6:50 i hate no item descriptions because it makes roguelikes harder to get back into after taking a break kinda ruining the pick-up and play of it all. I really wish item descriptions were hidden until you pick it up once so there's still that wonder and discovery while not accidently ruining a run because you forgot 1 item in particular just doesn't work with the current run
Coding the window is fairly easy technically, it's your run of the mill worldspace to screenspace (in that case window space, you take the window's xy position, and display what's in the world at that position by with a simple subtraction. So the player being in 500,500 and the window in 400,400, it will be displayed in 100,100 on the window), and you can just position/resize the window arbitrarily. Also clicking the cross on a window is just a suggestion (mostly, the window has to respond in a timely manner otherwise you'll get the "window is not responding") The easing is really well made though.
Instantly got Metal Marines vibes...I remember firing missiles from one window into another window back in the late 90s. If you can dig it up, it is totally worth playing.
Reto went sooo long before he was offered Multishot in the store. Drain and Peer are your windows, you can move them! They are windows so drag the top bar. Peer has an eye that is looking at an eye shaped outline... I wonder what happens if you move the eye over the outline. I suspect there is more to peer then you or Reto discovered. Reto found a way to record without showing his desktop. I like the discount for 3 of the same but I also don't have the mentality that it is something to try to force with rerolls, at least not until latter when you are dealing with costs in the thousands. I do like the idea of get two and clear the shop though. Either way clearing the shop after the purchase sounds like a good idea. Reto had all 4 of the bosses you've seen on the screen at once. There is a fifth boss, neither you or Reto saw it so it may be in a different game mode. Those "new" perks Reto didn't see until the same time, and given you can't manifest them... Reserve is being able to store another Bellows charge. Oh, the melee character destroys bullets with it's attack. I wish you checked the manifest menu to see if they had the same upgrades.(Edit: the game steam page shows a manifest window with a homing upgrade, I do think at least one upgrade is character specific, probably multishot)
Wild idea and while the core gameplay is simple this feels like a proof of concept in some ways and could absolutely get expanded upon in the future, like what if the player or the bosses could interact with desktop icons
The Backing Window option in the settings protects everything behind the game from being clicked on by making an invisible window that hides it. Fake Windows has a similar effect with more visual stability for the game overall, but you can't alt tab to other windows within the game when doing that
Tyler, Bellow deals damage and knocks away enemies at higher levels. Not sure if it got changed from v2 to v3, but eventually it starts 1-shotting the whole screen and keeps the whole screen open until the next use
Hello Funneh Robe-man; Nice game you got there. I feel like this should be the type of game where you could customize around and add your own sprites. Cause maybe I don't wanna be a pair of shapes, maybe I wanna be a Screaming Skull that shoots other Screaming Skulls
I think it's kinda ironic that he was concerned that the algorithm was gonna screw the vid but it's his most popular vid in the past two weeks. Other than that great vud
How the hell did they even code this, seems extremely difficult. Maybe it's a transparent borderless window that the game is actually played in, idk, but it is wild that this is possible.
I also want to know how do you code this? The fact that you can click outside of the window mean this is actual a window tab and not just a fullgame screen with "transparent background"(
holy hour long windowkill video i was gonna get it due to it being on sell but some other games took my money i remeber seeing it on itch and its a very interesting concept done decently well
Surviving 20 min is possible and zephyr is not bad I beat timed with them :) hint spoilers Peer to the eye Drain the lines Then bellow to the eye. Charge the light Smash the-
I played this game about a month ago on github and holy shit it was so unbalanced. My first run was multiple hours long with no end in sight. Glad that it's been tweaked a little, but still think it's a little too long.
@@art-cs6usNo, I thought that Cross Blitz looked really awesome in his video. I tried it and had a lot of fun, until I got stuck because I upgraded the wrong mercenary. Might play it again in the future after some updates.
