I’ve had people call me racist cause my friend and I lived together and we had the Dont Tread on Me flag flying outside our place and the original 13 states circle star flag. Stereotyping is one of the worst things in our society and just like racism it comes in all, shapes and forms. I have learned a long time not to judge a book by it's cover and if we'd actually have more human to human interaction via conversations rather than communicating via tex, symbols and emojies, maybe we'd get a better understanding and appreciation of one another? As a kid I remember my dad taking me to the trainstation in Germany and American soldiers were hanging out there. Black soldiers tried to give me some candy 🍬 and I was deathly afraid of them, wouldn't take the candy. My dad got so angry with me that he whooped my booty and told me to never ever disrespect another human being like that again! Idk why I was afraid, maybe it was from a stupid game we used to play called "who's afraid of the black man" which didn't actually mean black skin color btw. It was about a robber, kidnapper, pedo who'd break into your house dressed all in black from head to toe like a ninja and I guess when I saw the black soldiers this stupidly named game made me Stereotype them, thinking they were bad guys and come to find out I actually only ever dated and fell in love with black men. Been married to a black man for 20 and we have the most beautiful mixed kids who everyone in Germany admired and wanted to have, cause they're the perfect mix of both ❤ And it's funny cause german ppl love themselves some chocolate 🍫 But due to this 1 person in german history with the last name that starts with a H we got and still get vilified. Ppl make un-funny jokes when you tell them you're German and you're married to a black man, it's stupid. But I'm not just german either, cause my bio dad was also a soldier staying in the military in Germany and he is Native American which at the time of that incident I had no clue about. My parents both weren't my biological parents, they adopted me when I was 7 days old. So yeah NEVER judge a book by it's cover, get to know ppl for who they are as a person and not by where they come from, their country, their state, their culture and skin color. If you let signs, signals, flags, religion and skin color divide us then we'll never find peace with each other, have respect for each other and love one another for who and what they are!
