butterfly doors are hinged on the A-pillar, latch on the B-pillar, and open forward and up. Gullwing doors are hinged on the roof, latch by the kick plate, and open directly up

Not to mention Ford revived the Capri nameplate (iconic Group 2 and 5 racer) into, you know what it is, a freakin’ CROSSOVER EV!! Being brutally honest, looks not too bad in my opinion as I don’t mind crossovers, it just doesn’t deserve the Capri name, much like the Mustang Mach-E. They should’ve just called it the Mach-E instead. Get what I’m saying?

This car was sold in Europe and I owned one in the UK. Here we say Sera the same as the name Sarah. We already had a 'See-era', here in the UK, the Ford Sierra. In the UK we also had a Cosworth Variant which I think is where the fox body mustang comes from, or vice versa I'm not sure.

Saw one of these a few years back, out of all places, at my hometown's local summer festival. The owner was a pretty chill old guy and he let me get in the car after seing me geeking about how old school sci-fi it looked. It was one of the rare left side driver seat ones, much more rare it being in Spain, with an spanish license plate, these cars weren't sold here. Saw the guy last year and asked him about the car, he told me he got into an accident and totalled it. RIP BBS wheeled, candy red Toyota Sera. I would've asked the guy if he would seel it to me, but I got ther too late.

I had the pleasure of owning one of these in the mid 00's. Honestly, it's okay, but not great. Handled incredibly well, no power, cool doors but only for about a week, far from the best Toyota from the same era. The only reason I like them is, that the full glass roof makes "star gazing" incredible. Definitely nothing to do with me losing my innocence in one.

these type of doors are not featured on any production Lamborghini, but afaik were first featured on the McLaren F1 and other McLaren models, and later LMP hypercars.

You asked about gullwing and butterfly doors, well gullwing doors will go straight up and look like wings haging on top of the car, butterfly doors will sort go up while curving, or will just be like: ➡️ _\ the reason these are considered both is because they have the massive shape that takes up like half the roof like gullwing doors, but the open like butterfly doors, I think it's awesome

Even if that door quip was bait for a comment, I'll bite. The naming convention was more based on where the hinges are located versus how they open. Gullwing=bird-like shoulder joint, vertical opening. Butterfly=insect joint, opens corner-based hinges, often accompanied by struts. Dihedral hinges on the other hand are top of the food chain. Opens out and rolls forward on the same hinge system without requiring extra opening distance. Best used with a wide chassis that still needs to be accessible in a standard parking stall or street-side stall.

Coming from a car car Gullwing and butterfly doors are two different things the doors on that are butterfly doors like a McLaren. Gullwing doors go up like the Delorean two different things. And no they aren’t Lambo doors as you said, they’re McLaren doors, Lambo doors are scissor doors because they go up and out and not as much
