Oh noooo, how /dare/ they ask for money for producing a great product. They /definitely/ don't deserve it. Just to be 10000% clear. That's sarcasm.

What is the general consensus about spray insulation just below the roof line with an entirely sealed attic instead of a standard other means of insulating an attic for my FL 50 yr old single story home timber frame construction, thanks.

I love the show, I started watching This Old House in my late teens and/ or early 20's. i am 52 years young now. The one thing I really miss about the Ask This Old House series is what is this. All the guys standing around a table with items asking what is it. So many great but wrong answers. I feel so blessed that I have been able to watch all the great Craftsmen over the last 30 + years. Thank you so much for sharing all the tips and tricks that I probably never would have picked up on today without TOH and ATOH.

Really appreciate what you guys are doing. I'm 30 years old and a concrete mason by trade. I have always been much better at learning something by doing it than by reading about it in a book. There's nothing wrong with going to collage and learning about computers, business, Ect, but the fact remains that not everyone is suited for that. We still need true craftspeople and the fact that you guys are doing your damndest to keep it alive is great. keep up the good work.

I think its great that you guys are getting on the Mike Rowe train and will donate all profits towards his organization. The fact that he spends his spare time in front of congress trying to convince them what needs to be done is phenomenal. I've been a fan of this old house since I can remember first seeing it in the early 80's. I've learned tons of valuable information and use it to this day. I enjoy watching now still to keep up to date with the new things technology brings and also use your shows as a library...just incase i forget something I need to do but haven't done in years...Thanks for all the hard work and to your future endeavors. I appreciate all the knowledge I've gained and used over my life...thanks to all who is and was involved in the show 🍻

I have watched This Old House and Ask This Old House for years and have learned a great deal from the shows. I fully agree that there is a need for skilled craftsmen. It is fantastic that you all are trying to do something about the skill gap in the trades. I do think that High Schools should promote (and not look down on) vocational hands-on education as much as Liberal Art Colleges and Universities. I love to do wood working and learning new wood working skills. Each one of the cast on This Old House and Ask This Old House is an inspiration and does a brilliant job of teaching their skills to others. Thank you!

With regard to the skills gap, I am a journeyman electrician with 20+years experience. I left the trade for a few years and wanted to start my own business. While I was pursuing my license I ran into a situation where you can't sit for the license exam unless you have worked in the field 6 months before. If there is that great of a skills gap, why don't the state license boards make it easier for tradesmen with verifiable, long term experience to get a license? I never worked for a private contractor but a state agency for 20+ years.

I see all the great benefits to becoming an insider, and I also see the thirty day free tria. What I don't see is what cost, if any, would be incurred upon insiders after the thirty day period. If you could put a terms and conditions link somewhere conspicuous on the site thisoldhouse.com/learn , that'd be great!

Love the chemistry of the live show with everyone. The only issue is the audio levels from each remote mic. I know your a TV shop but maybe you should do it more radio style like is more common for these types of shows. Full size mic on an arm so it can be positioned well. Just a suggestion, I'll watch either way.

It could be a limitation of the internet connection as well. I agree the audio was pretty bad, they were peaking at times and the microphone volume needed to be leveled out and the video quality was sub par.

Problem, contractors, at least in my state have a horrible reputation for theft, shitty work, etc. Most all will have one or two licensed professionals, and dozens of illegals, which you won't see until the job starts. The only thing people near me trust least than contractors, are politicians and attorneys.

As a suggestion for a "road trip" I remember seeing an article or video about a high school program for kids to learn the building trade where they build a home (in house I think) and then sell the home for the school band program (or something like that). I don't remember where or when I saw that. If anyone knows or can offer suggestions about what I'm (thinking) I saw or read, please do.

INSIDER? what a joke! TO THE TOH PRODUCERS: SALE OF CONTENT IS OBSOLETE AND A NEGATIVE. THIS CONTENT CAN BE FOUND FREE AT COUNTLESS OUTLETS. ALL CONTENT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE AT NO CHARGE. THIS WILL IN TURN CREATE A BASE WHICH WILL DRIVE UP VIEWS, FANS, SUPPORTERS. TO BE RELEVANT THE SHOW MUST CONTINUE TO GROW ITS BASE AND AUDIENCE DEMOGRAPHICS. AT THIS CURRENT PLAN, IT WILL NOT BE SUSTAINABLE FOR LONG. HENCE, "INSIDER" IN THE ONLINE WORLD ,,,,,HAS BEEN A LONG TIME HAPPENING I.E.,,,,,, REDDIT AMA. ITS SAD TO SEE SUCH A GOOD SHOW WITH GREAT CRAFTSMEN BE LED DOWN A ROAD WHICH IS SURELY TO LEAD TO LESS AND LESS POPULARITY. THIS IS NOT DUE TO THE CRAFTSMEN BUT RATHER TO THE PRODUCERS WHICH OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT UP TO DATE IN THIS ONLINE WORLD WHICH ALL THINGS RELEVANT ARE ONLINE WITH PROFITS COMING FROM AD REVENUES, PRODUCT SALES AND PLACEMENT. NOT THE SALE OF CONTENT...... HOPEFULLY THIS WILL CHANGE QUICKLY AND ALLOW TOH TO FULFILL ITS POTENTIAL AND CONTINUE TO BE AT THE FOREFRONT OF HOME SHOWS. REGARDS, TOP PRODUCER

The old days of getting a job at your daddy's factory straight out of High School without any skills are gone. You have to have training whether it's a college degree or the trades. If you don't have those, you'll be one of those angry guys yelling about how immigrants are taking your job and you spend your time finding scapegoats rather than having skills that employers want.
