Minor setbacks you guys will get it taken care of. It’ll be top-notch here soon always like watching your videos. Good job man on your videos. Thank you.
We had an end dump go over once. It looks like the same damage. So the trailer went over but not the tractor. Instead, it puts a hard twist force on it the tractor. The front end is simple. The bump stops are made to stop the axle travel upward. It also prevents tire contact with fender. But when going on its side the bump stop does its thing. But the wheel moves further up because the other end of the axle is fully drooped down. So this angle lts the tire push the fender up and into the side of the hood. You did the right thing in replacing both leaf springs. The rear damage is obviously the frame was twisted to the side. Most people don't understand that frames are made to twist. Lol. You know what to do. But for your viewers I would drill a small hole at the end of the Crack. This stops the Crack from growing. Then you weld. It's funny, I would rather buy a clean truck with a bad engine. My shop can turn an inflame in less than 5 days. Then I don't have to worry about that for a while. Lol Anyway, my compliments on your continued success. I parked my fleet.
I am a diehard kenworth fan to the core...but i will give Peterbilt the upper hand when it comes to the hood you can replace what you need unlike KW where you have to buy a whole new hood....they need to make a TruckFax ...like car fax but for semis.....great content as usual sir
I would be sick about that truck, that's just me, I bought a Freightliner century that has had the cab removed and the shortened the sleeper to 18" long, there's holes all over the frame, it really makes me shake my head, but it's rust free from Texas and I live in Wisconsin rust belt, going to be my fuel mileage saver really soon, love you guys, pray without ceasing
Thanx for sharing your experience Did All kinds of Frame repair work for 50 years if frames could talk Glad You and Trevor caught it now Could been Devastating Have a Great Day 👍 God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
Prices being what they are on new and used trucks you will still be ahead of the game and when you guys are done you will have a ride that will meet your fleets high standards
here in South Dakota we hit deer quite regular. it's nothing the have to fix parts of a hood or grill & bumper multiple times in the life of a truck. I have hit more than my share. but I always went to the same place to have fixed because that did excellent work & I was fussy when came to the painting panels that were replaced. If they didn't paint the whole hood they would paint the panel off the truck first & take a two by four that had several small holes it that would hold rivets so they could paint them seperate. Then they used a couple non painted rivets to get the panel in place where it need to be, & then installed the painted rivets to the hood. making no tape marks of any kind. one time I banged up sleeper extension & a local shop wanted to put one on. I asked my shop if they would paint it & I'd pick it up & have it put on. He told me They would probably never get the paint quite the same due to the truck being a few years old.I took it to them & when done one would never know it wasn't the original panel. Many can paint just some can paint better & that's who I want . .
the cross member is very common to crack , replace the load housing while its out of service , you will thank yourself later, you can huck bolt any thing on if you have the equipment to do so, replace all the air bags and the brake chambers, if it has 500k miles or a ton of engine hours do the clutch also, if someone claims to have done a overhaul demand the paper work otherwise its a false hood, replace the air fittings that are push in and install compression fittings on the bottom air tank under the battery box, and the air manifold is most likely leaking,
Check out the vehicle report for the truck and you can find out what happened to the truck through insurance and it was hidden damage and your doing it right now and hopefully it gives you great service
Dam man, that kinda sucks. But like you said you got it at a good price. You should of been thinking hard when your first price was accepted. It's hard to know what that specific truck went through before you bought it. Stay positive my friend and fix it right!!
Insurance probably totaled for frame damage! Probably side crash since your rear axle is twisted back and to the right! They probably bought back from insurance fixed cheap and traded into dealership
Good afternoon sir, like always great content and info. You have great knowledge and wisdom that gives you excellent experience in what you do. Hands down you would’ve made a great detective and lawyer lol. RealTalK. I’m glad you were able to keep your business face in that situation and by not getting all hyped up at the dealership thinking they gave you a bad deal. Thanks for being a motivator even when it’s doesn’t fit the bill. Be blessed sir.
Crazy to me that a dealer would hide that much damage from a buyer, and that's coming from someone who works at a KW dealer. I could understand a small thing or two, but an obviously twisted/stressed frame is real shady. At least you know what you'll have is solid now.
Great guys you got there in your shop you save a boat load of money doin inhouse maint. not just that but these guys doin it all I remember the roads suck that is alot work just keepin things together Drove a new KW dont even remember the year but was noticeable to the eye the drivers side was higher than the other After couple bitch sessions they made a few calls they said at the factory they lazer everything they allow between the weight of the driver not being in the seat that reason it was off seemed like the driverside had different amount of spacers below or above the springs I looked at alot of trucks more are cockeyeing off a little than there are right Doin all the good with the right people in your shop keepin older trucks on the road
Must have been a good deal, you're not too concerned. Hope it all works out for you ! You stay calm like me, not worth wasting energy on anger !! Take care and peace ✌🏽
At least with this truck once you finally get it back together you can count on it running for a long time unlike a new truck with sensors going off and shutting the truck down every couple of weeks Gotta love a glider
might be cheaper and quicker to buy a chassis cut off and diamond plate weld it. you can end up buying lemon used trucks anywhere unless you know the former owners. hopefully you can get it back on road soon and make some money without other issues.
Hello there I guess you cold say my boss to be yea I hear you on the truck but you know how to make it work out alright have a good day I'll be watching.
Do not get in a hurry. You wil come out. The better in the End. Cause the big boss d like ugly. You keep your side of the street clean. - live your life as a open Book. And will always. Prosper.
Hey Justin! Hope you're doing well. That's gonna be a good truck for you when your guys finish it. Anyway good luck with it and God Bless you guys at FLINT CREEK. PEACE OUT MY friend...
like always , great video justin ! like ur attitude about how this trucks turning out for you , sometimes ya win sometimes ya lose but in the end it'll all come out even . we can choose to let stuff like this make us bitter or better & bitter always sucks & better is always better !😁 best wishes bro , keep it up ! 👍✌️
This is one of those live and learn moments. I have no doubt that you guys will get this truck in top shape but i suspect that the next truck you look to buy with be looked at a little more closely. You should have bought the Red Peterbilt that you saw there it was a good looking truck buy them again looks can fool you
Heyyyyyy Bigg just do what I would do when comes to the truck I stop walk away take a breath you know Wooosaaaahhh lol gather up my thoughts and reapproach with a steady but easy mind
The way I see it, the truck might cost you more time and money than expected but when it’s finally ready, it’ll be a good truck. You could go get a brand new 2023 and have the same amount of down time due to flaws with the emissions and sensors.
That dealer knew that truck were in a roll over, the pandemic pushed these scammers out here to a new low, he should offer you some money with that type of damage or atleast pay for half of that repair, you should have your head mechanic with you, while you talking to the salesman he can do a perfect inspection on a use vehicle, I learned my lesson a long time ago with these corner dealer, they operate or have the mindset like a bent hook
It looks like she slid into a concrete divider on a curve, and pulling a dump trailer that flipped partway over. Just enough to tweek all the parts, and bust the hood up. I'm going to guess they hauled sand from a beach. (thus the rusty bolts on the inside) No matter. Justin, enjoy whatever your next job is. Wherever it is. I hear tell, Yoder's Buffet in Florida is looking for a fry cook! lol! It's been fun watching this company grow thanks to the Biden Administration's economic growth policies. Stay safe out there.
It is a hit and miss on any used tractor. All the other was mostly a miss . This Pete was a big hit. Hopefully you won't have alignment problems and chew thru tires and such . Good luck on it .
Oh Yah...that's the way buying anything used...always something wrong, that's why it's for sale...if it was real good no issues they would keep it...been there. That terrible on a someone starting out and doesn't know what's wrong or how to fix it, go broke before you get started. like I said before you are, lucky to have a group of good mechanics, now days. Keep those tires rolling and make that $$$. I'm unloading & headed home, Pot Roast & Biscuit's, for dinner she has made.

Must be nice to have that kind of money to throw around. But for the average guy just trying to get his own business this would of been damm I can’t even begin to imagine shame to see dealers like this still exist
Did same thing got a 15 pete really good deal..Get home leek here an there..Your rite no sence bein a winey ass fix it move on..Its used.Great channel an your company is Badass
your a fool if you let that dealer get away with selling you a truck in that shape he is laughing all the way to bank. if i bought that truck that dealer would be hearing from my lawyer. that dealer knew what was wrong with that truck that is why he took your first offer .Always make the dealer do all the repairs before you buy the truck no matter what the cost and if he doesnt just walk away.
@Flint Creek Transport the publicity alone is worth 20-30k! And on top of that, you're buying from them. Keep up the great work, Justin. I love the channel.
You need stop everything on that unit and contact that dealership immediately because they knew exactly what they had. They took your first bud was your first red flag! That truck should be written off or used for parts. They need to make it right and give money back to you. Don’t be a frikkin pushover! Know your rights!!! That is fraud.
I bought the truck. Signed the papers. My word is my word ……. As is ……. I don’t plan on burning any bridges because most times the one one that gets burnt is the guy burning ….. they might have a beautiful glider next year I want to buy. 😉. My lesson is learned. It’s really not that a expensive if a fix. More time than anything
Stop wasting your time rebuilding those engines. Cat has a program where they will take your core and give you a brand new block, head and internals with a new warranty. Call your cat dealership and ask them about it. Screw rebuilding. Takes too much time when you can get a factory new engine.
