There's too much negativity in the comments. Come on, guys. They're testing the bike to identify and fix the flaws. Most other channels wouldn't even show this process. I appreciate the transparency throughout the build process, Chase. Keep up the great work.

Threadlock EVERYTHING!! You only need the weakest threadlock, but it prevents vibrations from backing threads out (and it helps prevent thread corrosion).

I know this is why you do the shakedowns but this is part of why, as much as I'd like a Panigale, I haven't entered for this one. Whatever rules you have to abide by that make you have to complete everything in a set amount of time seem to be making you guys, Brian included apparently, cut some corners. This shit is dangerous. Please don't rush anything for a deadline

Honestly, this whole bike has been nothing but a train wreck. Both from supplies and the complete lack of oversight. Frankly, what the hell is Brian doing? Isn't he supposed to be there as a master technician to make sure something this obvious isn't missed? Your build is now a cautionary tale as to what too much money and not knowing what you are doing can do.

Looking back to episode 21 where they literally leave everything on those wheels finger tight, and even make a dick jokes about not torquing everything down, doesn't suddenly seem so funny anymore. Someone might have forgotten something... I mean. Both of the wheels were fooked. Either you did the torquing off camera, and you can blame it on the vibrations. Or you didn't.
@lukemctyre3394
@lukemctyre3394 4 года назад
We do shakedowns for a reason. We all failed as a shop to ensure proper torque specs as a whole. The blame is on no one person. This is an issue that will not appear in future builds.
@Mobiusshazarr
@Mobiusshazarr 4 года назад
@@lukemctyre3394 i appreciate a response on a very pointed criticism. I don't think it would have been so bad if the last shakedown didn't have this same problem on the front wheel. Since i know it was for the content thst it was put up, but the second shakedown should not have been uploaded. The first time was a blind run, but this makes every current and potential Patreon supporter wary of the product you guys worked so hard on. I've been watching since before WBR even was a thing, and it sucks to see this self inflicted black eye right after watching the last one.

So I’d like to point out, that he has royally screwed up twice on this bike. Once with the front brake, and now the chain. Both are extremely important/ basic things that should be installed properly and torqued to spec . If you think other things aren’t completely fawked up on this bike, especially the more technical things you are sadly mistaken. You’ve created a death machine and you’re lucky it hasn’t killed you already in the previous episode when your front brake was falling apart down the road 🤦🏻‍♂️ this channel is a sad story waiting to happen
@oneonlyxram

Chase I love your content, but the things that you have going wrong are BASIC things as a mechanic you should be doing properly. Getting the maintenance manual for the bike to get the proper way Ducati torques their bolts is very important. Do this with every bike you rebuild. Do more research and get all the information you need before doing another one of these, because this is a poor attempt and ruins your credibility.
@JEPPAY
@JEPPAY 4 года назад
constructive but honest. Nice one mate :) Chase is going to be devistated when he reads these comments :( ... but its true. A soo simple thing as to torque down the chain kit, is so important and for that matter ... easy. I wouldnt ride it :(
@oneonlyxram
@oneonlyxram 4 года назад
@@JEPPAY I don't believe in just saying to someone that what they did is crap. I want to help them move on from that low spot and not make the same mistake again. Having been an aircraft mech for years in the military, doing things by the book saves lives. So I hope chase reads some with a grain of salt, and others (like mine), he takes time to really learn how to do things properly. I wouldn't touch the bike the way that it sits now. Thanks for the comment man, most would think I'm just being an ass or something.

You do realize hes never claimed to be a mechanic right. That's why Brian is there so not Chase's fault.
@oneonlyxram
@oneonlyxram 4 года назад
@@jtmunn4496 you don't have to "claim" to be a mechanic, he put his hands on tools and performed mechanical tasks. By that he is being a mechanic, whether he believes it or not. It's both of their fault for missing torques, they are giving this bike to a another person, it has to be mechanically sound. So they (Chase and Brian) have to take ownership of these mistakes, correct them (which I'm sure they will) and move on. Don't defend poor workmanship, what I wrote was constructive and for you to say "well he doesn't claim to be a mechanic " is simple minded on your part. Have a good one JT, hold people, and yourself to a high standard, you'll be amazed at the results.

I’m going to be straight forward... Every Ducati you have had on wrecked bike rebuild has had nothing but complications. 30 episodes is over doing it. If I may suggest for the next wrecked bike rebuild series you choose a bike that is not European. Unnecessarily complicated machines to work on. You have done nothing but big bikes for rebuilds. I think it would be cool to see a small bike in there like a ninja 300/400 or something similar. With all that said please take this as constructive criticism, I appreciate the hard work you do for your channel and providing entertainment.

@spaceman_az
@spaceman_az 4 года назад
Lukasz Wereszko you’re probably right, but also to keep in kind he put $30k+ into that bike. If he rebuilt any other Japanese sport bike it would have cost a fraction and would have taken half the time. He could have pushed out 3 bikes and still make the same on them.
@spaceman_az
@spaceman_az 4 года назад
HandsomeHolland I didn’t say anything about lose bolts. Refer to the exhaust instal video. Note how many parts they had to remove from the bike to install an exhaust system. Another example; the rear shock install. They had to remove once again a lot of parts to do it. Yet another example; the carbon fiber exhaust heat shield. They had to once again remove a ton of parts just to find out it didn’t even fit correctly. The point I’m trying to make is most European bikes are unnecessarily complex to work on. An exhaust system install on a ninja would have taken a fraction of the time and money. Another point I want to make is it would be better to see more bikes given away than waiting an entire year and some change for one bike.
@RoadUser_Motovlog
@RoadUser_Motovlog 4 года назад
@@spaceman_az it's not because they are european, it's because of how they are made. a V2 like the paningli will take some kind of space on the bike, and on a bike there's not much room so they have to put things where they can. I own a 2003 honda hornet 600, it's a simple bike, it's naked, it has an inline four with carburators, so nothing too fancy. I had to change the spark plugs and let me tell you that getting out the 2nd and 3rd sparks was a pain in the ass. I also had to remove a good amount of parts just to adjust my rear shock stiffness. Some bikes are easier to manufacture, some of them aren't. Also, it seems complicated but it really isn't, the bike is made of "sections" that you can easily take apart and put together.

This series is becoming a lesson in project management and how there needs to be some planning done regarding quality checks BEFORE anyone even thinks of riding. Shakedown runs are to verify the product works as designed and to catch minor issues NOT to catch failure due to negligence. Mistakes and oversights happen. But the SAME dangerous and obvious blunder should not be made twice. This is an example of how too much "creativity" with not enough "design" and "safety checks" leading to disaster. Fortunately Chase is still with us to make more videos.....this time. I am very disappointed in Brian, the expert. Kudos to Luke for good crisis management.

In South Africa we don’t even have to leave the keys in it, if we just leave it for five seconds it will be gone forever.

I get Bryan is working on it but it’s better to have a third party look at it. Btw blue locktite is your friend. Even if a bolt doesn’t call for it, it won’t hurt it and it’ll be a safeguard against vibrations (twins are notorious for vibration issues but should use for all bikes). Use it, no one wants to see you hurt yourself or hear about someone getting the bike getting hurt from something so preventable (...or from anything else). Ride safe
