this is the first gaming headset ive seen in a very long time that has interested me, i cant use closed back headphones for gaming as i hate the congested sound you get when talking with them on, not knowing how loud your're speaking. these open back cans are STUNNING and the metal build seems fantastic. my current headphones are getting to be on their way out so this is perfect timing edit: just finished the video, good god $200 spoinkies is wayyyyyy out my price range. im rocking philips shp9500 and theyre barely $50 - $60 bucks anymore. definitely sticking with what i got
It's crazy how you cover pretty much every gaming peripheral release. Gotta say, watching you review headsets always make me start browsing local stores for deals. You're gonna end up making me pull the trigger one of these days
I was never that fond of the Corsair Virtuoso lineup before, but this one is hands-down Corsair's best looking headset. Love the mesh grills on the sides. Seems like the change they made to their mic kinda downgraded the sound a little, but I honestly like that there's no random hole on the headphones themselves for a mic since it's just attached to the cable. Definitely looks like a solid pair of headphones.
Hey love your content man been a fan of your no-script one-take approach of reviewing products. Also love the fact that you always put consumers' interest first and really speak the truth about these products and for that thanks a lot!
Love the metal build quality, as a BIG head user I've broken my fair share of headsets (usually a headset a year before they break apart). Its quite a problem in the headset market.
As someone who has big ears and has had trouble finding headphones that dont pinch my ears these look like they might finally be the one. Also good to see a big brand like corsair bringing open backs to a really big audience this is gonna be a game changer if other companies decide to follow suit.
The best thing about these I think is the support for bigger heads. I’ve recently had my MH751s break, and I’ve been having real troubles finding headset that are comfy for larger heads like mine. Quality products from Corsair as expected and nice review!
A few years ago you made me bought a pair of Corsair Virtuoso SE, that I'm still enjoying in my headset collection 😉. Pleasure to hear your thoughts and comparatives with other models, since you always share with us a real usage perspective. Keep it up mate, thanks for everything!
When it comes to anything from headphones, computers, cellphones, or any other high-tech stuff, I am clueless. Thank you for your insight on headphones. I have been using my brother's old Audio- techs for 13 years, and they're much older now. I have watched your videos to see what headphones I want to buy, if I ever get the money. But those audio techs have been good so far, other than a broken headrest pad. Anyways, thanks again for your input. Take Care & God Bless.
Open backs from corsair is a big deal, seems great build quality and probably the sound is good enough. Not really sure if the price tag matches with this headphone compared to some other good deals from drop, or any of the well-known audio brands at ~$200. Also that microphone implementation is actually very clever.
LETS GO!! Start making the comparison videos! Very interesting Corsair. People do love their open back headphones. I was wondering when we would see more companies dabble with open back gaming headsets. I don’t think this hits the mark yet, but they could be opening the door.
I only use open back for several reasons. I don’t like the feeling or sound of my voice being muffled when I’m talking and my ears are plugged. I really like staying aware of my surroundings (kids, wife etc). I prefer the sound (not so in your face) and comfort (usually cloth and breathable materials) of open back headphones. :-)
Yes, if they make a wireless version… that would be end game. I couch game with my PC and I don’t want to run a cable extension across the room. With the way Corsair does things, I can see a wireless version coming out. MAKE IT HAPPEN CORSAIR!
Honestly these look really clean. I am currently using some cheap IEM’s for gaming but I’m tempted to upgrade. Maybe I should wait for a wireless versions tho.
saw an ad for this headset on my fb feed while at work and i was already curious. after watching this review, i'm even more interested in these now. the one negative on this headset for me is the price. :(
Thanks for posting great reviews! Am road tripping through RU-vid videos this Sunday evening researching new office desk tech. Learned a lot about headsets here!
Hey! I really appreciate your casual fun way of reviewing these products without exaggerating. I knew what to expect when I watched your Virtuoso XT review, and I’m very glad I came across your channel when I was looking for a good headset. The Wicked Cushions recommendation was a game changer for me with the XT’s, otherwise I was planning on returning the headset because of the thin pads. I’ve been using that headset and following you ever since, and I thank you again for being a cool guy.
Thanks for the review and the opportunity for the headset. Planned on getting another SteelSeries headset to replace my 7X but hey a free headset is a free headset lol
It is always nice to see metal construction in a gaming headset, when you pay 100 plus for headset with plastic stress points, found that out on my PS3 Sony gaming headset the stress of taking it on and of broke it.
Really great video like always! I've always wanted to try open back headphones but I'm almost strictly a FPS gamer but you have me willing to try them now. You give the most relatable reviews for everyday ppl I've ever seen! Really enjoy them!
thank you for going over the wicked cushion part just saved me from buying the wrong ones. So far I don't think anyone has come out with replacement pads for these yet.
Interesting. I originally thought these were wireless. I'm really glad I watched this video. I'm actually looking for good wired headset that will work with my DX and Wave XLR. Thanks for a great review. I subscribed and I'm going to go back and watch more of your videos. good show
I'm beginning to collect white peripherals as they remind me of stormtrooper and look hella sophisticated at the same time. It'd be great if I could get myself a white headphones.
I think this is probably one of the best sounding mics on a headset I love it I have a hyper x cloud 3 for so long and been looking for a better headset
one thing the video didn't go over is clamping force, however the video shows the clamping force is pretty low and im all about it. that long gaming session is gonna be comfortable.
Like the esthetics of both but besides that, awesome videos. I'm constantly watching all your reviews even if I'm not specially interested in the product. Keep the great work 💪
I'm very used to watching audiophile reviews that focus on the squigly lines and things but I really value watching your reviews for headphones. I still notice that your preference of sound alligns with mine somewhat. I think gaming headphones are going in such an exciting direction, recently ordered a maxwell and now seeing this, finally they are focusing on design that isn't just rgb.
Great review! I've been considering the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless headphones, The audio quality seems impressive, and the comfort looks top-notch. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and demonstrating the product!
I love corsair! I watch your videos for any mouse/keyboard/headset reviews. You never steered me wrong smiles. Between Corsair and Razer, I have to say I had less problems with Corsair. But you opened my eyes to consider other brands too. Appreciate all your reliable reviews.
Every once in a while, for the sake of convenience I consider using a gaming headset over mic and phones. The Virtuoso Pro's seem to come closer than most. With you on the chrome strip. It was always one of those things that when it peeled off it looked better after you cleaned off the gummy residue.
These look great, appreciate the honest break down in your review. Corsaie hopefully you take some of the recommendations on especially comfort upgrade!
As somebody who has used Astro A40s for the last 5 years, they finally started to have minor issues with headphone jack distortion so I went shopping for a new pair. I knew they were semi open back, but I didn’t realize how much a difference it made to my ears. I tried the Logitech G pro X2 light speed - too rumbly, not very good sound localization I tried the arctic nova pro wired - too rumbly and hollow. Long story short, I love open back. I want to try these.
I tried the Virtuoso pros a while back but my biggest issue with them was how heavy they felt. After multiple different headsets, I finally decided on the Epos H6Pro’s and could not be happier. Put wicked cushions on them, they’re comfortable as all hell and I paired em with my Shure SM7B cause I couldn’t find a headset I was happy with for the mic.
I have talked to a lot of customers and you are the first person I've heard who is happy with their H6Pro's. I've heard no end of issues with the USB connection and build issues like the adhesive on the pads coming off within weeks of owning them. I usually don't recommend them anymore which is a shame, because from what I gather, they actually sound good.
@@johnhurley8918 I mean I've only had them about two weeks, but so far so good. I replaced the earpads with wicked cushions and I absolutely love the comfort and I think the sound is great. But I am by absolutely no means, an audiophile.
@@johnhurley8918 My h6pro's microphone shut down and the volume adjustment(actually impedance adjustment) also have some problem. When I rotate the impedance to the least, there is no audio on the right side, I have to increase the impedance a little to make both side balance. But the sound quality and comfort is very good
I didn't realize this headset had graphene drivers, it's great to see another review for a set to compare to the Logitech. My son is shopping for a new headset, so I'll have him tune in to this review.
I love this headset from CORSAIR, also White color look great, But didn't like why CORSAIR put dynamic drive and not planar, I wish next headset it will be the same in all, just make it planar, removed back for open and close, and wireless.
I do not have any high end headphones, however I've used a lot of cheap headphones and headsets, things like the koss porta pros, kingston hyperx cloud 2, cloud alpha, corsair virtuoso, corsair hs70, ATH M20x, ATH M50x, phiips shp9600, philips x2hr, epos (sennheiser) gsp 301, epos h6 (closed back) and some in store branded ones, and have played fps games for a long time, I'd say closed back headphones that's tuned well is generally better for fps games, while open back ones are good for story titles, the fidelity of footstep sounds can be better on open back headphones, however the directional sound of them can often times be, really off, at times footsteps that's supposed to be behind you can sound like it's right in your head instead of where it's supposed to be.
These seem really well designed I've never used a gaming focused headset I always use ATH-M50 but the gaming headset have come a long way. Good review!
I love the white version, as it says in the video, the black one is all black and I like the details. Again I loved the attention to detail, for example the colors of the screws. I really believe that the audio quality and comfort are very good, but the audio quality of the microphone didn't convince me.
I do like that these seem like they might actually fit my big head. I also really miss having open back headphones. Thank you for all the detailed information and feedback on this headset. I'm definitely off to watch more of your headset videos now! Also thanks for the opportunity to win the white headset! Super excited for that.
this is an interesting device from Corsair. I've tried the Virtuoso XT in the past, it was one of the few headphones I could use cuz I got a massive head lol. ended up buying a Sennheiser 560s instead. you don't see gaming companies making open backs, so I'm glad Corsair is doing it. a lot of gamers never tried open backs before and I don't necessarily think one is better than the other. it really comes down to your use case and preference, and giving gamers that preference is important.
Honestly corsair has been doing cool products lately, this headset looks awesome like those Sennheiser headphones. It would be cool to have a Wireless / Bluetooth version but probably won't sound the same as this ones.
Great video! I found your channel years ago when you reviewed the Corsair HS75 XB, which I ended up getting from your review, you’ve been by far my go to guy for anything controller or headset related (may have also got the turtle beach controller because of you 👀) thanks again for the quality content!
