🙂 I always install 3.5 Hard Drives on all my main rigs, my GOG Library alone takes up about 7TB of Space and then over on Steam thats another 7TB so yeah
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
That’s insane, wow. I mean hey I guess that’s the scenario where hard drives would be useful, when you need capacity like that. But the 1TB drive in this pc wouldn’t be cutting it lol.

Nice video. However, even with a $900 price tag, this PC is far from a steal in terms of performance. There have been countless of videos breaking down the Alienware cases and point out their biggest weaknesses, namely the airflow which is basically non-existent. A great deal for disassembly and selling the parts individually though. Or for any Alienware fan or collector.
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 3 дня назад
Thank you, and yeah airflow’s not great, but performance in gaming with this model is actually right in line with where a 4070ti should be. It seems you only really see throttling with these 2023 R15’s under sustained cpu workloads, and not during gaming. But I do know what you’re saying.

Would there be any chance in you future videos you could do something like "cost to build" and "potential profit". But other that that great video.
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
Yes, I had planned to start doing a build cost/sale price/profit section when they sell, but it’s probably a good idea to just put the build cost in the video that I build them in as well, so I’ll start doing that as well. $977.90 for this one

@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
Yeah, we’ll see how it goes given Alienware’s reputation for high temps and everything.
@Deathgrip113
@Deathgrip113 5 дней назад
@@JackPCBuilds Yeah, that is true. It really is such a bummer that so much of their components are proprietary so you can’t just case swap it. Idk about you but I’ve always found the Alienware PCs look garbage.
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
Yeah. In the past I also had an R10 that I got also for slightly over $900 about 2 years ago with an R9 5900 (non-x) and a 6800 XT (incredible deal for the time) Actually did try to case swap that one, but a day later the cpu just randomly died somehow??? which put a halt on all of that. Anyway point in saying this is that going from that one to the R15, the R15 has better airflow but even more of the stuff is proprietary. Motherboard is no longer mATX and the PSU is who knows what, not even close to standard. I think Steve from GN said this but they’re trying so hard to hold onto that case and make it as good as possible but it’s just fundamentally bad and it doesn’t make sense why they’re so set on it.
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
Sorry if that’s a bit long, kind of went on a tangent with that story.
@Deathgrip113
@Deathgrip113 5 дней назад
@@JackPCBuilds lol you’re good. Yeah, the cases are just horrible. If I remember correctly, they have, for their newest gen prebuilts, switched up the case design to a more modern type case with a glass side panel and also gone with more standard, less proprietary style motherboards so those prebuilts could be the source of some awesome flips in the future. Also, Idk about your local market but I’ve started to see a fair amount of newer cyberpower pre builts be sold at really good prices and, cyberpower being the parent company of Hyte, they’re all in either Hyte Y40s or Y60s which are gonna be awesome for flipping!

i think gamers nexus did a video on that pc maybe it's bad air flow or complications from prolonged
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
Yes, I did watch that video a while back because this is my second R15 actually. Airflow is certainly not the best especially on the higher spec versions with K-sku CPUs

My procedure is plug in my AC Watt Meter, clean install 11, update drivers update windows, update the bios to the latest revision, MEMTEST86 all the ram sticks, install msi afterburner, run cinebench and monitor watts and temps, run Heaven and monitor watts and temps, run Furmark and monitor watts and temps, run Cyberpunk 2077 and drive around for about 30 minutes and monitor watts and temps, run GTAV and drive around for about 30 minutes and monitor watts and temps. Come back another day and see if theres any new updates and then redo the game tests again. If watts and temps seem fine and nothing weird is acting up then its a wrap and I move on to the next rig. =)

CPU goes over 70C at only 30% utilization? And it's not even i9? That's bad...
@JackPCBuilds
@JackPCBuilds 5 дней назад
You might find this interesting - I actually have another R15 I’ve been using, this one actually has a 13900F, and it actually runs significantly cooler than the i7 variant in this video. 60C or so in cinebench. Might actually do a bit more investigating in that, i7 could have a terrible paste application or something.

Could you clarify what that means? I currently can’t offer shipping on my builds as I only sell locally right now and haven’t scaled up that far yet. But if you would like an optimized parts list based around the 7800XT, I could definitely help you with that.
