@thenerdcaveyt only got 2 games in during the free play league. We won't talk about game 1. But game 2, I really like how this deck works. Might add some Heihei just because. But other than that, I look forward to getting more familiar with this deck.
@@thenerdcaveyt I’ve actually used some of the combos you have suggested and I’m still working on building the decks I’m missing a few of the cards. Though my favorite has to be the Amythest/Steel Rise of the Titans the best
Yeah I was talking about that Merlin shift combo and from my understanding the card underneath the shift will not count as being there so it’s banished you won’t get the rabbit or goat trigger. You would have to bounce it back to hand to get both cards backs and then replay any of the cards to get its triggers back.
@kevinfaberlle530 that was kind of my thinking since it doesn't technically leave play but it's a weird mechanic I definitely think they'll have to clarify for a lot of people.
In regards to your Merlin shift question: a card that’s been shifted onto essentially doesn’t exist, so no you don’t get the effects of the card that been shifted onto.
@azarsgp this isn't the deck I played and got 9th with but thanks for the snarky comment! It's worth noting the tournament I played in had 45 people including some heavy hitters like the first place seed from day 1 in Atlanta. Hope whatever going on that makes your feel the need to be rude gets better!
Played Yu Gi Oh years ago. Never really got into Magic. Saw this last week at Target of all places. Got some starter decks for me and my two kids. We played and they thought it was a lot of fun. Threw you a sub. Currently playing steel/amethyst but using the starter deck with Merlin and Tianna. Where do you find these tournaments? Are people playing this at local card shops?
@russellrice1330 first off, thanks so much for watching & subbing. Hope you & the kiddos ade enjoying it. Many game stores do offer organized play, may be worth it to call around in your area. Set championships is happening this month also but you'll probably want to establish a more meta deck for that. In my area of central Florida basically every shop I know that sells cards has organized play 1-2 days a week.
Awesome. Thanks. Good luck in the tournament this month. Yes, will def need to upgrade my deck from the starter deck. With shimmering skies a few weeks away, I’m going to try to wait and see what happens with the new set.
@@russellrice1330 yeah a new set release is usually a good time to pick up past cards. Usually there's more people selling at that time & prices dip a bit on singles.
Last month I ran a similar deck based around brooms and had some very good success. I’m doing RA for the championships, but I really would love to try AS.
I like the question of shifting the rabbit or any other merlin for that matter....they will need to clarify if the card that has been shifted on will trigger the leave play abilities
You don't get stay or leaves triggers. from cards underneath shift cards. Think of it like the card under just transforms to the new form. The old wording has transformed to the new. The old card is technically there but it's become something new and thus hasn't left either
@@ryanbouchard2907 which totally makes sense & generally how I figured it would be handled since it'd be pretty broken the other way...but still, it's gonna be confusing for a lot of people I'm sure.
@vegaisaiah369 everyone has their own style for sure but I think Rabbits have proven their value in the meta especially against decks like bucky where they are guaranteed to draw you 2.
@@whiteturtle5543 I'm not totally sure what you mean by this. I assume you're playing bucky & mad about the recent announcement buy that frustration may be getting misplaced here. Good luck at your set champs!
