I’ve seen many people confused about Neil so here..
Neil the cat (canon In DreamTale)(he’s not the villager btw)
A homeless cat-monster who lost his arm and family in a fire and being exiled from the village due to his hostility. He becomes Dream's best friend after he shows him kindness, and sees him as the son he had lost. He's 33 years old, though he lives through the 494 years Dream is trapped in stone thanks to something Dream gave him once. He, later on, helps Dream while he was stuck in stone along with the guardian of magic(Lanny) by taking him away from Nightmare, though he ends up dying at some yet unknown point.
