Day 34: Phly I have an idea. You and the boys spawn in Mauses and E-100s and encircle an enemy after tracking them. You don't move until you die, and come back to the cage in a bomber to obliterate your new pet.
Phly when you shot the KV-2 in the second game, the KV-2 not instantly detonating seems not too unrealistic. I helped a good friend to sort some pictures his grandfather made on the Eastern front in World War 2, German side. There were some photos that we timed to 1941 of some Marder 3 tanks passing by. There was another photo that looked like it was shot in the same area at the same time. It showed a Russian KV-2 that got penetrated on the left side of the turret exactly where you shot the KV-2 in the game. The tank in the picture was abandoned, but looked otherwise intact. We speculated that one of the Marder 3 shot the KV-2 in the side, probably killing or at least wounding the turret crew and hitting the breech block, making the KV-2 a combat loss so the rest of the crew bailed out.
Damn. I have been here for so long. I have watched Phly the longest, I started watching him Oct. 17, 2012. Belive it or not I was 7 years old. I was so intrigued to find a game that had what i loved which is Military combat, focusing on planes, tanks and ships. I love history and I love Phly. Have a nice day Phly and i hope you can think of how far you have came. It's been a very long ride.
Marder III H is quickly becoming a favourite of mine as well. Nimble, sneaky, good depression and quick angling, quick round for side on snipe shots etc, pretty deadly to everything it faces and a quick reload.
Engineer: "How can we stop our tanks from being destroyed by enemy anti-tank guns and tank destroyers?" Aircraft designer: "We give our tanks wings ja?" Engineer: ... Aircraft Designer: ... Engineer: *"Ja Hans! JAAAAA"*
Pretty much this, but replace "Aircraft Designer" with "Mustache Man." To quote the head of the Luftwaffe, "You might find around Germany some jet airplanes equipped with anti-tank guns. Don't blame me for such monstrosities. This was done on the explicit orders of the Führer."
I'm really noticing why I tend to do badly when playing War Thunder, especially since I haven't played it on the regular in a few months now. Every time Phly says "Okay, let's not get pulled in here", "Let's pull out" or something like that, my reaction in the same situation is always "MEN, FIX BAYNONETS TO THE TANK'S BARREL, WE'RE GOING IN"
I found you a few years ago. It’s crazy to me thinking about how far the game has come. I didn’t find it when it started but maybe not too long before I found you. You rekindled my interest in the game and I’ve learned how to play so much better than when I started. I’d maybe get a kill every 5 games, since I’ve started following you I probably avg about 15 kills every 5 games! Thanks for such fun and great content! Keep up the awesome work, Phly! Phly, I definitely wasn't with you that far back but YOU are the reason that I do play now. I watched a vid of you in the Sheridan I believe, and the little screen on the side that shows what the ammo does inside the tank really grabbed my attention. I thought it was sooooooo cool! So thanks for the bipolar like highs and lows this awesome, frustrating game provides me with!
I have to say one of the most satisfying vehicles for me in this game has been the American M163. Ground metal box go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt. The 5.0-6.0 BF109 and FW190 group is really damn fun too also love the secret message you left for us, we love you too

Just so its noted as its been an age and I'm not going thru all the comments to see if others noticed, but the first tank Phly takes out with his plane at 7:18 is also wearing the skull and cross bombs in the kill cam, what a coincidence! XD
I used to take this out in Air RB and then try to snipe enemy planes at over 1.5 km away. This was because most didn't expect to be attacked from so far away, and since they were fighter craft they figured I was easy prey. They were right roughly 8.5/10 times but it was worth just for that occasional 1.5km snipe. Since then though I don't think I could pull that off again without a lot of re-practicing and people playing as unaware as they used to.
Powder load mass is measured in a system called "grains" abbreviated "gr" not grams"g". Just fyi. Also reversing the units usually results in disaster.
Kinda unrelated but yesterday I was playing my do-335 B-2 and the Russian event plane got on my tail. I just flew around the edges of the map until a 109 shot him down. It was awesome.
Henschel 129 *vibe check* also it's basically long barrel Pz III 50mm and use same shell with 28 grams of explosive. back in the day of 2013 Marder III H only have -3 gun depression.
This one is also fast for the BR and has mg too. It can kill ground strikers and bombers with ease sometimes unexpecting fighter. Unlike the duck it can fly on one engine.

Yea back then WT was the "plane game" WOT was the "tank game" and Steel Ocean(RIP) was the "Ship Game" ! (WOWS came much later and despite i was in the test-team I left all for WT and WT-naval when it got added.... strange since i was playing CBT: WOWS, WOWP, WT, WT tanks, and WT-naval )
The thing that we can't realise that War Thunder is a decade old is a good thing. It proof that the game had a good evolution and had known how to renew itself!
love those special moments in War Thunder. Phly please show some of those awesome moments in the game replay to look at the last round that hit the pilot, it is soooo satisfying :)
Mr. Phloppy Sir! You HAVE to check out all the rocket-vehicles (like the BM-13N Katyusha-Truck), after the HE-Buff they finally gave rockets distance markers in the scope! No more guessing on the drop, it's amazing! You could bring some backup for the BM-13N, something of similar strength... like a T54, if you know what I mean ;D
Phly, you should play the Striker, i dont mean the super good one with 500mm pen, but the british one, the forgotten one, with missiles. I would realy like to see you busting leos without exposing an square centimeter of your tank.
