Creating this painting was an adventure! Initially, I had a specific color palette in mind, but as I began working on it, the painting seemed to have a mind of its own and led me in a different direction. It transitioned from vibrant colors to neutral shades, eventually settling on a vibrant retro palette. This is what's fascinating about abstract art - it's so intuitive and the painting seems to have a personality of its own 😉. I must admit, the process of creating this artwork was incredibly fulfilling, but it also had its challenges. With each layer, the painting took on a completely new and unexpected direction. I had to let go of my previous expectations and embrace the new path to keep progressing. Thats why, the title of this artwork became 'Letting go'. What I really enjoy about working with transparent layering is the possibility to keep changing the artwork. It's incredibly forgiving in that sense. However, when dealing with multiple layers, it was crucial to ensure that the composition remained clean and peaceful. Thank you so much for watching!! I hope you loved watching my process, just as much as I did creating it. The Artwork: 'Letting Go'' Size: 28x40in (70x100cm) Series: 'Memories are forever'
I don’t know what I love more watching this come to life, seeing where your journey is going all the new horizons or your excitement with each new painting. It’s a delight to see you coming into your own as an artist to grow. I’ve never been disappointed in anything you foray into Rinske.
This technique really gives the vibes of watercolour painting and how you build up the layers to create something beautiful that emerges from the adding of layers, stunning❤️
Hi Rinske, It's an honour watching you paint. The experimentation with these creations is so exciting to watch. I love the layering and transparency of the paints. It is so important with this technique that you get the colour pallette right and I think you did that with this one in the end. It comes across that you are really enjoying yourself and therefore we do too. Thank you.🥰
It's beautiful. So was the journey. This knowledge of the paint (and how much water it can take) is why you're an Amsterdam ambassador - you speak with their colors.
WOW! I'm starting my abstract painting journey , and I recently bought transparent paint. I can't wait to brush them on. Gorgeous, Rinske. Thank you for all your creativity! 🙂🖌
I love this amazing new style, and I think you've really made it so appealing. I also love how much fun you're having with this process, and it's certainly added a spark of creativity! This painting came out really beautifully. Congrats on finding your new style and on sharing your gorgeous new home with us!
This creation is so beautiful and it was so much fun to see your process of layering colors and of course how you changed your mind along the way. Paintings are like that, they have their own story to tell, we just need to allow that to come through. Thank you for sharing this process with us!❤
You have inspired my own art journey. I absolutely love where your journey is taking you. Watching you create calls my soul. So happy to see you settled in your new home.
Your excitement is contagious, Rinske, which makes the viewer “feel” this piece!! Thanks again for this amazing video, I enjoyed every bit of it and love the colours of your walls 😍❤️❤️
Watching you paint and the journey you go through takes me away from my current situation and into your beautiful art world I feel your excitement and your art never disappoints me this painting turned out beautiful
Wow 😍 these are absolutely gorgeous!!! Thank you so much for sharing your process and techniques. As a amateur artist I find it so inspiring and educational to see the different ways you create your beautiful pieces. Repeatedly inspired to try new things and be free or with simply experimenting instead of being focused on the outcome. This is especially valuable to me as it helps me so much with my struggle with depression. When I find inspiration to paint and can escape the workings of my mind it is invaluable to me. You are such a gift and I am so grateful for what you do!
These art pieces are Devine, I love how you build the colours up, with the deliberate starting and progressive colour placement, then out of nowhere, when the background looks great, a striking change which, initially immediate thoughts are why did she do that. But the results do add more dimension to the layers of colour and it# composition. I notice you have started making your own canvas and I wonder if you would clarify if this is “Raw Canvas”? You said the paints work differently with the gesso coating? I would like to try with this to see the difference. I noticed the colour of the canvas was a more brownish/grey colour. Is that how it comes. Also is it a linen, duck or some other material? PS I’m enjoying your Dutch Bloom course.
Wow, such an interesting transformation. Lots of fun watching funny how you can change things with just a stroke of a different color or spray paint but it’s a lovely painting very retro brings back memories of the 70s 60s vibes but yet current Very cool
I love your work, whatever style you use. I have to say that this is not my favorite but that's the colors more than anything. It is very retro and I know lots of people who love that...I'm just not one of them. I look forward to what's next ❤
I absolutely love the composition of this piece, all your work is very positive and peaceful, but this one speaks to me in particular. I am going to try to attempt at least some of it (I can’t paint to save my life), but you’re very inspiring!
I must admit although I loved watching the journey you went through, (not many artists show the vision changes as they happen and that part is so so crucial to understanding how the final piece came to be) I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the results… and then you changed/blended some colors again and I thought..” ahhhh there it is😁” beautiful!
Rinske, I absolutely couldn't figure out where you were going with this creation. Based on your statement you had sleepless night over it, I truly understood your artistic dilemma! In the end, I appreciated all the layers as it developed & found it beautiful hung in its new home. What a process!! I love, love, love transparent layers & the evolution of the composition. I'm going to toss in my unsolicited opinion here. In addition to the yellow chalk line, adding the suggested thin gold line traveling through more colors - specifically the darkest segment. The yellow skips that, giving illusion it was earlier step than it actually was. One continuous faint gold line traveling through more dominant color blocks, as if adding the exclamation point of finality. Just a thought... I sincerely thank you for allowing us to travel the artistic journey with you. It shows tremendous vulnerability as a creative soul. I have enough insecurities in my artistic abilities that I don't think I could be as forthcoming as you are. You rise ever so brilliantly by doing "you". Kudos Woman! The lessons you teach your son (and by extension me & all viewers) about confidence & exploration are priceless. Thank you, Rinske❤
seriously this comment speaks so deeply to me. This is exactly how I felt creating this and hoped it come across. Thank YOU! Your reaction and feedback means so much to me. Just read it out loid to Wouter and told him, this is what I wanted, people to connect with me and painting. He said, I told you... you need a gold line🤣😉. Thank you again!
Wow is so beautiful I love the finish results. A have a question do you previously paint the canvas and do you use fluid or tube paint? Thank you so much is a wonderful watch went you paint.
How do you get your colour paints so runny? Do you mix it with something in the cup? Can you show a video which acrylic paints you're using and how you mix it?
Hi Rinske. I like very much this new style, but there was so much suspense for me watching the progress 😨😂. I was talking to you all along: please don't change the color this is perfect, but than after next layer, it looked even more beautiful of course. After relaxing and thinking ok, ok everything is good you are changing plan and introducing new idea. 😰Oh no don't do that! You'll ruin it! And the painting was more interesting and gorgeous. So, in the end, I just leaned back, shut up and relaxed. Yes, Rinske "knows". ❤
Question. Do you leave the rest of the canvas as is, or do you first apply a layer of gesso or white paint? I always wondered if any of the canvas should be left untreated, if you will.
I love watching your videos this turned out great, but for some reasons I been visualizing a gold line in the direction of the dark area in the middle of it and I’m not sure why.
Amazing Rinske, love the colors. How much water do you add to your paint for the transparent colors? I want to try it but I’ve got such arthritis in my shoulders I’m looking for some thing easy to brush on.
What kind of brush are you using? I’ve been wanting to do this with the Amsterdam pearl paints. They look white when you first apply them and then turn color as they dry.
Aren't you nervous about diluting acrylic with so much water? I have heard that it can negatively affect the strength of the binding agent and cause the paint to peel or flake off.
