Ventum Dynamics is set to revolutionize wind power harnessing with two turbine sizes, 2-meter and 4-meter, catering to various energy needs. These turbines, designed for industrial applications, large-scale facilities, and commercial buildings, feature advanced omnidirectional technology, capturing wind energy from all directions without constant repositioning. The 2-meter turbine offers an estimated annual energy production of up to 6,100 kWh, while the larger 4-meter turbine promises a staggering 18,800 kWh.
Ventum's turbines, known for their space efficiency and adaptability, are engineered to perform optimally across diverse installation environments, providing efficient and consistent clean energy solutions. The company envisions future adaptation for residential use, showcasing a commitment to making sustainable energy accessible to everyone. Importantly, these turbines seamlessly integrate with existing solar panel installations, complementing solar energy and addressing its intermittency.
Ventum Dynamics emphasizes silent operation, absence of visual noise, and omnidirectional capability, minimizing maintenance needs and optimizing efficiency. The turbines can be set up within a day, offering a quick and hassle-free solution for on-site power production. Their compatibility with both grid-connected and off-grid modes ensures heightened resilience during electricity shortages or outages. Ventum's turbines are anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2024, initially in the UK, marking a groundbreaking entry into the renewable energy market.

I can't put my finger on it but my engineers intuition is screaming "scam". Apart from the scant technical data I'm thinking if you put a standard wind turbine next to this thing your standard wind turbine would out perform it. There's no evidence that all those fancy vanes increase efficiency.

at 8m/s energy ouput is 6100kWh per what? Per year? If we assume per year that would be an average power output of 700W at 8m/s
@RobertA-hq3vz
@RobertA-hq3vz 9 месяцев назад
@@benetra 8m/s wind is 28.8km/hr 20 to 29 km/h Strong enough to straighten flying flags and shake small tree branches. Expect dust and loose paper garbage to fly around in the air. Unless you're out at sea its not often I see that sort of strong breeze, and ridiculous to expect it 24 hours a day, every day. So, even if it did provide 700W at 8m/s, which is a lot of energy, it would not provide 6100kwh in a year because that sort of wind would not be happening every hour/day of the year. I've just checked my electricity bill for my home. Apparently I use about 2000KWh per year. So one of these things produces enough power for 3 homes, I very much doubt that.

@@RobertA-hq3vz Correct! At a more realistic 4m/s average wind speed, it would provide only around 750kWh per year.

Besides this, one needs to remember that the power that can be extracted from the wind depends closely to the surface covered by the device, and then there the Belz law, that say that the highest efficiency is not be expected above 50%. What is the surface here? And wind at that height, just above roof, is of really bad quality. There is no miracle unfortunately. If big companies with enormous cash do R&D stick to classical yet almost perfectly optimized 3 wings treadmills, as tall as possible, there’s a reason.

Exactly. Nominal wind speed is nothing wrong but expectations for such high winds is too confident. At 8m/s that turbine at best have 1100W of power. It is with assumption that it have 50% efficiency. Personally I would say it is around 35%. At minimum 3,5m/s wind such turbine will generate around 60W of power. So it can power 4 houses? Big lie. For me it is paid advertisement. Author of video have no knowledge about wind turbines. You can not swap big turbines with small ones and expect similar power. The "remarkable advantage" is compatibility with existing solar installations. Virtually any wind turbine that can be grid connected is compatible with PV. It is like saying our tires have "remarkable advantage" because those are round 🤣

Vetrical and/or helical turbines could be installed inside the frame or atop of every high tension electricity transmission tower in the country. Every tower could serve to be not only transmit but also produce electricity. It would require absolutely no additional land usage or do not have to be installed in remote locations where their lack of proximity to the grid create additional expense. They are already connected to the grid. Plus the physical supports already exist. Mass production to make enough for so many towers would bring the cost down. Installation costs would be a small percentage of that of current horizontal windmills. This approach would also minimize the aesthetic complaints of large windmill farms because the transmission towers already exist and these turbines would actually dress them up a bit. Each tower could actually handle two or three units stacked atop each other.
@pin65371
@pin65371 8 месяцев назад
Except those high tension transmission towers arent designed to handle that extra strain. They are designed to hold transmission lines. Thats it. Also these wind turbines never do what they say they can do. I was looking at smaller wind turbines and everyone was saying it was a complete waste of money. Wind power is a physics problem and wind power only makes sense when you go big. Until we come up with a way to change physics it wont make sense to put up small wind turbines.

6100 kWh per year with an average wind speed of 8 m/s is plausible at least. But where on this planet could you get so much wind near the ground? Antarctica? On average built-up sites, it will be less than 1000 kWh per year. Half wind speed means an eighth yield, roughly.

@valerianschneider5084

i agree that it is simple because no steering is needed. at the same time that is also its weakness because instead of the propeller always showing in the optimal direction it only takes in from an area that is less than the rotor size, and seeing that it is redirected air it already looses a lot of energy due to being redirected. benefits could be: simpler therfore cheaper and less maintenance intensive. disadvantage: not as eficient as sicking a rotor directly in the wind direction. which is better..... difficult to say without a total cost of ownership minus realworld production figures calculation.

Wind turbines with wind-catcher-systems are generally bad. They need a lot of extra material, they need more effort to make them stormproof, since they can't reduce air resistance. And efficiency is worse due to the redirection of the wind. But I suppose, this could be better than the "Aeromine"-concept at least, since it can use wind from all directions.

Any windmill can only take wind energy from the cross area covered by it's collection system. Small windmills will always be more expensive per actual generated watt than big ones. And even big windmills can't compete with gas,coal and nuclear.

and every generator strapped to a turbine can, at best, only transfer half of that energy to a load. and its much closer to 1/5, 1/10th, otherwise the generator starts smoking as it has to dissipate the remainder of the energy that is not transferred to the load... as you try and reduce the loss in the generator, there is less and less power overall, in the load or the generator... and then, as you cant load the turbine down adequately to maintain the ideal blade speed to wind speed, you have to apply brakes instead. and what do brakes produce? HEAT! and then what do we do with that HEAT? DUMP IT as a WASTE PRODUCT. what does a coal gas or nuke powerstation actually do? makes HEAT. jacobs law. the fundamental basic they dont teach us at school. i can make a wind turbine compete with coal, gas, and nuclear, simply by using it as a boiler rather than try and generate "electricity" directly. been heating my water for years with a wind turbine. no electricity involved. the harder the wind blows, the more water i can heat to a given temerpature, or the hotter i can get a given mass of water. no trying to match supply with demand, no trying to match grid frequencies or limit blade speeds... as theyre automatically limited by extracting energy. and the traditional steam turbine takes care of grid interaction. when you try heating stuff, you can make a load that actually can extract the maximum energy from the turbine, regardless of the wind speed. shame noone will donate a small windfarm and an old steam turbine for me to prove this on a large scale. and yeah, a fair bit of money for materials. plumbing and the like. heat exchangers. large tank of salt. insulation...

I'm still waiting for a credible solution where we can generate enough meaningful energy at a small scale that's suitable for housing. I hear a lot of promising ideas, but until we start seeing some credible data in the wild, it all means nothing, with solar being an overall better option. It's a shame really because if we can have a mix of solar and wind at a local level, they would complement each other really well to give a more consistent power flow, especially if you have a buffer with a reasonable amount of battery storage. Mixing the two would offer the advantage of solar offering more energy in the day and summer months, wind offering more energy in the winter months, and being that wind speeds tend to be higher in winter and at nighttimes, they complement each other really well. But so far, we've been hearing so many promises with wind turbines at a small scale, they always fail, but there are a lot more radical different approaches being done on small wind turbines, so who knows, maybe one will get it right. But for now, solar is better, it's so cheap now that you're better off just putting up more solar, it's also getting cheaper and better all the time, so for the consumer home market, the clock is ticking on the wind industry, especially because as solar gets better as well as battery tech gets better, more of us will be in a position to go off grid, meaning that wind turbines have to find solutions of making turbines work at a small scale, otherwise the solar industry could wipe them out.
