Deliandro is great! You can tell he's getting more and more comfortable in front of the camera every time. Maybe he might have a future on TOH?

I love the dado on the back side of the window casing to take into account the window nailing flange. If the hadn't done this the trim would have rolled.

Chain cutters for cutting large cast iron pipe are extremely expensive. A much less expensive option is a Diablo Steel Demon Carbide Teeth reciprocating saw blade. These blades are not cheap, but they cut through a large pipe in 5 minutes and I could reuse it several times. I'd also tried the better metal cutting blades from Milwaukee and Lenox, and it took over an hour to make one full cut and it destroyed 5 of those blades. Of course, I only learned about the carbide demon blade option after I'd bought a used chain cutter on Craigslist that ended up also being a terrible buy as the chain blades were too dull (replacement chains are incredibly expensive).

They make removing the cast iron pipes look so easy... It was NOT that easy when I started on my plumbing. Took a while.... 😂 (House was built around 1931 with bare minimal updates)

What precautions need to be taken with that PVC window trim as far as warping in extreme Summer heat?
@JimKlus-jc4dw
@JimKlus-jc4dw 8 дней назад
PVC is a thermoplastic that can withstand 140 degrees F and PVC pipes up to 220 degrees F.

Don't paint It a dark color without thinking about sag. If it's going to be painted dark, use extra fasteners to prevent sagging in the sunlight.

I LOVE TOH & the guys & have forever....HOWEVER... why not layout/plan the plumbing FIRST then move/build walls second? I would AND... underneath the z bend I would apply a small bead of OSI before installing the flashing. I call it 'back caulking'... & I would put a smidge on the end of the 'water table' or I call it a ledger, when butted against the vertical corner board. If a little water gets behind the initial surface, it really won't get too far.

I'm not a big fan of bathrooms next to kitchens or dining areas. Would have been nice to figure out the master bath toilet before drilling the wrong hole in the floor. This looks like it's going to be a nice renovation overall.
@ALAN-gn4ud

Yea because when you’re having a dinner party, you can hear someone flush the toilet upstairs. A good plumber would have used cast iron in the wall for the riser so that you wouldn’t hear it.
