@@Atlas718 They may not scan your personal files without your consent, and even if they could, it's too easy to hide it outside it's perspective. Anticheat commonly scan running processes though, but that too is commonly and easily bypassed or obfuscated; besides, just running an uniquely compiled cheat would of course bypass any matching, a large portion of cheaters run their own or at least private cheats. The best feasible way to detect cheats is monitoring in-game behavior. As OP suggested that can be done by implementing various simple to advanced checks that simply triggers if a player is moving too fast or the like; the problem here though is that this opens the potential for false positives, eg. due to lag, cheaters impacting legit players (eg. pushing them into the air) or glitches, so a developer should be very careful in deciding whether or not to ban due to these detections, a more safe approach would be to just kick them from the game. Virtually endless types of checks could help dampen the effect of cheaters, eg. just checking how long they've been airbourne like OP suggested; however something like height would be map-dependent and likely also dependent on position on the map, a little more time consuming to implement but still possible of course, eg. with a map of allowed heights spanning the various maps. In the end it's virtually impossible to stop cheaters, they're incredibly stubborn, people make a challenge out of beating any counter-measure out there, that's often the game they're really playing.
