For episode 10 of K-Beauty This or That I had to take it back to one of my favorite Korean skincare ingredients, snail! This was one of the very first ingredients I got excited about on my K-beauty journey and one that's made a big difference to my skin over the years.
So today I want to focus on some repairing snail serums from Purito and Beauty of Joseon, compare the Benton snail serum to Iunik's serum since they both feature fermented ingredients and finally take a look at two snail eye creams from Mizon and Cosrx that also feature peptides!

@Thinia both does in the very core of intention hydrate, soothe, and stuff related to the hydration of the skin. Some difference there might be the additional supporting ingredients in each products. (My suggestion tho, go to INCIdecoder then compare any product you're curious about. They too scientifically elaborate each ingredients in them). Imo both would do just as awesome and fine hydrating one's skin of any type (sensitive included), it downs to one's preference atotd(?). Hope it helps.

Hooray! Snail! My skin has changed for the better since introducing it to my skincare routine, thank you for doing a whole video on it. I want to recommend the COSRX Snail Essence to anyone who, like myself, already has way too many serums. I wanted a way to use it everyday without over-doing it on my serums (which I am guilty of sometimes.) It works amazingly well and leaves my skin luminous.

I guess I have to give snail mucin another chance. When I started with skincare I got the Cosrx Snail Mucin but I didn’t feel or see any improvement to my skin so I didn’t repurchase. I’m leaning towards Benton now since you’ve mentioned that it’s good for hyperpigmentation. I hope to see more in this series. It really helps me in choosing what to get next. 😊

This is really helpful. I love snail as an ingredient and your comparisons are what I needed to hear. I use the Mizon eye cream but it has an ingredient (phenoxyethanol) that I'm supposed to avoid. I was hoping the Cosrx would be a good substitute and you confirmed that for me. Also, your videos about the skin barrier literally saved me. My skin recently became sensitized either from a Vitamin C serum or from Differin, but I had no idea what was happening. My face was stinging when I was applying products (like the Mizon eye cream) that had never before bothered me. I used your advice on how to heal my skin barrier and my face has calmed back down. I'm a new subscriber but looking forward to learning more from you.

Cosrx has phenoxyethanol, it is the last ingredient. Probably very small amount, but it does have it.

Yay ep 10! I used two tubs of the mizon one cuz the ingredients looked good and it was budget friendly. And I have to say, NOT WORTH IT. It's not moisturizing/occlusive enough. I have combo/dry skin, esp under eye/upper cheek area, and I used it in my mid-late 20s. Even back then, I didn't think it was nourishing enough. I'm using the cosrx now for day time, and it has been amazing! The only lightweight eyecream I've tried that is actually moisturizing enough.

I enjoy using the travel size versions of the eye creams...currently I'm on Benton fermentation eye cream and next I'll use the Mizon snail repair eye cream. Both are tubes which I prefer, and the smaller size makes me more likely to finish it before it expires...

I bought both the cosrx snail 96, and the iunik black snail. The cosrx had almost instant results. The iunik didn't do anything for me.

Well I actually love seeing niacinamide everywhere, it’s such an amazing ingredient! And even though my skin is very sensitive it can take it very well. As for the snails, I’ve never tried it, but I definitely am going to. Thanks for the very informative video

ok wow, you just blew my mind. how you explained how stimulating collagen can help with aging AND acne. but i never thought of the correlation! i've always wondered how tretinoin can do both with the same process of stimulating collagen. so by that logic, would peptides be good for healing acne just like it is good for aging?

From snail I’ve tried BOJ, Iunik, Benton (Essence) and Cosrx…Iunik and BOJ are by far my favourites I saw and felt bigger benefits with Iunik than with Benton My skin did not get on with Benton I felt Iunik made much more difference to my skin Maybe due to mugwort? Each skin is different so…

Loved this video! Speaking of Mizon, where in my routine would I use their All in one Snail Repair? It doesn't seem like a moisturizer but it's a little too thick to be a serum... Thoughts? And please do another update video on serious K-Beauty sunscreens? I have just found a new one from B Labs called I Am Sorry Just Sun Cream, on at Jolse now for $7.99...feels like a moisturizer but it's SPF 50+, with a PA rating of ++++... I have been loving it. Hi Kelly!! I have been absolutely loving the Olivarrier Dual Moist Essence for the past few months from your recommendation. I’ve started using a week ago. As far as I can tell, it really has improved my hyperpigmentation, that’s something I noticed after the third day. I’m still waiting a little for the scarring effect since I’m using it with a dermaroller. We’ll see in the future how that goes :)

To eyecream or not to eyecream. What are the benefits of using an eye cream as many beauty influencers are saying that these are just overpriced face creams. But you were saying that the mizon eye cream has a non-greasy texture so maybe it is worth it? Is the Mizon snail repair eye cream the same in the jar and tube? I'm seeing different ingredients from different sellers. Different types of peptides used too. I don't know if this is because they reformulated it and sellers just need to update their info or the jar and tube formulations are actually different.

I love the cosrx snail mucin essence because it is very moisturising and hydrating. But i wanna stop using animal products in my skincare so I was wondering if there was any alternative essences that were just as moisturising but not greasy. I have dehydrated skin that is prone to little comedogenic breakouts (eg olive oil can give me lil spots). And i want dewy and hydrated skin and would love the essence to have some antioxidant benefits. Love your videos !

I'm so puzzled. I have the Cosrx eye cream and I hear what you say about it, but my experience is that it is very heavy and sticky. I almost can't stand it on my skin. What is going on here? I know my mileage may vary, but I'm finding this to be true on a regular basis and am having trouble finding products that are not too heavy and sticky.
