I think one of the reasons Kieren ranked over Arven is the fact that he kinda represents us (in one weird way). Lemme elaborate. Arven is a solid character with a super sad story but most people (especially the ones who the games are targeted towards) are unable to fully relate to him. Not saying there aren't people who can't, I have personally dealt with grief in my life and I can absolutely relate to him, but (and this is for the best) I can see why a lot of people that never faced grief only see him as a very well written character. With Kieren, he is this (at first shy) guy who wants to do big things but is always one-up-ed by the player. And he takes his anger by being a top trainer, catching a legendary Pokemon and so on. Due to the main fanbase of Pokemon being mostly nerdy people (who statistically have a bit hard on the socializing aspect of life, it is sad but we know that this goes for a lot of people) can in a weird way relate to Kieren. Maybe even without realizing it. Thus making him a more relatable character.

Carmine is not surprissing at all.. A rude Tsundere girl is popular in Asia especially in Japan.. A big sister trait also great boost

Usually pokemon game and anime has a different storyline till Galat region. But this time in pokemon scarlet and violet anime has giving some references from the their game storyline like bringing the scarlet book in the library. I think they are mixing up the game storyline into anime.

I am not even surprised by those poll results. Honestly Kieran deserves number one spot. Ps. Many years ago Gundam Seed was also pretty popular in japanese female fandom for the male character looks, drama love storyline, and complex character designs.

As someone who follows a lot of Poke-artists on Twitter, I'm not surprised both Florian and Keiran are top 10. Hells, with how often they are paired I figured at least Florian would be higher. Thanks to the anime I also figured Iono would be high up there, so it's nice to see her in top 10.

Arven should have stayed at 1..but to be fair Keiran and Arven had a fun interaction in the final part of the DLC [the Mochi Madness event] so you get to see a different side to Keiran which I guess swayed the vote to his favor. Also..for those that battled Keiran in the DLC..did you guys start the battle with Ogerpon..xD I did it and man was he LIVID.

My 2 favorite female characters are perrin and carmine, carmine has that typical tsundere personlity but she also has a sweet side that slowly comes out later but i guess the first halve of kitakami gave players a bad first impression of her, I get why people like kieran but I really wanted him to go back to his kitakami hairstyle, least favorite character in sv is larry I find him boring and forgettable, I just don,'t get what people like about him

I'm happy my hubby Grusha made it to the top 10 x3 Edit: I don't mind edgy characters but there was something defintely WRONG with Kieran in the DLCs, being upset is one thing but damn, kid was legit concerning and needed help, also I was defs on team "tell Kieran wtf" for the first dlcs. Also I think pokemon players are a bit more balanced than your fanbase in gender ratio but I am of the ~20% ;P

I genuinely don’t feel that much emotion from a lot of the Pokémon characters. I mean I barely felt much from Arven, his story just didn’t hit me. Only his parents made me feel sorry for but I knew he was going to accept his loss with grace. Kieran was the first to make me actually say I don’t really want the legendary just keep Ogerpon. I wish I could have let him keep Terapagos. I think it hit me harder then Arven since he never broke down over his loss Kieran was mentally beaten down multiple times over the course of the DLC
