Still boring weather here in north Texas, warm and dry.although I bet like always, our drought always ends with a flood hopefully in November.thanks for the update WOTG.
I thought we were already in a La Niña? That was all the big news heading into June that El Niño was finally breaking. Did it just go away? Is that why all of a sudden, after a very long spring of flooding and above average precipitation, our drought we had the past two years seems to be ramping back up?
We've been in neutral conditions for the past few months. We are done with El Nino. Neutral conditions will give way to weak La Nina conditions by late Fall.
Do you think we may very well be looking at a repeat of last winter for the upper peninsula of Michigan? Things are not looking great based on these forecasts and observed trends.. last winter had a warm fall as well. That extremely warm dome in the northwest pacific might try to force another Aleutian low to develop in the eastern Gulf of Alaska and if it does.. our winter is not going to be good at all. Hoping that doesn't happen.
Good question. Last Winter was an El Nino Winter. This Winter is trending to be a weak La Nina Winter, which in the grand scheme of things means that colder and snowier conditions would be possible. But there are several factors that could disrupt that as well. I'll continue to keep you updated as Winter gets closer.
Mother Nature wants a repeat of last year’s winter with very little to No snow around here but overall I would just expect more rain than normal and possibly even some severe weather during the 2024 / 2025 winter season
Hunter I have a ton of friends and family who lives in Utah and they think the cold weather is coming soon if you live in mountains yes it could be a cooler winter than normal but if you don’t live in mountains than just forget about the the snow folks
More than likely not for quite sometime as temperatures will remain mostly above-normal going through much of this month, and perhaps into much of November as well.
Nina looks weak and not a major player strong pdo will be a player mjo phase 4 5 6 will be main phase this winter west qbo tends to bottle cold up more often the Eastern qbo things to keep eye on
@@nickmusson6745 The main driver this Winter will likely be something different month to month. For example, the MJO might be a major factor in January, then February, maybe it's the PDO. The Winter weather pattern this year appears complicated.
@@WeatherOnTheGoForecasts pdo strongly negative all winter that a given mjo yes phase 4 5 6 will be the favorite phases but yes I see a complicated winter from forcasting perspective setting up there lots of great signs but also some muddy signs as well
