Yes its okay. You also use track spacer to help create space for other instruments not just vocals. For example you can put it on your bass or 808 so that it ducks whenever the kick comes in or other instruments that might be clashing...

Hi bro hope you doing great , just on the beat no need to add it to the vocal channel. Once you link your vocals to track spacer on the beat then its all good. Hi bro hope you doing great, what determines whether you use mono or stereo plugins is your input type. For example if your vocal channels /clips are stereo then you can use stereo and if your vocals are mono use mono. However, you can also use a mono plugin on a stereo channel but you need to know that once you put the mono plugin the entire channel changes to mono. If you have headphones you can experiment this put a mono plugin on a stereo channel switch the plugin on and off you will notice the difference in your vocal.

You master with the beat because even though the beat is mastered as you bring it to your mix, during mixing you get to reduce the volume of the beat and sometime add some processing to the beat like in this case trackspacing to make your vocals cut through. The whole process of mastering your entire mix with the beat is so that the vocals and that same beat now finally blend and become one whole sound.
