Doesn’t every player say someone on their team threw their game? Dps blame tanks, tanks blame supports, supports blame dps. It’s like a Russian roulette for who’s going to be the first to tilt.
Moira'a damage orb is such a pain in the ass It just sticks around like an angry wasp. Hell I'd go as far as to say the orb from last game still somehow appears in the next, that's how persistent it is. While the healing orb just disappear before it can even come out, not that it has to stay around the whole game but it just vanished like a fart
Ngl that's probably mostly my fault because when I see enemies I throw my damage orb strategically in the best possible direction then also when I see that one of my teammates took 1 damage I quickly spam my healing orb in their general direction and it ends up hitting some random slanted surface and goes straight up to the heavens to heal God. I might as well just throw that bitch straight up anyway cause I swear however I throw it that's where it ends up anyway
My advice is to literally walk into it. What a lot of people do is walk with it and take unnecessary amounts of damage If you walk the direction it came from you'll only take a little bit
@@Freddy_Guythat’s so true! like the more you back away it follows, but if you brush past it(hoping your not stuck in a room) then you take so much less
I hate when people completely blame teammates, like odds are there's something you could've done/improved on that would've either alleviated it some or even made it a decent play, it's a TEAM game, you're part of the team, it's still on you too
This is low elo logic. The sentiment is nice yeah sure you can always do something better but to say "its a team game its on you too" is a sped take. If a top 500 is losing a game in like gold its safe to say its probably not on him. I get it, but its still a stupid take.
@@genuwhine6782 Exactly. It's good to have a mentality of always wanting to improve and looking for things that we do wrong, but someone can absolutely trashing the other team and STILL lose. Could the individual have "done better"? Sure. Would they have won if their team wasn't absolute dookie dog sht? Quite possible.
@@genuwhine6782 The irony of you having a low elo logic response. I've NEVER seen a top 500 or unranked to GM REMOTELY struggle in any games before Diamond, and even then and in Masters, it's exceedingly rare. People are barely walking the right direction in gold if you can't control a game that's on you. WILD to call genuinely good advice low elo logic. They don't even say it's all on you they say htere's things you could do better. Your comment breathes metal rank.
Moira’s healing orb can be so good when used like a pylon in a small room w her self heal too on biotic grasp it hits like 60 hps(?) it’s been ages since I’ve looked at the numbers (and the dps passive changes it anyway), but a lot of moira is min maxing your dps/hps. For example heal orb into coal is a high hps combo she has. If you don’t have coal, a well placed heal orb(whether it be up or down or flat on a wall so that it bounces back horizontally) plus *holding* primary fire with good accuracy can pump out crazy numbers. That makes me go into another aspect of her kit. Her heal over time vs. holding to heal is a hot topic in the moira community, but w anything in ow, it’s all situational. It’s important to try to get a feel of when you should be using which to keep your teammates and your apm up. Tapping to heal w moira is great for the early beginning and end of a team fight because these are times when your team is less likely to get elimed before your heal can help them. In general, especially if your resource is full, you can tap to heal and lightly spray all of your teammates. Since her resources recharge fairly quickly, this is very low risk because you’ll regain that in a second. In comparison, the holding to heal is great in the middle of a team fight. A lot of the times you would rather dmg orb than heal orb, so holding to heal is good to make up for that lost hps, while also gaining resource back w the orb.
Genuine question - has she always been able to gain resource with the orb? I've played since Overwatch 1 (before her release) but unfortunately Moira's not my playstyle so I just stuck with my main.
Tanks have to do their job, which is taking space, not creating LOS for supports, it's supports job to position themselves to make up for the space the tanks will be trying to take. Like on Dorado instead of being on the bottom of the stairs in the corridor, be on top to follow them through, at least then the tank can be mindful in thinking the only thing stopping them from being healed is the statue
No this is 100% on the support. Moira's job is to enable brawlly comps to play ultra aggressive. Dorado is horrible for brawl and their tank went Doom and Dva. Going a more offensive support is a fine decision, but the 100% correct pick in this case is Kiriko. The other thing to consider, is when the opposing tank went Doom, they could have gone Brig to protect their Ana, but playing Moira was an absolute sell. In fact, everyone else did about what you would expect for this lobby, but Moira has zero ability to enable her team here.
I was thinkin this as well. His moira play was so damn... passive... he literally never did anything offensive at all which is what she is kinda good at for pickin off the lower HP enemies when needed. And the constant WASTE of resources when her heal only requires spurts of juice to get heal over time for a second or 2 is killing me...
Real. Around two weeks ago (don't play often), Moira on my team was flaming me for having low damage compared to our other dps. I was on Sombra picking off squishies, and our other dps was either soldier or bastion and farming the other tank. We ended up winning, and the Moira still kept flaming me even though I ended up with highest damage and elims in the lobby (stats aren't everything, but apparently to this Moira they were).
@@newtonthenewt1400I always say it, people have no idea what's happening in the games they play. Had a Moira start with me after I tried to get a bastion to come to me, fall back from an enemy I saw flanking him. As an ana 'come to me for healing' usually gets their attention if they care about the match. Moira started flaming me for using that saying I had less healing than them (as if that's somehow relevant to the situation). Bruh, I hope as a Moira your healing stats are higher.
@@Warren2013 then that's not a real onetrick. Onetricks wont even bother to queue as a different role. It's kind of in the word itself. You have one trick.
@Troglobitten eh you're generalising one tricks. I like to onetrick cass for dps, duo trick kiri/bap for supp and I play winton/ram/sigma on tank. I get what you're talking about I've been only playing cass for a month but then if I can switch around to another role after a month or two
Their Moira gameplay was incredibly frustrating to watch. Using heal spray when no one was close to them, using damage orbs when their team was low, fading INTO the enemy team.... UGH
Honestly they probably haven't introduced weapon inspect because us console players are already struggling for buttons. Though saying that, they could just bind it to something like L3+R3.
@@zakk3910The reload is also used for swapping heroes if it's held down, so maybe the hero swap button could be changed. I'd say holding the crouch button would be better for the hero swap, and then reload hold for inspect.
@@kommandantkillcode I think just press reload to inspect would be simpler and more logical. I feel like a lot of games (on PC where there's no shortage of buttons) do that. Switching it so that the crouch button does something different depending on whether you're in spawn or not would be more confusing.
@@zakk3910 It would still crouch while in spawn, but holding it (which doesn't do a second input) while in spawn would be how to bring up the hero selection screen. This wouldn't have to be changed on PC. Using Reload to swap characters makes the character reload if they're missing ammo already anyway, hence why I suggested the change for spawn room selection so the inspect button could be the standard "hold reload" bind.
I absolutely love your videos and how positive you are in them. There's others who do similar videos that get exacerbated about it and say some vague critique "Positioning", "Bad Ult". Whereas you keep calm and positive and actually explain how to improve on those aspects, "If you played the high ground here, your positioning would be way better *free cams to better position*". Very encouraging as a viewer who is trying to get better at this game.
I'm the moira in this game! Thank you for the review! When I play support I usually play kiriko or ana more and I now realize that maybe I should've just taken kiriko to begin with. I have a bit of a habit on ana if I miss one cooldown to use the other I realize after watching this lol. I will have to work on that. Also I didn't take high ground on ana because it's such a long way and as someone in chat pointed out most of the time half the team is dead by the time I get up there but I will have to work on that. After watching this I also realize how bad my moira gameplay is lol. I don't play her that much tbh. It was basically a desperation pick at that point ngl
Not going to lie, your gameplay is hardly gold level, you have no legs to stand on blaming your DPS for being bad. The entirety of the first 5 minutes of bad mechanical aim, terrible cooldown usage and generally not looking in control of your character gives everyone in the game the same feelings that you have against them.
i usually only use moira fade to high ground without teammates if there is a widow nobody is taking care of. The funniest thing is watching a widow panic when moira pops up in her face.
24:05 thats bc it doesnt slow down for full health teammates. makes it function much more inconsistently than damage orb, which always slows down for enemies.
As an Ana main the two main things I see is your accuracy is terrible, you need to scope in more when at longer range. Second is you need hold your sleep to protect yourself or use it when you see a guaranteed sleep
This is why Overwatch has become boring, many players, across the board have this mentality of blaming their teammates for EVERYTHING. I get being frustrated when someone makes a big dumb, or getting mad at being flammed for no reason; but the only one responsible for your play, is you. Its so boring to get into another game, just to have another player blame someone on our team for their own mistakes. Being i play tank 90% of the time, the flaming is usually aimed at me. These are the people who will moan about stats, not realizing that how much damage you deal, mitigate or heal doesnt matter if you cant win a team fight or the objective. These are people that often have no clue about position, cooldowns, healthpacks, highground, cover, audio/visual queues, effective range, anything. They act like its the job of their team to win the game for them, and it just makes it so repetitive, stale, and boring. Add to that, the fact that the game isnt as fun as it once was, the balance is a joke, and there are better games on the horizon, as well as available now; i question why i still play this "game."
@@BitBox_US does anyone know why they got rid of the looking for group system? I feel like one day I woke up and it was gone and noone seemed to say anything about it lol
One thing in your speech video on tips, maybe talk about ult usage because it seems to be a big factor at times too, even with you sayin stuff like use it now idc if you waste it. Like when is that good or bad midset with ult in match?
There has been a questionable amount of matches where I did the most damage and healing out of the entire lobby as Moira. I don't know if I'm that good, or if they were that bad
@@sirrostaopoulos It’s really useless, the heal spray is better and the damage orb should only be used to refill your heal gauge and build ult charge. Moira isn’t a heal bot but she’s also not a dps. However, I will say Moira is best in gold and lower lobbies because players in that rank DO NOT have the mechanics to kill her before she kills them. And I don’t play Moira in ranked because she’s way worse than other supports. I play Bap, Brig and Illari.
@@jeremyyamma4364 I never said that 😂. Also, notice how I said only when I’m losing. By losing it should be clear that a damage orb wouldn’t help and my fade is in cooldown. I just can’t fathom how you saw my comment and said, “Muh, bad Moira player.”
Moira orb can really help your team when they are low, it'd probably help your games to learn to alternate between using the damage and healing orbs. I have the same problem sometimes lol
The moira was just not using enough movement, she has a good kit for diving and backing out. It was too submissive, aggressive moira is the best play imo.
Doubt you’ll see this Emongg or AwhCrap but if you do, idea for you based around 4:11 You could do top three things for each map and each hero too Depending on how much you want to put into it, you could even do each hero on each map. Just a thought. Love you
Here's the thing if you want to play a competitive team based shooter, overwatch aint it. If you want to spend 200 hours learning how to bait your teammates, use them as human shields and deal as much damage as possible while in a support role and upset 5 other humans who are trying to play their role but cant because only you have the ability to heal them during 50/50s, then overwatch and moira is perfect. If you want to be good at FPS games, if you want to be good with synergy cooldown management timing .. team plays, then its not overwatch unless you're in a 5 stack. Solo queue is LITERALLY about being good at recognizing how to climb, it's not about playing good overwatch. This has been demonstrated time and time again by almost every single streamer with bronze to GM. If you do 15,000 more healing than both enemy supports combined it can be meaningless, if you throw 5 kunais and land headshots it might decide the outcome of a 15 minute game.
Mate I'm 2 minutes in and I can already tell this isn't a gold ana. Even when I was in gold supports have good mechanical ability and cooldown usage. I would argue that they lost the first point due to this supports incompetence moreso than the DPS getting ran over.
As someone who has benefited greatly from increasing the sensitivity of my mouse, the most common problem I see is that the person's overall play is not snappy.
I saw a comment that basically said that asking Emongg to spectate these videos is like asking a rocket scientist to give critiques on a coke mentos rocket. I'm sure it can get somewhat frustrating after awhile of watching gold players but he's super nice about giving us tips
That scripted RU-vid video idea sounds great a few of my friends ask me about improving so we don’t have to queue wide group and I always recommend your content!!
Please for everything that is holy, stop picking Moira to do more damage. Bap, Ana, Illari, Kiri and Zen are way better options for helping damage than Moira because Moira's "damage" comes at the cost of downtime. Her time to kill is too slow and typically means she is in the backline trying to kill, which means she is in no position to heal her team. If you watch pro level, the times Moira gets the most value, is when the comp is an all in comp where all 5 players are clumped together, because it allows Moira to efficiently do both healing and damage. I understand we aren't pros, but we can definitely learn a hero's biggest strengths.
@@genuwhine6782 lmao that's my favorite. Especially when they are just sucking off the Rein shield that does 0 damage and doesn't refill your heal resource.
I'm afraid of this video after we heard that description. Going Moira for damage is kinda weird. Especially with Kiri, Illari, Bap and Zen existing 😂 (three of those have easy ways to access high ground too)
Idk but I would take Ana,Kiri or Mercy for more mobility. Moira is good for dps, yes. BUT in this case, the DPS need more healing! And Moira dies alot cuz of bad postitions. Gold elo sucks so much.... i know how the Moira player felt. I'm aswell a Gold Support and it is sometimes REEEALLY hard 😅
I like playing Moira and LW but tend to play LW more, I like his mobility, BUT I have to switch to Moira sometimes when my DPS aint doin' shit! Gotta get them kills and team moral back up! lol I also like using angles and the walls to get my balls where they need to go. Healing orb is good when you gotta get heals to your team that's way ahead of you because it moves so much faster. Or if you have a Widow hiding in a room up high and you got no LOS, shoot a ball up in there. It's great.
Playing moira when you dont have dps is just lack of knowledge. Why dont they have dps? Can they not be healed? Do you have no impact as support? The only time moira is useful is if you need picks due to people being low but not being able to be finished or if they have characters you can pick in the backline. Standing in the middle of the team throwing random dmg orbs and succin the tank is not adding any value at all.
@genuwhine6782 I usually have the most healing out of all the supports. I don't know why you're commenting just to try to insult me. I even gave examples of what I do to heal my teammates who don't know how to stay in LOS. It's like you didn't even read my comment but felt like pushing your frustrations with other Moira players on me. What a useless comment.
Wait tf why is the audio so directional, did I miss a setting or something, it's not even slightly, it's a night and day difference almost like listening to asmr with the directional audio. Idk what it but it feels like I've been playing on mono this whole time and this video just switched to stereo. Please let me know if it's me or what I can do to get the audio
If you wanna get damage and high ground on support, go Bap. No skill auto aim Moira isn’t always gonna save the team so you’re gonna have to take advantage of oppressive characters like bap
Moira players doing nothing their kit is supposed to do besides sit back press left click and throw some orbs without going to pick anyone. Better blame team :^)
Seriously every time I watch a moira they stand in the middle of their team looking around lost and trying to succ the tank, surely theres a more useful way to play than that? 22:47 like what is man even doing? I hate moira players
Low key dont even think mercy is bad especially in these ranks shes op af. Nobody can kill her ever so if you are half decent it should be hard to lose since you can perma output healing and damage boost. BUT most mercy players just heal the full hp tank and have no idea when to boost.
I still don't think she's op. I'd rather a support actually deal damage and not heal than a mercy yellow beaming full hp widow who can't even land a shot
As a DPS player that has turned flex (cause i only really enjoyed playing Genji and now he's kinda dead) i find it absolutely astounding that support players will blame their DPS after spending the entire game doing ANYTHING but healing their DPS. Literally go back and watch this and count how many times this guy looks at his DPS to heal, it's less than 5 if even once. Bro spent so much time on Ana and Bap and did more dps than healing then goes Moira because they dont have enough DPS. Supp players that do this.. just go play DPS please, if you dont understand the SIMPLE fact that if you aren't looking at your own team the ENTIRE game then you're NOT healing them. For example, Ana needs to shoot her teammates to heal them so you basically need to treat your team as the enemy, always be shooting your team because that's where her value comes from. Supps should only really start dps-ing after you win the team fight, everyone is full hp and the enemy is staggering, or a teammate is trying to finish a kill and you're able to just hit them once and finish them off.
I nanoed a Moira who had just ULTed. Worker pretty well. I as just a Humble Gold Role Support. I slept 7 enemies in just 1 round. Don't know if that's decent, good, or not enough. But I slept the ones that needed it. And got kills off of them. Then the other team started coming directly after me. That's when I got even more sleeps. After a while the tank left me alone. After I slept her 2 times she came for me. And left me alone after. Lol
