Loved it, so glad you landed it in the next clip. Some absolutely huge barra move in and out of system...not a lot of them like the bigger rivers and stocked lakes, but nice when you can catch them in a different environment in your own back yard 😉. Well worth the grind to get them there, ditto Gold Coast and Noosa canals 👍

If you're don'y mind and open to some advice from a far Nth Qlder who's fished for Barra my entire life - for that lost fish at 7:40 and big sport barra in general.. The moment you feel the hit, make a B-line for the middle of the drink so you are pulling its head180 degrees away from the structure..you hung about way too long in that side on position, rather than getting perpendicular to the strike point. Barra roll on their prey, like Jacks, but even more aggressively, with a bigger turning circle and even more power.. By the time your rod is loaded up, its already half way, or more, back into its nook.. Apart from managing the hook set, your #1 goal is to turn its head directly away from the structure.. Hope this helps a little.. Great vid and good luck getting more barra moments..
