Adam was an amazing 10 year old player, too. Even at that age he was running patterns that made the other kids head spin. His development coach Lance Lucciano did an amazing job getting him to th top of the itf junors.

OMG your opponent is an absolute beast seemingly no weaknesses. Super strong Forehand, Backhand and fast on court as well. His serve is super big plus his return of serve is also great. You were going for abit too much especially at the end of the 2nd set going for down the line winners of his big second serves. You did super well holding your ground when you faced so many break points on your serve Well done Karue 👏

WOW. THIS was the match that I have never seen from Karue. This was the match that I wanted to see Karue play. When you watch the best in the world head to head at the US Open or whereever, there will be points that make you cheer because you witnessed feats that appear inhuman. Then I watch Karue matches and I say to myself. You know there were some great shots, but you don't see the great shot returned with another great shot like you see at the top 50 level. Well I saw that today. Tough to lose always but man. I saw something in this match that for the first time had me thinking Karue just might have it in him to take that next step. He just might make it to that next level. Congrats Karue. Your opponent played amazing and HAD to do some insane crap to take that first set. Nothing more satisfying that see YOU play at such an elite level. Maybe I am stupid, but I actually think this was the best match I have ever seen you play.

Thank you for the posting and your channel. I subscribed about four months ago when I first found you. I should likely avoid giving advice, and much of it might seem hackneyed anyway...but... One thing you already realize is that mental toughness and consistency--of mindset and playing--are paramount. It's tough to stay mentally strong when you don't see results (or not the results you were hoping for) and especially when you have bad results--but it's key and drives everything else. So, try to celebrate the "victories"...which is your really nice progress so far and also the fact that you're gutsy enough to do this at your age. By 30, many touring pros of the past 20 years have already had a full career and have maybe even retired, or are thinking about it. So, for you to TURN pro at 30 and give this a shot is amazing and tremendously commendable. As a person who is still trying new things and setting high goals at an age when many have retired, I truly admire people who defy the "normal" and believe in, and push, themselves. You obviously have great heart, and so I believe that you can do so much more with this. Make the most of your time and fully commit...optimal sleep, the best coaches you can find that you click with, the best nutrition, no alcohol (or obviously drugs), optimal fitness, optimal practice, etc.. (Also, check out the documentary The Game Changers, and if you're not vegan, just watch and consider what's presented and see what you think in this film about top athletes that are vegan and also significant changes in their endurance and blood chemistry.) I'm not into soccer, but a great example of this is Christiano Ronaldo who supposedly has/had an incredibly strict routine in all ways. Even tiny improvements in several areas add up and can make a difference, especially at your elite level...and though you're a good ways from the "top", your play and results prove that you're an elite athelete. Make it count; I know you can do very well, and I'll be watching your progress and rooting for you!!

Great first set. I feel like you gave him too much rhythm. He didn't like short balls. I know you're a flat hitter but perhaps some loopy high stuff would have annoyed him? He seemed to like flat pace at his FH. Good fight man

First of all I love this channel and Karue you are an amazing person! I missed the positive pump you had in the last games/videos. Maybe a vamos here and there would have helped. Keep on climbing! 💪

It seems like every time you came in strong to the net it disrupted his flow but you seem to hesitate a lot when you were coming in and we’re not fully committing yourself to getting into the net closer and so it gave him the opportunity to pass you. Don’t be so hard on yourself you were matching his power a lot of the time. I just think with a guy like that you gotta surprise him and come in with reckless abandon into that net and it’ll mess with his head. and he won’t catch you in the middle of the court like you did a lot of times you’ll be able to cut out those angles and put them away.. But what do I know I still think you’re a great player. you have a lot of potential and you’re just getting back into it it takes a little while and tennis is gotta be the one of the most competitive sports that there is there’s so many great players and you’re one of them . 👍

I hear you on firepower and how good the other guy played, it from the break in set 1 on it was really apparent how frustrated you were even when there were so many positives happening in points both won and lost. The video on keeping it fun and joyful from a few months back came to mind. Easier said than done, but I think there was a small difference today, not a big one. And anything on the plus side matters, so maintaining the positive outlook coulda maybe helped make it closer or who knows…

Some serious weight of shot there from Neff. Wondering if he’s using the Rafa origin frame with the super high swing weight or just a super leaded up version of the regular Rafa aero? You could tell his frame had a high swing weight by the sound and the weight of the ball coming in. Not easy to get Karue consistently playing defense like that and forced deep behind the baseline. Great attitude. You guys play at multiple levels higher than me, so I shouldn't offer an opinion. Anyhow, I've had guys who come out and just hammer winners and I try to go with them, playing more powerful, etc, and that doesn't seem to work. They basically feed off our power. What I find 'sometimes' works, is to slow balls down and make them generate their own pace. I notice that can find-out if their technique holds up, if they have to generate their own power. I basically flight deep heavy slices and flighted high top-spin forehands. I saw you hit a couple of those high flighted top-spin forehands and I don't think he really liked it. And then mix up with some hard shots, low-short balls. Anyhow, interested to see if this is something that you find could work. Cheers, Andy.

tough playing! stay positive no matter what man.... you can't play your best if you're carrying baggage from other points / let cords. Tell yourself, "Next point, This Point" and move to the next task! Also maybe try slicing low cross court on a player like this, I'm sure he can hit them back pretty well but may be weaker than the direction changing hard (flat)topspin shots he was crushing

with more spin, higher and deeper balls you could mix up the points. this match was so american. power yes, but so many balls in the perfect hips hitting zone. i would work on the angles, mix in some agressive slices, long and short, make him move back and forth. tennis is art. so many options available yet today its mostly just about hard ground strokes.

Karue, I love your channel and I want to see you beat everyone. As a former lowly 5.0, I know I will never have the knowledge you have but if I could only make one suggestion just to explore. I had a monster forehand back in the day and a horrible backhand with a lack of dedication which kept me from ever achieving my dream. I know you've heard it all and probably already tried this, but if you take back your forehand high to start, del Potro style and learn to engrain this new forehand into your game, it could mean everything for your ranking to skyrocket. It creates tremendous power where you could dominate almost every point. Your backhand is already top 100 in the world. I know I'm just a rando on here so I apologize in advance for the unsolicited advice from a much lesser player.

Dude was a beast....crazy shots. Coming in more to the net in that first set after deep corner shots would have been nice. Looked a little tired at times (sounds like mentally). Your opponent wasn't only powerful but also clever. He saw the forehand weakness. He moved you around to extract FH mistakes from you. Also he took very good decisions like a floater return on breakpoint, or a serve/volley on breakpoint against him He's also very well balanced between his backhand and forehand, like the best players in the game The limitation with counter-punchers (Jules Marie has the same "issue") is they get beaten by proactive or creative players. Gotta get out of the comfort zone Hell of a match though, one of your best i've seen

After a previous post about two months ago and the one earlier tonight, I now feel rather foolish with my encouragements--though I did, and still do, mean them--after just now seeing a video from 4 months ago with your practice set against Taylor Fritz. As noted in my earlier post, I just found your channel and subscribed about 4 months ago, and being busy with my own goals, I've just seen some of your videos and had not researched you. All I knew is that I saw definite talent and knew you would likely go a lot higher in rankings. hehe Well, I watched the practice set with Fritz--and though, as you graciously noted in it, it was just one practice set, anyone can have an off day or set, he was a bit rusty, and you were used to his style since you've practiced with him some before--I was impressed and Googled for more about you. Well, you obviously know what I found. No wonder you looked like such a strong, "promising" player. I now have no doubt that you'll go far higher in ranking, as long as you stay focused. I'm anxious to watch your rise over the next year, and I still admire that you are giving it a try at the "advanced" 🙂 age of 30. Best to you, and to your miniature Aussiedoodle, River, that I read about on MyTennisHQ.com (a site that I would recommend to tennis enthusiasts). I hope he/she was a rescue, but from the breed, I doubt it...but would encourage it in the future with so many homeless animals in shelters that would make loyal, loving, grateful family members. 🙂 Keep up the great work!

It was a great match. Your serve looked better than ever in MOST ways. Some of your second serves were amazing, but most of those were early in the match, and that's the thing about just putting the second one in against great competition. Just like you said, you are immediately on defense. IMO better to go for another first serve or at least that killer good second that you hit often. If you DFault, oh well, at least it keeps the opponent off balance and guessing, never knowing what's coming. I thought your analysis was spot-on. You were going for shots that weren't there, and missing way too many wide, going for the edges. Tactically, you know better than I, but did you try hitting right at him? Because your groundstrokes are just so good that it's hard for anyone to best your steel in that regard. Perhaps a right-at-em approach in the rallies? You did have more footwork-induced misses, rare for you obviously, and I felt this was because you were mentally a bit unclear as to where you were going to go tactically to win the match, just was you said. Give yourself credit though. You played a great match. You kept it together under pressure and made him earn it, and just as you said, not everyone does that. That was some killer high-level stuff. Next time it's getting dicey, just remember nobody hits groundstrokes like you and nobody moves like you and that IS going to win you those rallies.

I felt the pressure and I'm just watching the match.🙂 After Karue won the game down 0-40 in the first set, I thought Neff would crumble some. But yeah, kept up the hard pacing shots. Maybe try serve and volley to break up his rhythm and more low slices. At these levels, assume every opponent will be faster and stronger.

It was a tough matchup for you! It seems he did not give you many options or patterns that would be in your favor. I believe a lot of shots to his backhand worked. I think just keep grinding at those points until you made him frustrated then you might have a chance. Also, coming up to the net once in a while worked too. I think his serve was really on that day and it made you moved back to be able to return it, but it didn't work out. He actually got more confident as the match progress. Overall, it was a great run. Should be proud of yourself for making it that deep. I would like to see you have more fun out there and less frustrated. Some positive vibes would really do wonder in the long run. This is amazing to watch

Tough match, in this match he looked like a top 50 player maybe. Wonder what your first serve percentage was, seemed a bit low, and two break difference think was all it came down to. Also, seems like a matchup where he really likes your flatter shots and heavy pace, he feeds off it, wonder how he'd fare against slice and dice or heavy loopy spin, especially on a clay court. His game is built for those fast courts where he probably trained growing up, and bounces that land in his strike zone.

Karue, I do think he put you a bit back on your heels the whole match, no doubt. But, I think you were still handling his game OK and just needed to stay the course mentally. I think what lost the match for you was a few extra errors here and there on balls that you normally handle. I like the fact that you fought to the very end and made it hard on him to finish out the match, though. And I have no doubt you were putting pressure on him the whole match, too! Hang in there and don't let opponents get pumped up seeing you get down on yourself!!
