Thoughts on how this would perform in the back/sidecountry?

I feel like "the mothership" is above and beyond in tech. my DC Ply was made there, and the board just feels so much more lively than anything else I've owned. Hoping to get my hands on this thing soon!! Thanks for the review brotha
@SearchofSnowboarding

Yeah agreed, I've been noticing a lot more mothership boards on the mountain recently

do you think I would boot out with the 161 with a size 13 with low boot profile? I like to carve harder but not to the extreme level. btw i ride +18/-6

How does compare to the BSOD? Looking at the stats sheet on their website it looks like it’s fairly similar and it holds up well in park. Not sure if I should cop this or a mega merc
@SearchofSnowboarding

BSOD is going to be stiffer and has been more fun for me in the powder. I actually like carving on the BSOD better to

Would you reccomend this or the Jones Startos? I am a intermediate to advanced rider and just want a do-it-all board that can take me anywhere on the resort. Barely go in the park or ride switch.
@SearchofSnowboarding
@SearchofSnowboarding 6 месяцев назад
Both are very fun. The Strata will be stiffer and have a tighter sidecut so tighter turns and more aggressive of a ride

I grew up riding Burton Customs in Tahoe in the late 90s, been surfing the last 25 years in Hawaii, but planning some snowboarding trips trying to catch up with all the tech. Last time I rode my late OG 90s custom it went rad and I still beat everyone down the mountain. All I know is cambers I suppose. I see Capita makes this board in a 156W and my 90s Custom is a 156. I’m 5’11 165lbs, size 10 vans boots. You think since this board is, “narrower than normal”, going a 156 wide over the 157 is the way to go? I looked at the specs the side cut radius are the exact same. The nose and tail are like 6 to 8mm wider, and the waist width is 7mm wider. Is the Aeronaut 7mm narrow than a, “normal”, board? I don’t know anything about specs. I just charged the Custom all my life as my board of choice growing up. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ Also, is Burton dead? When I was a kid it was heads and shoulders over everything else. I got an Orca based on a recommendation, but would like to have a new two board quiver for my trip. I’m an old school “jacket flapper”, resort rider who likes pow and side kicks. Thanks for your thoughts.🙏🤙✌️

Im 5'11 / 165lbs with a size 9. I got a size 155cm and I feel like it is the absolute best board for me. Coming from a kazu pro, this is very playful and forgiving and I don't know know why other reviewers suggest that it is such an aggressive board. The edges are the only thing aggressive about it. But it is still a very easy going board I find. 180 nose butters are so dang fun!

I’ve been thinking about settling on the DOA from last season in a 161w or 163w, I wear a 13 and am around 205lbs, I’m tall too, think they’ll ever make this in a wide? What would you say the max shoe size for the 161 is? 😅
@SearchofSnowboarding
@SearchofSnowboarding 8 месяцев назад
The DOA is a solid choice. Typically brands make limited sizes for models when they are first released, but I don't think they would make a wide in this board since the narrowness is what makes it different. I'd say you wouldn't want to go over a size 11 with the 161
@bullred9498
@bullred9498 8 месяцев назад
@@SearchofSnowboarding Would a 161w or 163w make that much of a difference in the DOA? I figured that would be a great all around board to start with because it’s been years since I’ve snowboarded, I just really love that directional shape and color/design of the Aeronaut

@SearchofSnowboarding
@SearchofSnowboarding 8 месяцев назад
It should be ok for your 11. You'll definitely feel it's narrow in your case but it shouldn't affect you unless you're in super deep carves. We still have them available here: www.radioboardshop.com/capita-aeronaut-by-al-24.html?id=98401966&quantity=1

@SearchofSnowboarding

The Hometown will be more turny and have a wider profile which can help float in pow better. The Aeronaut is much quicker edge to edge and easier to butter and trick with. I really like the Aeronaut but it depends on how you'll want to ride

@@buuutzz If you wanted more of a twin feel you should probably look at a different board. Bumping up towards the nose may be ok, but it could also feel weird. It may set you up wonky against the sidecut and geometry of the whole board

Thoughts on sizing for size 9, 5’10 165 lb expert? Ride on the east coast and looking for a total resort ripper to compliment my current quiver of a 147 dancehaul and 157 k2 alchemist. Ride everything from S-XL park features, railing corduroy, and trees when we actually get snow. Unsure if the 155 would be too small for charging or the 157 would be too big for freestyle. Appreciate any feedback.
@SearchofSnowboarding
@SearchofSnowboarding 6 месяцев назад
I think the 155 could feel too small overall, the 157 would be prime for you. It's pretty light and spins around easy so I don't think it would feel too big for freestyle riding
