I could never send them back to the shelter - my senior furry feline companion did have a return policy if the animal didn't work out - but I have always welcomed either a dog or cat into my life and they're with me for the term of their natural lives.

I'm a 6ft+ former soldier and I'm not embarrassed to say I get exactly the same way. I couldn't spend months fostering and bonding with any animal in need and then give them away to a stranger. I only wish every foster was a fail.

Lol dawg what does it matter if youre a 6 ft soldier? You can be a 6ft teacher, a 7 ft janitor, a 5 ft lawyer, it doesn't matter, you can get emotional over happy things like this whoever you are or whatever u look like😂

I cry every time I see a dog alone on a shelter. I have to volunteer for no kill shelters because I can’t handle it when a dog gets put down. I rescued my girl almost 2.5 yrs ago and she is my baby. She is great with my son who has autism, very patient and loving. She has a lot of reactivity for other animals, esp dogs. She was beat up on as a puppy and they never worked her through it at the shelter. We are slowly but surely making progress. Once we get there I am going to foster special needs dogs. It is my biggest prayer that we could find a way to make things where no dog is every euthanized because of space.

I rescued a senior dog two years ago and she’s thankfully still here with me (literally glued to me as I type this). For anyone out there thinking about taking in a senior, please do. I’ve never met one that wasn’t easygoing and full of love.

We've adopted 6 senior dogs over the last 31 years. they were all great. And in 1984 I adopted a dog that was in the shelter for 4 years -- no one wanted him. He had epilepsy - sometimes 6 seizures a day. With the right medicine we got it down to 2 seizures a year! For the next (almost) 10 years he got 3 or 4 walks a day and lots of love. He was so happy when I came home after a few hours alone he did somersaults. In his old age he had 4 stokes but recovered from each one! Lucky dog! And so am I.

thank you for not giving up on Snoopy. I would like to thank the very kind lady who fostered and then decided to adopt him. I am so glad that he is being spoiled like the prince that he really is. all dogs and cats should be treated like royalty.

Oh Snoopy is utterly adorable, thank you to Forgotten Dogs Rescue and especially THANKYOU to Snoopy's new fur-ever mum, no such thing as a foster-fail but rather : "I choose you to be my fur-ever human mummy because I love you beyond all measure" success, LOL. Yesterday we had to put our adapted 14 year old pittie down, cancer got the best of her and she was suffering. She didn’t go alone, the family was there to hold her as she took her last breath. This video reminds me of her. ❤️

This story really hit me hard when it comes to dogs that get ignored and overlooked. But Snoopy got lucky and his foster found him and snoopy got lucky and got his foster fail. They both won each other’s heart ♥️ and love🐾

I wish people would stop calling it a foster fail. There is nothing but good things that happen there. The fail just gives the feeling that something wrong happened and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Can we please start calling them foster successes or foster forever? Not a big deal I know. Just want something this good to sound like it. So happy this pupper got a happy home. ❤️🐕

I love how Snoopy is a senior dog but has a young puppy mentality with his nip nip effect, just like what a baby does by suckling on a pacifier or mother's nipple during feeding time. Snoopy is absolutely adorable & thank you to the shelter staff that worked hard to find him a perfect match with his foster mom turned to adoptive mom.❤❤❤

Reading these stories makes me soo emotional. I’m happy for the dogs being adopted specially after being in shelters for so long, and sad that I can’t adopt them because my health is not good. Not being able to care for them and give them all this penned up love that I have for them. These stories help with my mental health and depression. I’m happy now. Thank you for sharing. If I lived over there I would have put in application to adopt in a heart beat. I love seniors. I adopted a 16 year old cat with medical issues but for me it was love at first sight.

Snoopy is a GOOD LUCK name. I had a Snoopy when I was little. My grandmother got him for my big sister and I when our parents divorced. He was our comfort, and we each would use him as a pillow, laying in the grass and telling him all our hopes and fears (lots of fears). He would just lay there and listen. After awhile, he would let out a big sigh, signaling he needed a break. He would go water a bush or two, make a trip to his water bowl, and come back to lay back down in the same spot, ready to listen some more. Snoopy ended up living with my older sister and HER children, playing nursemaid and confidant to HER boys, until he finally passed away at 17. I hope this Snoopy continues to wear the name proudly. It appears that he will!!!
