I reset my iPhone a while ago and after that it showed up with the “iphone is disabled connect to iTunes message” (which is a message you get only if you enter your password incorrectly many times). So I contacted Apple and they said it’s a very rare system error and it was impossible to fix, my data is still there. Can these guys fix it Linus?

Connect to a laptop that has iTunes installed. Turn it on make sure its in Recovery Mode. You can use ifixit tutorials to solve that. I think 3utools can also fix that.

Hey Linus. Please make a correction to your video around the 10 minute mark. You gave credit to the wrong person/company. Jessa Jones from iPad Rehab figured out the solution to the speaker ic that caused boot looping; not DriveSavers. Check out Louis Rossmann's video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iEhhewgUVMU.html for more details. He does not find you at fault, but I believe that credit should be given where credit is due because of all the hours Jessa Jones put into that solution. Thank you nonetheless for your videos on tech. This is one of the many sources I use to learn more about technology. Edit: Jessa Jones was not the only one to help come up with the solution. She had help and credited the correct people in a video. I still believe there should be a correction to your video, since DriveSavers had nothing to do with that solution and they only knew about it due to a text that they received from Jessa herself.

Okay calm down your horses I am from a country called Pakistan and I recently bought a damn expensive laptop and somehow the hinge got busted so I gave it for a repair, and when I got it back he busted the ICs on the motherboard and had zero technical knowledge I knew more than him and I am just a sophomore in University so I made the comment as I really appreciate people that know what they're doing and wish that this type of a company was at my place cause like there isn't 1 professional person here and that frustrates me

If your iphone X ever gets into a bootloop, you have to uplug the earphone piece, restore, and then plug it back in. Would highly recommend anyone watching this video to check out Louis Rossmann's video titled "A word on big brand names in the repair industry ". Highly informative about why you don't necessarily need Drive savers and their $2000 Data recovery. I'v had two out of my last five phones completely die on me. Having most things on SD card meant I lost nothing and was able to plug and go with my next phone. I'm using a Oneplus now...no SD card expansion. Feels bad man.

Do watch out as SD cards (and pretty much all memory devices) are known to fail, but I agree that they are a pretty good "black box" that can be removed from the wreckage and recovered. Also much easier to backup and transfer to and from computers when mtp or the usb connector in the phone itself is playing up. Having an sd card slot is my main criteria for a phone nowadays.

This seems less like a DriveSavers-sponsored LMG video, and more like a LMG-produced DriveSavers ad. Don't get me wrong, that's FINE, well produced ads are great (Ryan George's Adstronaut segments are almost as good as the actual sketches and well worth watching) and DriveSavers DEFINITELY provides a great service (if you haven't backed up and someone rm -rf toystory2/assets), but I don't like how LMG doesn't distinguish between "this company paid us to build this crazy thing using their stuff" videos and "this company paid us to tell you about their stuff" videos. I watch both, and I often enjoy both I'd just prefer to know what I'm getting into before watching it. I think the main difference is that, in the traditional sponsored-video, the creative control primarily comes from LMG with oversight from the sponsor, while, in these kinds of videos, the talking points are given to LMG to work into the script (assuming they aren't just given a complete script to slightly modify to sound more LMG-ish).

With their insane prices vs smaller competent entities, shipping _better_ be free. On topic: It's good you mentioned "as intended" but sad you didn't explain it. This is the root of why Apple and their fanboys say data recovery off a dead iThing "isn't possible". The words are not entirely untrue, but the sentiment is utter BS. How you recover data from a dead iThing is not by extracting digital data from a dead unit - but by _repairing_ the device to a state where booting it up, feeding it the passkey, and getting the data out "normally" is possible.

Wow... That ipad recovery story is pretty insane. Its crazy how they figure out that they needed to add pressure and that instead of transferring the data via cable, they emailed the files instead. The technician who was working on it must've put so much effort to find out how to work around the challenges. Would of loved to watch that in person.

One of my worst experiences was when I was in my bed on my phone and I dropped it. It bounced off the bed, past my head and behind the headboard, onto (not the carpet in my room) a unplugged cord with the prongs laying face up, and broke my screen.

I love LTT as much as any member of the PCMR, but I am dissapointed to watch this 11 minute ad for a company that has never been mentioned on the channel! I was okay with an ad in the beginning, meme mentions of merch and then at the end of every ltt vid. This has gone too far. He wouldnt even mention this company if they didnt empty their pockets for him. This may seem relavent to the theme of this channel but after watching ltt every day for years, I can say this is the worst I have ever seen it. Clearly linus got a huge payday doing this video and cares more about the money than delivering entertaining videos. I hope that Linus realizes that his audiance want him to be sponsered more by products that he would genuinely endorse without a paycheck behind them, and NOT making an entire ad as a daily video on the main channel

I had an iPhone SE that I did my own battery repair on. The supplied adhesive was not very sticky and failed a week later. If I shook the phone you could hear a clunk from what most likely was the unsecure battery. One day I dropped it and it would not turn on, I was thinking it was probably the battery cable that might've creased when it hit the ground. My hypothesis was correct and I ordered another replacement. Once I did the repair it wouldn't stop boot looping thinking it might've shorted badly so I put it in disk mode and connected it to iTunes. Luckily I had updated it with iTunes literally a day before and a backup was saved. Moral of the story: don't be an idiot. and backup your data

Do you really think they would allow their in-house tools to be publicly shown on camera? That's a surefire way to get your tools reverse engineered, which then makes it much easier to reverse engineer processes.

I would go to IPad rehab or Rossmann Repair Group... they are a lot cheaper and they have better results (also no data no free)... both have had data recovery from Macs things where DriveSavers and others could not
