This One Broke Me (Both Leo Endings)- Echo #45 

When I first played this game, it broke me in a lot of ways. Especially this route. I had my own Leo that was my first major relationship and ended so horribly. I was at the start of my current one, a few months into it, and it really helped me process my feelings. I'm still with the boyfriend I was with when first playing Echo and we've been together for 2 years now. I don't know how your own personal story has gone, but either way, I hope you're doing better and if not? You deserve better. Just from what I've caught you're a fast reader who can quickly read a comment and then know exactly how to act it out. I'm sure people have complained about the length of your videos but you cover so much more in 15-20 minutes than what most do in an hour. And that comes from both skill and comprehension. Not to boil down a persons worth to that, which would be very silly, but it's a starting point that, combining it with your refusal to say certain words, paints you as an introspective and caring person. Essentially what I'm trying to say is that I hope you realize that worth within yourself. Again, I'm responding to a video posted over a year ago but in case things haven't changed I just felt the urge to say that. And I guess to keep this on topic: definitely read Route 65 before the prequel or sequel. It's a phenomenal piece of work that is just as emotionally complex as Leo's route, while possibly being more sinister the more you know from the main game. Also how would I spell Nery, Nary, etc. I could call you Drake but you introduce yourself as the former every time so I want to get that right.

Echo clearly aims at young adults. It helps to understand and cope through adulthood. Im really proud of the creators

Can we just take a moment and appreciate the best raccoon here? I love Kudzu. He's so cute and protective like a momma Kud. It's what i like most about Leo's route. (Or even in the whole game i dunno)

The good Leo ending fucked me up pretty bad. My brain logically knew Kudzu was the right one for me but there was something defeating about Leo telling Chase he stopped thinking of him for the better, like there was nothing that came out of that damage in order for what we went through to be good damage to have it work out between us. It was just damage. I kid you not I just closed my laptop and stared at the ceiling for about 10 minutes

God, thank you for doing Leo's path, it's been a privilege to experience it again through fresh eyes :'). I was debating on whether or not to suggest you power through the entire ending but I'm so glad you went for it anyway. Leo's entire story was so impactful, so emotional, I don't think I'll ever forget it. The song at the end is called Blurry by Bug Boy, I'm pretty sure it was made for Echo and you should give it a listen cause it really describes Leo so well and was like the perfect song to end this emotional rollercoaster. Yeah, The Smoke Room is the prequel set like 100 years in the past (fair warning, main guy works at a brothel as a gay escort, it gets steamy) and Arches is set 5 years in the future, so set in 2020, with a new cast of characters. There's also a mini prequel called Echo: Route 65 that tells the story of a younger Chase coming out and it gets referenced in Jenna's path, but it's not necessary.

As someone who mainly goes for a love/Full fluff vn, I am very traumatized despite only going through two routes:)

I feel like this route in general definitely hits hard for anyone who's gone through a bad relationship coming to an end. At least, I know it did for me, too. Echo's definitely my favorite visual novel and one of my biggest inspirations for a reason. It feels relatable. While watching, I felt like I wanted to say more, but I'm not really sure what else to say now. I hope you're doing ok and that Echo was a positive experience for you.

Please, you are not alone! His ending hit very close to home for me as well, although not in the romantic but in the friendship sense. I had a good friend that I screwed up my friendship with in highschool and was never able to get any closure, and it haunts me to this day. This ending reopened some of those wounds so it really really hit me hard unexpectedly. I admittedly have a terrible time learning how to let go and move on, I could see a lot of myself within this ending and I hope to heal as well.

Wow i actually like this. Kudzu is great and honestly someone that Chase needs, even thought he doesn't even deserve him, but still, that they are together is great. And Leo being fine, still out there, moved on at least by an inch is good too. Is he still a clusterfuck of problems by the end? Yes. But removing the bracelet honestly makes me feel like he's finally on the good path or at least one that's not as bad as he been on before and i'm genuinely happy for him.

I loved listening to your voiceover, you're really good at emphasizing emotions while you read. It's also really touching, getting to see someone else react to some of those moments like we did for the first time. I remember in the last scene of the good ending, realizing Leo finally understood everything he had been doing, realizing he was back to the real Leo, but understanding it was just too late made me bawl. I look forward to coming back and listening to more

the very beginning of Arches is horror

When I first started the game (starting Leo’s Route) I hoped so much they would end up together wholesomely, but when I began reaching the end I saved at the point where it gave me the choices, obviously I choose to “work something out” and was horrified when Leo pulled Chase off the train, I mentally died on the inside as Chase bled to death while being spooned Leo. The choice “No/It’s over” Was no better in my opinion solely because I was salty that Kudzu ended up w/ Chase in Leo’s place and realising that Leo hadn’t hoped on the train with them only depend the guilt I felt. Even though Chase revisited a few years down the road, Leo denying his number just hurt me even more. In the end it was a great VN but me along with many others I’m sure, we’re disappointed to see Leo and Chase wouldn’t end up together no matter the route chosen.

Alarm-chan got vetoed, we got closure, we boyfriends with Kud, Leo (the last girl) survived the horror movie... we went BACK to Echo for a little bit. xD Makes me wonder what these other routes look like. Most horror stories make me only wanna watch or play one time. The Echo series is so well written that I wanna see it all.

I wanted a happy ending with Leo, but in the end, he just seemed too troubled. Also, lot of gay dudes for such a small town.

4 points i want to discuss 1. i hope you don't start over from the begining for the next route 2. i would advice to do Carl's route next, i explained why in more detail in a comment in part 20, but the gist of it is that for some reason or another, all the other routes are best saved for later 3. Echo has a prequel and a sequel: The Smoke Room set in 1915 that tells the story of how the town got cursed, and Arches set 5 years after Echo, in fact the coyote and bear couple we saw in the epilogue and Cameron and Devon the protagonists of Arches 4.how did your opinion of Leo changed throughout the route?

The bad Leo ending reminds me of The Doll Maker from Welcome To The Game 2 for some reason.

just finished leo's route and i cant even go back to the good ending, it was so heartbreaking... huhuhuh
