I've been looking for a car stereo for my 2007 dodge charger srt8. Im leaning towards kenwood or JVC, but I found that Sony has a single din dsx-gs80 with 100w x 4 built in amp
You can’t go wrong with Sony and if single din works for your setup go for it. I prefer the screen size of double din plus my cobra already was setup for it. How many volts is the pre out? I assume car play isn’t on your wish list but I’m sure it’s Bluetooth.
You can.. kinda.. I did change the background screen of the radio itself to show the SVT logo and cobra snake. and yeah that will be there.. but as you said Carplay looks like Carplay no matter what.. But you can swap to the radio display and still keep carplay functioning.. so yea.. I just never do,
It's not terrible.. but it's longer than the Kenwood in my DD and that radio was $200 cheaper.. but I sent a video to kenwood and crutchfield.. they said it's normal.. since this radio uses different software.. wired or wireless it is still longer.. .not ridiculous but when I'm used to like 1-2 sec in the daily this feels long. It's connecting bluetooth and to carplay.
The whole car stereo thing in these cars is that, people will see the car, they don't care what you are listening to. 😂They just like the exhaust notes. But as for personal comfort, I totally feel you getting the sound system like you prefer it. 😸👍I am running 2 12's in mine... Just for when I want to feel the music.
yeah I hear you on the 'love the car sound' thing.. I feel that way too.. but.. I do like my music and want some creature comforts like hands free phone. Thank you for watching!
Great question.. the first kenwood was the Excelon DMX809S which is the higher version of this one.. the DMX8709S... it has 5v preamp vs 4v but most of the other stuff isn't valuable to me. When I installed the 809S the fact that it had such a short body made it impossible to use the rear bracket on the radio.. so it would pivot up and down. Crutchfield told me there was nothing I do with it and to return it for something else. It wasnt until I went for the 8709S that I realized that I could make it work with some foam padding. Hoping that helps others out there with a short body radio in a Mustang.
If you remote start your car and then get in like 5 minutes later does it auto connect or do you need to connect it? My pioneer will not connect unless I go into the menu and select it if I remote start it first
Is this true wireless or do i have to plug it in to access all features for car play. On line it says wireless but this guy at the store said it’s not full wireless?
No it wont be, you will change your phone and will be too new and incompatible and you will need to change it again. The Android radio and apple car loose compatibility the new phones models and there will not be a way to update it to make it work, simple as that.
I truly hope you aren’t right, but then again if the newer iPhones/ android presents a connectivity problem with my radio, likely everyone will face the same issue.
