now i wish for overwatch with proximity, it'd be so funny and i wish they'd add it 😭 at least as an april fools thing or something, imagine sneaking around with an enemy and whispering to each other to not be caught
Honestly, this dude played waaaayyyy better than I was expecting. The overconfident tank reveal at the end was probably his biggest slip-up, though; kinda spelled doom for the team lol Otherwise, good stuff 😊
I was Bronze S25 of OW1. Having climbed from bronze to GM on several accounts learning multiple tanks…here’s my advice: master one or two tanks and learn as much as you can about outplaying with strategy over character selection. Don’t even bother with voice chat until Master 3, because people don’t really know what they’re talking about until you get to mid-high masters. Don’t tilt first fight or first round, be patient and turn off match chat and team chat if it gets under your skin. Never flame anyone.
He plays pretty well overall, a problem he has is assessing threats before reacting to them, like when he sees a rein fire strike at 18:14 he shields it automatically, and at 21:18 the sigma was completely cut off from his team and instead of ulting and killing the sigma, winning the team fight he got distracted by the shield like a kid who had keys shaken in front of him, essentially wasting the hanzo ult opportunity and costing the round. Overall I think he’s better than a plat, and probably better than me
I would suggest having the same type of mode for first game and second game (when change team), like start with push, the other one is also push but on different map, so we can properly see if the person really do well properly or not Or maybe just because I've been in the lab for so long that my brain thinking of the experiment rules stuff 😂
@@bqui_ I hope you can too! Unfortunately I’m not on twitch because of the sheer amount of ads, but if you uploaded videos here I’d give them a watch I’d reckon. Merry Christmas to you too!
Masters players are pretty much plat players that got boosted in recent Overwatch 2 seasons (plat just makes a few more mistakes). Explains why he's performing well.
@@Hietakissa It seems like most players don't play Mauga correctly. If you look at t500 and streamers' opinions, they all agree that Mauga is busted. The prediction that Mauga would be especially strong in low ranks has turned out to be wrong, not because he's harder to play in low ranks, but because he is very easy to punish if he makes a mistake (e.g. charging in). This all seems to be evidenced by more gold players than ever talking down to masters and higher elo players who complain about Mauga being OP, saying that people who complain must be bronze. I find it all pretty amusing actually...
@@loekhabets8698 I'm a masters player myself, and have yet to see a successful Mauga player. It's also funny how few Mauga players there are on the Top 500 leaderboards for a "busted" hero. It's mostly Hog, Sigma and JQ (with Winston replacing Hog in Asia, for some reason). There are a total of 5 Mauga players in Top 10 across all regions. With the majority being Sigma (24), Winston (11), JQ(10) and Doom(10)
Im still sceptical about first game, he did get a lot of kills but i noticed supports cared a bit too much to keeping him alive, i have no doubts most dps in masters can be on their own sometimes but im daring to say he got carried there, and in the second game he was too aggro for his healers, i use my pins and voicelines like a madman to compensate i dont have a mike, i didnt see any pins of him regardless of having a Mike and that also helps specially when everyone talks at the same time, but he has good communication overall A good thing would have been seeing a game with people in his rank to see how he does then putting him in the masters game
@@windthugness I'm top 10. Got multiple games tonight against a masters 5 doom OTP that's now gm1. I'm sure he just got better though, despite playing 500 games a season on tank and NEVER being higher than masters 5. Most of the time he was diamond.
This is a shit comparison if you let him play mauga. It should have been banned from the rip. Mauga is too unbalanced to be able to tell since he's an incredibly easy and the strongest tank too.
@@emacliftsalotthat’s flat out wrong as proven by how high his win rate is across all tanks. I’ve seen maugas getting pocketed by one support and his self heal 1v1 bastion turret and win. Something that no other tank can do. Sigma is ok but Mauga with kiri/Ana is going to roll a poke comp in most cases.
Hmmm I haven’t watched it yet but based off of “I switched to pc 3 months ago” is the first red flag. I was top 500 on overwatch 1 Xbox since 2017 and when I switched to pc it doesn’t mean you deserve the same rank it’s a whole different playing field
For a second I thought it was my schoolmate from Japan with the same name etc but then he said he's Canadian so nope, but close lol. 4 days in back from Japan and I already miss it so much ☹
Dude you don’t understand I’m sigma main and when dps and healers don’t give a good team you get hard stuck bronze also because no one has coms in bronze it’s a team diff having a cheeks team h gives a cheeks rank but I’m a dps main bug turned into a sigma main because tank always ass and then dps is ass I’m 13 and should be in gold but by the time I’m 55 ima still be in bronze
Hi, I'm a semi casual Overwatch Player who has recently gotten into your Elo series. I am keen to play on one of your lobbies. I believe that I am a genuinely good Support who generally plateaus at silver and in open competitive I have peaked out at Gold 3. I feel especially when it comes to supp that I am nothing without good teammates. That aside, as soon as I get into a winning rhythm, I start experiencing loss after loss with a resultant loss in rank. So honestly, I am curious to find out if I deserve gold or higher (and therefore in Elo hell) or just genuinely not as good as I think I am. Please give me a shot (but on the weekends please, I work an 8 to 5)
I think one of his issues may be that he spreads his skills on a large hero pool, which can work somewhat well in a higher rank lobby where being flexible means you can fit in and play more meta counterswap styles - but he also then relies on his allies knowing what they're doing and not feeding their brains out. In lower ranks like low plat, you can't just counterswap to establish yourself as a dominant factor, in reality the opposite can often be the key. Learning one or two heroes extremely well, also how to play them into their counters, will give you an advantage because when the low-rank enemy players try to counterswap against you to gain an advantage since they don't have the playstyle skill to outplay you -then what happens when their counterswap doesn't work cus you are simply so good that you outcounter your counter? Then they are shit out of luck. They can't outplay you by skill, they can't outswap you either. THAT is how you become a dominant force in low rank lobbies where your team is unreliable and you can't just be "a piece in the puzzle". Also everyone here were playing like a low diamond lobby, idk if it was ping or nerves but nobody really seemed to know what they were doing relative to the supposed rank skill of the lobby. Solder not taking high ground, supports wasting important cooldowns, people not grouping well.. didn't appear like a masters lobby but may just be outside factors messing things. Dude from Japan was chill
You assume way to much of masters players. Diamond and masters is a rank of new account mmr and mercy pocket duo que boosting. There's lots of people there that don't deserve it or were boosted to it. This goes up to gm 4 and 5 too. But the thing is once an account has that mmr they don't drank even if the problem goes 2 and 28
He played well enough that the enemy team which is a bunch of master had to counter pic a Plat tank. Reverse the rank cause this tank could be master and the enemy team plat.
Counter swap mindset is unhealthy because it prevents players from learning how to use other characters a different way if they’re being countered and ruins creativity
He has decent game sense but his ability usage/cooldowns are kind of sus. Like on hog he would just throw his trap and forget about it or on rematra just randomly using his vortex or his shield.
16:55 he was high energy as zarya and ulted 3 people. He did not right clicked once. Jumped predictable instead of strafing to extend his survival. Yeah he is platin alright.
The chatter being like tank players always swap. Try being the one player that has all the pressure to make space while the enemy team always swap to counter you because that all they know how to do. Pisses me off bc everyone always says tank diff and no one ever goes mei for your rein, reaper for the enemy monkey, sombra for the ball, ana for the hog. Supports are good at realizing a tank needs help but dps barely ever try to help tank
He isn’t looking behind him because even on pc he hasn’t unlearned that he isn’t a console player anymore, went through the same thing first few times on pc. GUYS WHEN YOU SWITCH OVER YOU HAVE TO PLAY DIFFERENT THEY ARE NOTTTTTT THE SAME. pc players are more aggressive, they pay attention more yet they tunnel vision and tend to not think about plays, console players tend to only look forward, they’re less aggressive but they’re normally grouped more so their defense is great. In pc try to pick off ppl out of position, on console try to force people out of position so you can pick them off. Console players are scared to be alone, pc players think they thrive alone, know the difference 👌
Jay3, may I suggest banning Mauga in this type of content? Mauga, as everyone knows, is kinda brainless now that even a Silver who just picks Mauga can just point and shoot and win. If we wanna see his skill, let him play his other Mains.
Some of these gamers really need to touch grass because they clearly don't see potential and wanna nitpick things that they themselves would fall into. Tank already plays way better than what some of the metal ranks offer
Oh man! The comps😍 Let's GO!!!! 💪🏾😎 Best Unfortunately in Plat many player got there with good amazing mechanics but everything else is shit! It's because of those players that this guy is stuck!!!! PS: Cringe the Masters all counter picked the tank at the end😂😂😂
All I can say is that old heads are still playing the game acting like the game hasn't changed so they think they big brain when reality it's out dated
I think Jay needs to spectate some plat games... Would be surprised how well most plat players can play if put in the right circumstances. The gap from bronze-silver-gold is really small compared to the gap from those ranks to plat. Plat players are frequently matched up against diamonds or higher. I think he has the skill, but he deserves plat until he plays enough games and gets diamond. Everyone else does it, he can do it too. And if he can't, he isn't playing well enough when it matters.(Comp, where your supports aren't masters and babysitting you because you're the stream guest for the day)
@@emacliftsalotand his support held his hand keeping him alive every time he made a mistake. And he did those a bunch. Only reason he performed as good as he did.
@marxmanw3877 getting help from a support is their job 🤣 it's not like masters players don't make mistakes too. They make a lot of them you think too much of high elo players.
honestly, hes good, his reaction time is better than i thought but his game notion is plat, but in my opnion, you cant have much more playing with plat, but still not master, hes maximum diamond
Im around his rank in tank and in all honesty I don't really agree that he deserves a higher rank. First round while they obviously won and rolled for most of the game I honestly just felt like it was a support gap. His supports bailed him out of so much he kept being far too aggressive on mauga and you can really see so many moments where in all honesty he should've been dead.
