I agree with others here... it seems like that back hook is too small for the blade in front of it, either that or like one said, maybe let them take it down further? I would definately want to add a longer shank hook, or single hook on the back.. I'm betting that would make for better retention when they're hooked. Notice the 2 you landed had the middle hook in them.. also I'm concerned about the long wire on the back. I plan to try one at my local lake for bass too. BUT, if the blade brakes off i bet that would make a great spanish and king bait.
Another great video! Two questions sir, which color pattern are you using on this lure, and do you think the amount of fish lost has something to do with the lure design? Seems a lot of them dropped off easily and I doubt it was user error lol. Thanks!
I love the hellraizer, use it mainly for largemouth bass here in central Florida..only bad things is,if grass gets on it,it don't work.and the chatter part will bend and break after a few huge bass.but here soon I'ma use it for some snook and reds at fort desoto
@@southernsalt lmao..but I've caught bass from 1lb to 7lbs and they hold up pretty good.also caught some huge bowfin, their teeth tear it up but it is my go-to lure for topwater...
The hook on the blade looks a little small and I think being on or so close to the weighted blade could be an issue. Also we all have days where it seem you just can't land them, I hooked 6 snook this morning and landed zero but there's always tomorrow. Great video
Great vid as always bro. I’m tempted to film a review with it also but see if snook will eat it. I usually catch both snook and reds in the marsh with spinner baits and chatter baits so I think they should like this topwater also
Off topic but yesterday I came across about a dozen tailin' black drums and couldn't get them to bite. Is there a lure that can trigger a bite or do you need live bait?
may be one of those baits where you have to give the fish just a second more than normal, like i know throwing a buzz bait for bass you gotta give the fish time to suck it in and turn, it may be one of those deals, but you also could of been losing them from the hooks bending too, they like that thing tho😂great video man
I’ve been using that same lure Nate and I found you literally have to let them take it way longer than any other lure similar to frog topwater . I lost a lot of them too
@@southernsalt they’re short striking it only getting back hook in ‘em. I’m not sure what type hooks they are but I’m switching them out for better hooks
Looks interesting and productive (but $$!), I’ve used hard prop baits for years on reds and speckled trout, each of which is much less expensive (and they all float!).
Depending on the rod your using can be the issue . A more moderate action rod can eliminate pulling trebles out of their mouths maybe a medium action instead of med-heavy rod … jmo
@@southernsalt in my experience I switched my rod to 7’3” med moderate any time I’m throwing a treble hook bait seemed to help keep them pinned . Especially with braid cause it doesn’t give any . Great video and review of that bait .
I am sure its a good lure ,, time will tell ,, I am more impressed with your review ,, you pointed out all the ,, maybe suspect parts with the lure ,, some wouldn't ,, I hate when they charge top $$$ for a lure and you have to replace the hooks before you take it to the water ,, not a lure I would buy ,,
Yeah man it’s a great concept, but after the fact it’s just not designed for salt water and the brute strength of redfish. I’m going to keep chunking it to really test it.
Considering the comments section on every other video about this lure is filled with people saying they haven't caught s*** on it, I would say NO. The future of fishing is NOT gimmicky lures. You could hook a dog turd and get a fish to hit it once in a while, please stop peddling every lure that comes out like some corporate shill for the industry.
First off I’ll do whatever I want, secondly there’s no peddling I’m sure if you watched the video you would see an honest review and one that I’m sure the folks at Z-Man aren’t pleased with. I’m out here giving my honest opinion if you don’t like it you can move down to the next channel.
