh and raspy like a honey bee from inside cabin. Great car, think lots of pushrod V8 predecessors sound better
@@jameswillard1 Throw a Titanium, exhaust and high flow cats on it, Then you will then get the low thundering rumble all you guys are missing. totally transforms the car, especially on the low tone.
Incredible machine, not here to bash that, but when you talk sound, not even close to my friends 67 L88 Corvette, headers and side pipes, not even close to the C6 and C7 Z06''s or ZR1's, call me old fashioned or whatever I'll take that cross plane thunder any day, the single cam push rod design is a superior design, dual overhead cam design on a V engine can never be as good, my opinion and experience, all piston engine records are held by pushrod V8's, almost all Chevy.
