Suzuki is SOOOO BLIND to the potential popularity of this car!!! Instead of making ALL the versions available WORLDWIDE, they REDUCE availability where it was sold (europe)!!! If they sold this world-wide they would not only sell like hotcakes, but they (Suzuki) could start a whole new branch of business JUST FOR THE CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS!!! I still can't believe NO ONE in the Suzuki management sees this!!!
@@ashleydaniels1132 I think that it is a 1.4 mile turbo. If I am right 104 kw and 220 nm. So agree that this would have made total sense plus could come with full warranty etc
@@MrCharlie1710 just double checked, 1462cc, technically a "1.5"... lol. but yeah, not sure why i thought T. DUH DUMB ME. SORRY., the hybrid has more though, that one uses the 1.4 turbo.
Incredible work. Now makes me want to have it again, like when it first came in with the second 3 door offering. 5 doors on a Jimny now will make even better sense.
Very cool build, I love the turbo idea for it. I just can't justify the price for such a small 4x4, there are so many other options out there for that price second hand.. I get it though, it's a cool car and I would have one. Though, nimble, reliable and really capable off road.
It's a pity there's no information available regarding the cost for the turbo conversation. Even if you google SG performance there are no details. Maybe they should start promoting it and explain what the kit included and the cost of the install.
Perhaps it's on purpose that there's little to no info. They could be waiting to have a 3rd party warrantee in place before going aggressive with advertising.
Read the comments…someone says R85k is what they told him when he called them… the problem with quoting prices on a website is often the exchange rate and shipping prices…they change so often….and they have to get updated and people expect a price they screenshotted 6 moths ago….frustrates me too, but an old school phone call usually gets a price…..
Fair enough! But i just wanted a ballpark....seems a lot but taking into account the price of a new car, its not bad. Thanks man.@erwinkruger-haye2698
That’s amazing! Just what the Jimmy needs, the final piece to make it the coolest car ever :) I am frantically saving by up for one in the next few years, it’s my dream car. The availability of a turbo kit makes that dream even more appealing! Thank you for sharing
Sincerely hope nobody does the performance upgrade without addressing suspension, wheels, tyres and brakes... That kind of power in such an unstable vehicle from stock is not safe.
Agreed, was thinking the same thing, also that Suzuki engine is common on the Suzuki range and some Toyotas too, so more people myt get tempted to do it on the likes of the Baleno.
Lekker rig and it will kill off-road. The suspension and turbo is surely to address the issues I think this vehicle has. But man! A new Jimny and 100K in extras puts you real close to, if not next to some 4x4 bakkies which offer more space inside, more utility, and probably still a better on-road driving experience. Each to their own. Still a nice a build.
Now 250nm torque, how did that affect towing capacity (along with upgraded suspension)? and tow ball specification? Normal Jimny tows 1300 kg with brakes (my model) what will this modified Jimny Tow, because I can get a good trailer around 1500 kg to 1700 kg and long Jimny also heavier./
Aftermarket turbo with standard engine internals, running aftermarket ECU remapping....what could go wrong??? When it does go bang, there will be lots of finger pointing.
thank you for the great video, could you pls share with me your Jimny"s total height after your modification including the total hight from ground with your roof platform. thanx
Life hack: buy a Grand Vitara (a handsome car in most aspects), give Jamie a call to turbocharge it, and go off to live your best life. It'd be interesting to know how the turbo conversion affects fuel economy.
A tad expensive for what's on offer in basic form for the auto (best for off road) and then you cough more for additions and upgrades to make it a reasonable drive. Good innovation with the turbo, hopefully owners/buyers take the bait. Has the fuel consumption improved with the turbo?
Hello there have you put tyre spacer in your car… if so do you recommend it coz it does looks like there is a perfect amount of offset from the wheel arch
Engine handles it beautifully! Before the conversion you had the engine screaming in high RPM for in a lower gear for extra power, now the RPM is lower with more power without gearing down.
Are you happy with the Indian build quality? I hope it's similarly good to the made in Japan 3 door models. Nicely modified car. Everything helps to improve it's off road ability. That Turbo kit massively improves the power and torque output.
The build quality of the Japan built Jimnys is not that good, l have never seen a modern vehicle rust so quickly and extensively but that could be due to the English weather, but also the paint finish is very poor especially on the underside and in the engine bay.
Suzuki Automotive 🇯🇵 gotta learn to #improve the #Jimny and #GrandVitara from you. Your size of tyres are the appropriate ones for off-road use not the #crossover_grade tyres that come on default.
That's what it always needed, more power! But I'm concerned about strength of components due to the additional strain. Do suzukis come with strong enough con rods, gearboxes to handle the extra power? I do hope so, I hope they have already been doing in in japan without any issues
@@mvubu6823 yes I stay in George in the western cape, you will get pulled over at least once a week driving around here more cops and roadblocks on the N2 than I have experienced anywhere.
@@dalewestman3405 That is actually true. We run vehicles on the garden route and cops are very effective. Very professional unlike most places to the North.
Hella has Road Legal Bar now with ECE Approval, SA uses the same standards for auxiliary lamps. They need the update the regulations itself, which they dragging.
Does anyone know where to get that specific wheel cover? Ive been looking for one i like for ages and it looks really smart - Dont mind paying oversees shipping. Thanks!! :D
A full metal bumper (winch and spotties compatible) would be better instead of an iron bar. With today's technology there are bull bars which are strong and light at the same time.
