That guy IS a god, even if you mess up with the Ph. His knowledge and creativity are unsurpassed. Totally amazing. Wish I could pick his mind for weeks.
He is incredibly hospitable, I'm sure if you kept buying things in his store he wouldn't mind! haha, you'll just have to find a tank for each week haha
Nice to see his store still running till now. His is no water change, deep gravels, alot of plants. You can see all his fishs are very healthy. This man is a good idea to ask him any question that you don't know or unsure. I think he know more than anyone of us.
Absolutely Kevin! I agree! I had such a blast talking with both of them during my stay. They are a TRUE, mom and pop shop that care about your relationship with fish and aquariums and truly know how to learn through experience☺.
Omggg yessss! I’ve been dreaming of visiting this shop for so long! And when I got there I definitely was impressed. The health of the fish and plants, and their interactions with the public are top class :)
Hello! This is a great question! Yes I always advise water changes! I like to think of water changes as beneficial annnnndddd It may initially seem like Justin doesn’t do water changes at his store, and relies heavily on his plants; however in actuality, this store sells many fish and plants, where each sale takes a small portion of the tank water and in turn, reducing the water volume over time(apart from evaporation). This is a form of water changing that we don’t really experience at home unless we too are selling fish or moving fish from one tank to another. So… technically he is still performing water changes, just not in the same fashion as many home aquarists taking 15-30% of their tank volume at one time :)
Those are passive CO2 containers. The drink bottles that is.He let's in CO2 via a hose and it dissolves naturally into the water. It's a low budget effective way to do it.
It does seem that way, however these bettas were pretty active regardless. This store utilizes deep substrate beds which can be beneficial for the beta vs those traditional small empty cups!!
@@fishegirl Oh hell yeah! Those tiny cups are insane. I have never witnessed them in cups in the UK. Most common way I see them here is on a rack style display or in tanks with other fish.
@@littlematt293 that’s super cool that the UK places them in tanks with other fish; unfortunately some stores are still pretty basic and rocking the old fashioned Betts cups here in the US, however some stores are definately moving up in the betts displays as the years go on and the hobby expands :)
Before you judge ... check the video with the owner of the shop...and learn lots of things from him . He is dedicated ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rg1u-XVMU3Q.html
@@Twowheelsonelens Nice video, the guy seems knowledgeable. However I don't think it is fair to keep a fish in a coffee cup that has less than a litre capacity let alone being half full of gravel. He taught me nothing in that video unfortunately. Thanks for sharing the vid though!
