I have been away from making content focusing on other things and I've come to discover that creating content is the one thing I need to recommit to do regardless of what else get's in the way because it brings me the most joy and self fulfillment.
If you've been around for a long time thank you for being here. If you're new, welcome, don't be scared to drop a comment below. You can all expect weekly videos to be dropped once a week on Friday with chances for extra content when I find the time to make it work.

💯 it makes a lot of sense to focus on what you love, especially if you can earn a living off of it. BTW it's CerealCulture (Robert), this is just my personal RU-vid. Some ideas for videos on top of the cereal reviews: *Cereal gameshows (I've noticed some of the biggest youtube channels are gameshows) - just within your house with your friends *Vlogs looking for cereal in stores *Top 10s (best toys inside cereals, best sugar cereals etc.) *Cereal cafes/stores make mystery boxes full of cereal for you to unbox *Interview a person high up in one of the top cereal companies *Cereal cafe reviews *Cereal music videos Good luck! :D Robert

Sorry to hear you were laid off , but things happen for a reason . Perhaps this happened for you to realize this truly is the road you need to follow! Where one door closes , another opens! I’ll be here to support ! First recommendation - let’s do “battle “ videos . Example : the battle of all cinnamon cereals , etc , etc . Essentially a ranking system . Just an idea!! 🇺🇸👍

I'm definitely a believer that the end of one thing allows the beginning of others. I'm ready for new and expanded stuff this coming year and my goal is 1 video a week for 12 weeks as a start. We'll see how it goes and reevaluate from there. Thanks for the tip.

I've been a subscriber for years, and love the cereal reviews, but I think you need to be real with yourself...this channel will not support you financially. I know this may come off as cruel and crushing your dreams, but it's kind of like telling a kid they're not gonna make the NFL or MLB. Odds are not in your favor, not by a longshot. Even if you do put in a bunch of time and effort and work super hard at it. I think if you want to do continue this channel as a side hobby that's fine, especially since this is something you enjoy doing. But I would not count on it supporting you financially. I'd hate to see another video a year or two from now where you are in worse financial/mental shape because you dedicated your entire time to this channel/content but it didn't pay off. My advice is get a job that gets you a steady income. And it most likely will be a job you don't particularly enjoy (welcome to adulthood). Maybe it's not in digital marketing, which you mentioned were your prior jobs. Ever consider coding? Try a coding bootcamp and you'll be amazed how many companies are looking for software developers, even inexperienced ones. Good luck.

Does that mean you're a coder? Maybe I wasn't clear in my video. I didn't mean that I'm putting all of my hopes and dreams into this channel. I think you're right that at best this can be a fun side hustle that brings in some money sure but nothing I can love off of entirely. I meant that I'm putting a lot of my eggs into the basket of content creation. I have so much to say and Ive been wanting to say it for years now but just haven't made the push to expand much outside of cereal. So I'll be putting in time consistently to this channel but more equal and eventually more amounts of time into building up some of my other channels and brands so that I can have multiple streams of income and connect with a wider audience. I appreciate you candor as the reality check is necessary. But the issue I've encountered is that while pursuing my career outside of this, I've found myself in places that take more from me then they give back. I'm looking for a more equitable career that I can rely on for my bills and my family so that when I'm not doing that, I have more to give into my side hustle and passions.

@@CerealSnob I understand now what you're saying about going all in on content creation beyond this channel. I wish you all the best, and as I'm sure you know, the content creation field is an EXTREMELY competitive field/industry. "Making it" or even just earning a livable income takes not only lots of hard work but also a good amount of luck. But, I respect someone trying to follow their dreams and passion. And yes I am in software development. I went to college for it, but I also work with lots of colleagues who either learned it on their own or have done this as a second career. SQL and/or Python are two languages that a lot of beginners start with if that might be something that interests you. Entry level pay for these jobs is very reasonable, and nowadays a lot of these tech jobs are fully remote, giving you a lot of freedom to also do other things. Best of luck.
