Because there is such a high br, have to play jets half the time it's freaking stupid. They need to be maximum 5.7 not 6.3

Yea. I love the N1K2, but it's dead. It should be at 5.7 with its actually 5.0 performance, but it sits in 6.3, where they are completely dead. I think it's very pathetic, tbh. The P-47D-28 is a way better plane than the N1K2, and that monster sits in 4.7, but the N1K2 is in 6.3. Makes absolutely no sense. Same with the Mustangs. Even the P-51D-5 is better than the N1K2, but the D30 is in 5.0. Absolutely KeK. It shows perfectly, that Gaijin doesn't play his game.

N1K2-J/Ja Decent plane, with okayish armor, but at the cost of maneuverity. It became quite sluggish on low speed and on high speed it is not that good either. Okayish climb rate, if you're normally into 20 degree climb, I suggest about 17-18 degree climbing, because it drains your energy lots even with almost same rate of climb. Engine starts to yellow in 5 mins WEP and red 10 mins WEP. 4x 20mm Stealth belt would do the job with proper aiming, if you're normally into turning fight as Japanese, you should probably sometimes don't use that idea. It is hard to chase people in straight line, but even so barely in dive as most of your enemy encounters are fast(not to mention jets). Turning fight is not that good, rolling isn't much good too, gets harder to roll when low on speed. Usually my playstyle is to be a support fighter, as most of the enemies are mostly jets or planes that could easily outclimb you.(Yeah even in low B.R. you could hardly outclimb allies) Patience is the key, pick off any low fighters which are chasing your friendly fighters, but keep in mind to look at the surrounding before engaging as your energy retention isn't that much impressive. In stock though, the plane will give you mostly horrible experience, even in spaded(yeah i'm trying to spade my next N1K2-Ja now), I got hard time to 1v1 someone. It drains my confidence when engaging 1 on 1 battle. But in the team battle I could only watch for a moment before joining the party. Now on stock you need to sideclimb, wait for opportunity before joining in, but still good luck with your aim, because stock gun modification will burst the ammo mostly anywhere but your target, that's why I set my gun convergence to 500m and trying to get as close as possible before spraying, eventhough the chance of enemy dodging is high and you got no way to follow it with your high speed and crappy maneuverity. That's all I could say based on my experience, good luck with your N1K (N1K1-Ja got much more crappy rolling because of the cannon placement and probably... lighter materials that couldn't handle 4 cannons, but no worries, in 5.3 your friendly fighters are mostly kickass that you only need to pick off any leftovers. Be sure to read above though as both of their performance are mostly the same. But I feel like N1K1 got much better turn, must be my feelings...)

Actually, almost every prop plane in that BR is better than the Ki-84. I mean the Bf-109s, Fw-190s, Mustangs, Thunderbolts, Corsairs, Spitfires. The Ki-84 is a good plane, but only because most of the allies pilots can't fly our plane correctly.

@@Stolas9 hmm no.... I disagree. The ki 84 is more than a match for all of those planes if flown correctly. Japanese teams are some of the best in the game while ally teams are bad... And even if you had a very good ally team the ki84 would still be a difficult opponent to face.

The J7W is also the sexiest plane in the game. :D

It’s really amazing once you spade it. And the Ki84 Hei is the same exact plane but with 30mms in the wings, absolutely shreds.

The first worst 20mm?

Probably MG FF. No damage, no velocity, and crappy ammo loads. Thankfully after BF109E-4 you get the FF/Ms which are on a whole new level. The SHVAKS are also pretty bad but I feel like they still do more damage than the Ho-5s and don't use up ammo as fast.

Actually now that I think about it, low ranks have a lot of crappy 20mms. The MG30 on the He112A-0 comes to mind, and Ho-3 on the Ki-45 ko. Both low damage and rate of fire but good velocity... I think I would still take them over the king of garbage MG FF.

@@iank6897 Yup 1st worst are Mg/FF for me. Actuslly He 112 A0 has excellent 20mm, very high velocity, accuracy and good damage.

I think they nerfed it recently, I flew it a few months ago and the damage was pretty bad. 2.0 planes were eating 2-3 shells with just hits. Still accurate and a good rate of fire, when I first started playing the game it was one of my favorite planes because it would actually do damage.

its the same shell except for the armour piercing tracer is replaced with a practice shell for every 4th shot instead of every 3rd so it should hit harder, unless your talking about the 50cals

You've got to fight this plane with the specialiation your plane excels at. If you have a B&'er, stay in that role, dont be tempted to turn, If you're in a turnfighter, get him to turn with you, and so on. Stay in your plane's strenght, and dont get tempted to do stuff that your plane isnt good at. Because if you do, the Ki-84's will eat you alive.

@@jengar6258 my biggest problem is getting outclimbed by it, even after sideclimbing and being at 6/7km i dont have enough energy to fight them. Maybe because im alone versus multiple enemies... :(

you have the Ki-84 ko, the ki-84 otsu and the Ki-84 hei, which are all called Hayate. The Otsu in the thumbnail and title are there to identify which version of the Hayate is being reviewed here.
