The Helldiver is the best fighter in the French tree

This thing gave me a heart attack when i was trying to turn fight it in my 109 F4. Bad idea in hindsight, but you would think a divebomber isn't that maneuverable as well. And then the guy out turned me with A DAMAGED ENGINE. The only reason i won was because i dived away into a valley with my dick in between my legs and the plane eventually lost all power.

It's not too bad if it has gun pods. It's basically an attacker classified as a bomber that can't retain energy but it can maneuver pretty darn well.

As an ex bv238 driver I had a severe case of ptsd while watching this.

If you want something similar try the MB175t at 3.3. It's less armed & less agile, but much faster and has a whopping 20 in the rear. That's my go to sleeper plane, always good for a rebound game.

This plane is great in RB, but in sim its horrible to take off in, the engine torque always throws it to the left, and even with rudder input it will still drift to the left, ive only ever been able to take it off twice because of how bad it is.

I had a Bf 109-F4 complain that he died to a fat slow dive bomber that could out-turn him. Just for shits and giggles I kept with the turn way longer than I needed to just to add salt to his wounds when I evaporated his plane at 3-400m. I love the helldivers(except in arcade, the FM is really shitty)

This plane is so easy to underestimate. I had to learn this the hard way lol.

I absolutely love the Helldiver....especially the US BR 3.3 one...in which I have more than 600 kills in air RB. Not bad for a bomber😂 Nice game there Spit 😊

Reminds me of my favorite plane in the game - Japanese B7A2 Ryusei. it doesnt have that firepower advantage but its not slow, it can climb relatively well and it turns like a zero xD

I literally just got a talisman for the SB2C-1 in the US tree. Doesn't get the gunpods, sure, but it's still a hell of a plane.

I don't understand why people use gun pods in the SB2Cs (don't head on in this plane, you can easily just kill them by getting on their tail from out turning). They give the plane more weight and way too much drag, and you can get more than enough kills by using the 20mm cannons (which are the AN/M2s that have a slower rate of fire which in fact help to conserve your ammo). The TRUE SB2C pilot takes 8 x HVARs and uses them for Air-to-Air purposes against big bombers like the Me 264, Pe-8, BV-238 and other bombers (most bombers in general). To wrap it up, the Helldiver is a plane that most people underestimate by many levels, both in diving ability (by this I mean you can hold a 90 degree vertical dive using dive flaps, where as the enemy fighters will have to break off or rip their wings) and in the turning ability. I've out turned zeros at higher speeds with no problem. Yaks get eaten alive, and Bf 109s just cry. Don't use the gun pods, Spitflyer! Try it with HVARs and become the 4.0 F4 Phantom II!

I must say from my experience, that i enjoyed first firefly more. It is kinda similiar in performance, only difference being a little bit more speed and different guns.

Helldiver is finally starting to get some more attention. But Spit do a follow up and fly the American 3.3 Helldiver, it's even more fun in a way. (See if you can beat 7 kills against germans/Italians😉)

I always enjoyed the lower tiers of US! All those navy dive bomber, the A36 Apache, the A20. There are alot of good airplanes on rank 1-2

Yo when you do get the F86K, play it like a vulture. Side climb away from radar when you take off. Low level climb to at least 800 KM/H Then climb at 30 degrees to 5000 Meters or more. Then get to full speed on the way to the battle. You can swoop in and out of the battle like crazy with it. It is also the perfect counter to their contemporary vatour

I flown the American version of this and honestly it seems like a fun plane and it turns really well when its not really slow which it's slow already enough but good guns and good turn and it can be fun

Played this plane a few times and not gonna lie it literally shred people no one can do anything as long as u surprise them but then even in dogfighting if found out it still shreds.

The Helldiver being bad is a misconception, it was only the first model that was disliked. The problems it had were ironed out, and newer models were well-liked by the aviators that flew them.

It plays Very different in Sim, as it has Wicked engine torque. It is Not forgiving to takeoff with. Newbs should avoid this plane in Sim until they learn how to deal with torque.

Lituraly every plane in the game can outrun and outclimb the SB2C. Even when the SB2C has a energy advantage over the BF 109 the 109 can still outstall it. And yet not a single axis player tryes to do so. The onely thing they do is try to turn with you, when they see that this doesnt work they dive(IT IS LITURALY CALLED THE HELLDIVER SO GUESS HOW THAT GOES?!) and then when you kill them they spam SO OP in the chat. Its hilarious

To be good at this game, you need a certain type of intelligence. Spatial awareness in a big 3D environment. Some people lack that intelligence and will never be a good fighter. Like me. Maybe I need more practise. I usually stick to Boom 'N' Zoom and bombing. He's right about the top tier vehicles. Too many people focus on them.

Yesterday i manage to get 3 air kills in one game and 4 kills next game against russians. Its hilarious fun noone expect you to play like a fighter and with gunpods is so powerfull

I can't even kill a bi-plane with just 120 shots! How were Russians so successful when their weapons sparked like crazy, had no ammo and we're basically useless?!?!?! This plane has the wrong flight model, it ruins low BR CW. Gaijin should fix it, it weights 4,5T and turns better than any 109.
